  1. Thanks, but I'm not interested in Micro vehicles, because the company I works for owns two micro actyons and the experience we are having is very bad. Recon Montiro cost us less on repair & maintenance than these two brand-news. So I left out Micro on my !st shortlisting. I think VIVA Elite would come within my budget, have to see for I should go for, ELITE passo or estilo, (after reading the comments here, I thought of dropping of the Indian Swift also)
  2. I read about that issue somewhere in AL, isn't that a rectifiable issue, by some repair works. Finding a passo for 2mn would be chellenging, I may have to stratch my budget a little more if I'm going for passo, it is around 2.1mn. I read the posts in a passo fan club in Pakwheels site, those fellows also very much positive about the car. http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/wheels-fan-clubs/186490-toyota-passo-daihatsu-boon-owners-fan-club-25
  3. Yes, I have a crush on passo, only thing I worried was the age of the vehicle + i may have to pay few % more on leasing.
  4. Mate, I checked the 2007-2009 models those are around 2.4-2.6mn, How good the condition of a 2004 passo would be, I mean that I'll have to convince the leasing company/bank in that regard, otherwise they will land me with additional 3-5% for the "risk" they are taking by financing an aged vehicle (this is what L**C told me when I asked to them to reconsider the rate they offered which was 25%++)
  5. Dear All, I'm looking to buy my 1st car with a very limited budget of 2mn. As I read the forum and classified in AL, I understood that followings will come within my budget. Estilo - YOM 2010 Indian Swift - YOM 2007/08 Passo - YOM 2004/05 Since I will be going for part leasing, I won't be able to consider vehicles older than 10 years. Kindly advise on the above.
  6. yes,but what i learnt was that the real trigger for balance of payment crisis is not importation of vehicles, but the manipulated fuel prices and heavy borrowing by state entities. So if the government has the gut to address the real root cause, then there can be a tax cut on next budget. in fact CIF value of the car is much lesser, which is the actual amount sent out from the country when importing a vehicle
  7. ha ha.. nice source, 100% verified.. 1. My friend's 2. neighbor's 3. brother's 4. classmate's 5. father it took almost a minute to understand you..
  8. Dear All, I read the below text in the wiki site about the K series engines, Suzuki evolved a New Model "Alto K10". Powered by three-cylinder units displacing 998cc. The engine is one of the best units in it class and is the only 1.0 litre twin cam engine available. The engine produces 68PS at 6200rpm and a healthy torque rating of 90Nm at 3500rpm. Car has 5-speed transmissions and is smooth to operate. However the Alto's feels a tad better to use. The engine too is more refined and not as harsh as contemporaries. The power to weight figure is an impressive 88.88PS per tonne. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Alto How durable the aluminium would be when it is used in engines, are there any other motor companies use aluminium engines.
  9. I spoke to L**C and they quoted 27% and later after lot of negotiation they came down to 26%, even though I'm a person well known and delt in many deals with them. 26% is equal to Rs.3,371.73 and Rs.2,994.05 per month for 100,000 on 4 year and 5 year lease. as you advised I'm now trying to get a loan instead of the lease. Many thanks for helping me out..
  10. Dear VVTi, Iniitally I was looking for Kelisa. but after reading the forum only i thought of going for a starlet. but I have heard people saying that generally it's not good to lease out old cars. that's why i'm asking this, will leasing out a car which is about 14 years old be a suicide..??. please advise me.
  11. Why no replies, are you people find my question so stupid and worthless...... Tinyman
  12. I found out a Startlet EP91 with G series number in good condition. So far the car has officially changed to 5+ owners. Will it be a good decision to buy this car under lease (lease will be around 1.25mn to be paid in 4 years) And I've seen many out A/L members telling that Starlet is a very good car,I just need to know whether spare parts are available freely in SL.and brief me little about the fuel consumption also Thanks Tinyman
  13. refer these two adds... http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=82662 http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=83137

  15. http://www.gossiplankanews.com/2012/06/new-trends-in-second-hand-vehicle.html I just saw this post in gossiplanka, just check it out the prices quoted there are extremely low than what we see here at Autolanka
  16. We see ample of Seat shops around here but nowhere to get one properly repaired. Similar seat set is now costing 120,000++ now, can't afford a new one..
  17. Dear All, Does anybody know a place to repair a Mazda Rotating seat set (Bongo Van). Some springs went wrong in my van and now the seat is not rotatable and it freely moves front and back without properly locking. I tried with many small time seat repairers but nobody knows how to repair this, instead they propose to weld the seat making it immovable. Better if the place is near Kandy. The middle seat in the below picture is the type of seat i want to get repaired.(Sorry i found this pic from Internet,so not that clear and focused) http://www.####/uservehicle/104187c.jpeg Thanks
  18. Mates,I'm a layman looking for my 1st car, so I might be a fool to ask that price. anyway thanks for your valuable advises. by the way i assigned that value based on the fact that one of my office mate got a SWIFT jeep model KE series for 2.15 last month.
  19. Dear All, i just checked with the person who want to sell his starlet 1998 model auto car with 130,000km done- registered in 2000. my gutt feeling is 1.5mn, is it reasonable to ask that price, since i'm new to the vehicle stuff i'm bit nervous to make the quote.
  20. some one please tell me the reasonable price to quote for a 1998 Startlet Auto car. registered in 2000
  21. Biodiesel can be mixed at certain ratio with the crude diesel and be used with the normal vehicle engines. the ratio is about 15:85, certain states in US uses this kind of diesel to reduce pollution.
  22. mate i'm also in the same boat as i'm also looking for my 1st car in the same price range. I think Dihatsu Mira can be bought for this price and would be better than Maruti or Indica. On the other hand DIhatsu Mira is the base model for Kelisa and Viva. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=79002
  23. Basic Picanto was 1.65mn before the tax revision. so i did some numbers and now it's coming around 2.4- 2.5mn
  24. How much it would cost to get a Prius on lease, following should be the rent terms - 3000km per month - Repairs by the renter - Rent period 12 month - monthly rent payment
  25. ya, that's true. once the demand comes down, the prices would also be coming down, but i don't expect that to be huge sums, couple of ten thousands, may be at the same time the agents of KIA, VIVA and other vehicles will see a dip in their performance and will be compelled to cut down their margins and lay-off some dump ass sales agents. if that happens, it will be a real good news.
