I think for a difference of 2800 you should have gone with Toyota Lanka. If the difference was like 10000 or something then it's something to think of..

I like it to some extent but it was bit too much with the mazda axela on previous tires..Felt like car running without shocks..

I Recently replaced my pair of Goodyear duraplus tires with Bridgstone ecopia 150.Good year tires were out of stock at many places so I went with them.I'm impressed at how quiet and comfortable the ride has become. It feels like a water bed/baloon type comfort very different feeling from other tires I have used so far. These tires has very low rolling resistance sometimes you feel like you don't have tires, you really don't feel the road and tires when driving which I really like. (mazda 3 is notorious for road feel) My comparison between goodyear duraplus vs bridgstone ecopia on a mazda axela (195/65/R15) Comfort :About 30% increase than goodyear,30% reduction in bumpiness Noise:Almost about 60% noise reduction,Finally can drive peacefully without the radio Roadfeel:About 30% reduction than good year, roadfeel now almost non exist. Braking:About 20-30% reduction in braking ability than good year.Nothing to complain can live with it.But some noticeable reduction.Feels like car wants to roll a bit more than braking. Handling:Quite same with Both. But cornering at low speeds has improved with BS.Can drive like a three-wheeler guy Millage and thread wear:cannot comment yet I think This is the best tyre I have tried on a mazda so far.I have tried Falken,Continental,GT radial, goodyear and champiro on my older nissan and mazda.Nothing came close to the absense of road feel and noise of this tyre.I think I have found the perfect tyre for a mazda 3 in that price range.

@vishkid Tanx for your help,Would have diagnosed it earlier with your experience.Yes I did the tank replacement there as well. The guy there said that the fan has 3 speed settings and sometimes fail to operate at the correct speed and hard to diagnose,May be he was commenting with your car experience. He first wanted to put in a another fan and try it for few days to check if the symptoms arise again.I was scared of risking another full blown overheat again,so asked them to check the pump as well.It was a pain, would have been easier if things just fail without failing randomly.
-
I would buy one if it takes only like 15 min to fully charge.Lets say you had to travel kandy and come back on the same day with about 200km charge remaining on the car.I would hate to wait like freaking 5 hours for it to charge to come back.It might be a good option for daily city or office travel on a certain route. But for me it will be like living with anxiety all year along, you can't make an emergency run without prior planing and charging.I'll buy an electric the day when earth ran out of oil.
-
Tanx for your help.Anyway hope this incident didn't do any damage to the engine. What they said was pump was seizing up slipping randomly when rotating. But from what they have experienced is pumps seizing up at high speed most of the time..They were looking at the electric fan both the time I went there. This time I asked them to remove and check the pump as well.

water pump was 15000..repaired it at m**na motors..Total bill was 16000/=..There were some others brand water pumps for around 6000..He said he cannot guarantee the lifetime of those compared to the genuine.
-
Update:Guys it turned upto be a bad water pump....still wonders me how quickly the gauge could go up and come down so fast and how rarely and randomly the overheat issue occurred.hope this will be a help for others...

God help us...prepare to see 121's going around 5m....

I have driven with one like that over a year without issues, move the tire to the rear...If you have anxiety about punctures it's better to replace both front tires...

Engine Oil Level Reduces And White Smoke After Overhaul
GayanR replied to buddhi's question in Mechanical problems
I'm sorry for what you are going through...if you are experiencing white smoke can be a head gasket leak....but if you are burning oil smoke should look more like blue...have you checked under your car or where you park the car for any oil leaks....does your air filter wet from oil.....may be the white smoke masking the blue smoke...either way most probably you got a leaky head gasket or a seal leak...first check your air filter and housing for any oil... -

Car Was Wrecked Asian Alliance Is Undervaluving The Car.
GayanR replied to chan5's topic in General Automotive
Sorry mchn i have no experience on claiming a loss..other members will help you...Just to tell you once i had a fb14 super saloon for sale that time current market value was around 15.90,my one was in superb spotless interior and exterior condition could easily sell it was the second owner...once i allowed this buyers insurance guys to come and they evaluated it for 13.90,I don't think these guys have any idea about the differences in trim levels, mileage, any other add ons or condition compare to other cars, they just go for the market value of a 'fb14'.... -
Car Was Wrecked Asian Alliance Is Undervaluving The Car.
GayanR replied to chan5's topic in General Automotive
Hi chan i have no idea about insurance stuff but it seems the current market value goes around 14-15 for a caldina 1997 diesel and 16 for a 1999 diesel..couldn't find any vehicle that goes around 1.8 range,Have no idea about the trim level commented just by observation...I think it's a fair offer... -
This stuff mainly happen when people hand over or transfer the car to a car salesman to sell it behalf of them...I once had this experience when i was in search for a fb14 sometime ago....I arrived their at night this guy had like 5 other cars at home he was a small home car salesman...car was a super saloon ..I somehow contacted the original owner and asked few stuff like what repairs had been done and stuff,I noticed that one of the fog lights were not working so i just asked for the talk why this one is not working,he said he never had fog lights...turned out to be the sales guy has removed and replaced few items as he wanted, according to the owner car had a good sound system with a sub woofer, reverse cam this sales guy has tried to sell it with maximum profit while keeping those items with him...owner has given permission to sell it at any high amount the sales guy could but to give this certain amount to the owner....owner couldn't remember the odo well obviously the odo has been tampered too...If i hurried and didn't ask what items the car had earlier i could have been easily fooled.odo was around 118600..car had a 100000km major full service sticker on door to prove the tempered mileage but owner had no idea about it he has not done a 100000km major service...never go with the odo reading even the car is late 2000..just check the car condition and background of the owner...and yes google the car with number for previous ads on that car....

Outside Smoke Or Smells Leaking To The Interior While Ac Is On
GayanR replied to Warlord's question in Mechanical problems
Try manually setting the a/c mode to recycled air..If it's still happening you got a hole in the air suction door or sponge(in my case it was a freaking rat eaten the sponge)..or could be a electric issue the doors aren't closing even if you set it to recycle... -

Tanx davy and rumesh for the info...yes this is what making me mad it only happened like 3 times this week but once it happened after that no problem through out the whole day again even if i idle for a long time...I'll check with a electrician to find this out.....bdw do i have to remove the battery cable before unplugging and plugging any sensor plugs?
-
Update:I did a radiator flush ran 2days fine after that....today the issue came again....I noticed that following is what is exactly happening... car won't overheat when running, not in traffic but if come to a complete stop after a run and let it idle about 10 min the temperature gauge rises( not all the time)....I was aware this time so i was looking at the gauge every second, the gauge didn't even take a sec to climb to 3/4 of the gauge(needle was exactly where the first time this issue occurred 3/4 of the guage)...so i revved the car again gauge needle came back to exact operating temperature within about a second,at the time needle was climbing i could hear the fan running loud so the fan works...I turned the heater on when temperature was high it blowed hot air so the water pump is working....as rumesh88 said i checked the ground cables and all seems fine.....after that i idle about another 20min without an issue....as i said earlier once the issue got cleared i can idle for hours... Could be this due to a bad relay somewhere responsible for the gauge or something?I cant find a competent mechanic to sort this out... Note: previously car had 2 bad relays, the a/c was working time to time, horn was working randomly, all were cured by replacing the relays....
