  1. yup testing is underway with some of the most high tech weapons on the market. Initial tests have shown promise...
  2. This article can be very useful when you start setting up your suspension. Thought I'd put it up here so it may help someone when they're ready to drop some cash into their suspension setup... Has good information on how your spring rates, sway-bar stiffness, and shock damping would affect your handling and comfort ... in the end, everything has to work together ... ie: if spring rate is too high for the shocks you've chosen, then you're gonna get in trouble 'cos the damping will always be "soft" when compare to the springs. http://www.wtrscca.org/tech.htm
  3. Damn Nihal, those are some NICE cars! You getting them shipped to SL or you coming back over here?
  4. that's an awesome truck man, congrats to you'll!
  5. Seriously people, all this looks like it was written by a six year old. I can't belove this is official documentation on a public website.
  6. Nice pickup on the skittle. My buddy had the exact same colored car and held the record for the fastest stock SRT4 but sold it when he got his '08 Corvette. He missed it so much that after a couple months, he went and piled up another '07 SRT-4 in silver. We just lowered it a few weeks ago. You should drive south to MD some time and hang out...
  7. nomatter who was wrong or right, it's a loss to the community and the people who are really going to suffer is his family. RIP
  8. OH WHEN WILL THE SEXINESS STOP!!!????!!!! lol http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...608&IsPgd=0 Ferrari’s compact V8 supercar gets new name, more powerful engine, clever gearbox and more performance yet is kinder to the environment. And it's here in mid 2010. By JEZ SPINKS. Ferrari 458 Italia The world’s most famous red sports cars are continuing their quest to become ‘greener’ with a new supercar that is kinder to the environment than its predecessor. Ferrari has released pictures and details of its stunning new 458 Italia, a car that is more powerful yet more fuel efficient than the F430 it will replace in 2010. Ferrari’s new F458 Italia features a redeveloped version of the F430’s V8, with direct fuel injection and a new seven-speed dual-clutch auto (borrowed from the Ferrari California convertible) to help lower fuel consumption from 18.3 litres per 100km to 13.7L/100km. The compact, two-seater supercar's CO2 emissions have also been lowered to 320g/km. Ferrari hasn’t lost its performance focus, though, for a car that will reach Australia in mid 2010 with a price tag in excess of $500,000. The quick-shifting transmission teams with the bigger, 4.5-litre V8 and lightweight aluminium body to boost the 458 Italia's performance. Ferrari claims the 458 will sprint from 0-100km/h in a remarkable 3.4 seconds – more than half a second quicker than the F430 – and reach a top speed of 325km/h. The new Ferrari's mid-engined V8 produces more power than even the race-focused, circa-$600,000 F430 Scuderia, with 425kW produced at a stratospheric 9000rpm. That's 500rpm higher than the 430 to make it Ferrari's highest-revving road car yet. There's no shortage of torque, either, with 540Nm arriving at 6000rpm. Ferrari says F1 legend Michael Schumacher helped to fine-tune the handling of the 458, which the company says delivers even greater levels of cornering grip and superior stopping power to its predecessor. The sleek, 4.5m-long 458, the latest Ferrari to be designed by Pininfarina, takes design cues from the Enzo, though is also reminiscent of the fabled McLaren F1 supercar of the '90s when viewed from side-on. Maranello's latest masterpiece, however, offers plenty of its own design highlights. Ferrari 458 Italia Ferrari 458 Italia Ferrari 458 Italia Ferrari 458 Italia The front end features radical vertical LED headlights, the flanks are dominated by dramatic sweeping creases and muscular rear haunches, while the rear end is dominated by a triple-pipe exhaust system and F1-style rear diffuser. A European source told Drive the distinctive exhaust layout contributes to both improved emissions and a unique engine note through only the larger middle pipe being employed up to 3000rpm with the other two joining above that rev point. The F430’s quad circular tail-lights also make way on the 458 Italia for single round lights either side. Supercar enthusiasts will be pleased to see that the mid-engined V8 is still visible through the rear glass window. The 458 is cleaner-looking than the F430, with clever aerodynamics - honed in Ferrari's F1 wind tunnel to help suck the supercar to the road - allowing Ferrari designers to dispense with the prominent air scoops of the outgoing model. The single front grille and air intake opening also features flexible "aeroelastic" wings that, when speeds rise, bend to close up the intakes and reduce drag for higher speed and improved fuel efficiency. Ferrari hasn't released any interior photos yet but says the 458's "new kind of steering wheel and dashboard" are inspired by its grand prix cars. There will certainly be a new version of the steering-wheel-mounted Manettino switch, which allows drivers to alter a number of car settings. European motoring media had been expecting the new verson of Ferrari's best-selling model to be called the F450, but the company has reverted to an old naming system that started with the 308 in the early ’70s and is based on the car’s engine size and cylinder count – in the 458’s case, the 4.5-litre V8. The 458 Italia will makes its public debut at September's Frankfurt motor show. As with predecessors, further variants of the 458 will emerge over the next few years - including a Spider (convertible), Scuderia and (track-focused) Stradale versions. Ferrari told Drive in 2008 that it was developing hybrid technology that it could apply to future models, though the 458 is not expected to be offered with a petrol-electric drivetrain or turbocharged V8 petrol engines also under development. Ferrari 458 Italia Price: $520,000 (estimated) Engine: 4.5-litre V8 Power: 425kW at 9000rpm Torque: 540Nm at 6000rpm Transmission: 7-speed dual-clutch auto Fuel consumption and emissions: 13.7L/100km and 320g/km Weight: 1380kg 0-100km/h: 3.4 seconds (claimed)
  9. Def. makes driving a bit more fun when you're doing all this heel-toe stuff ... I really got into it recently after I built up my ride for the street with a M6 trans., it's been a pretty nice learning curve since ... late braking, heel-toe, take the proper line through the turn and then just mashing the throttle ... FUN! ... all this is done on the way to work and back on the days I take the TransAm; and evenings and nights when I take her out
  10. ... right behind you buddy! They're wondering if there's been other victims! lol, nobody's gonna tell 'cos they're more than happy about it!!!
  11. More...
  12. Here's pics from my Camera
  13. wow, that's like a race between Mitsubishi and Subaru ... aren't there any other makes that can be built to race? lol
  14. Looks like Oman plates SHAI ... lower the number, the higher the price ... this guy must be loaded!
  15. SHAI ... yeah a couple years ago. Sold that to buy the Explorer. After this trip, I wish I hadn't 'cos that had a lift kit and 33" tall tires on it ... although, the Explorer did extremely well and surprised everyone, it's just that there's not much aftermarket 4x4 mods for this model due to the independent rear suspension. Don ... lol fuzzo ... There were two Excursions on the trip and they did awesome. The trails weren't that hardcore so they managed it with ease. I think both had 6" lifts with 35" tires and one had a "Hybrid " sticker on the back to piss off the tree huggers ... lol ... had the trail been a lot more technical, they would've been left behind and the Jeep and the Bronco would've kept going.
  16. you'd think that someone who can afford that plate could afford something a little bit "premium" than that; yes I understand it's the most luxurious Toyota, but it's still only about $100K. Or maybe he spent all his money for the plates that he didn't have enough left over to buy a Rolls? lol
  17. Some pics that another guy took... ME... Me again... Lunch Break Perfect timing...you can see the brass being ejected, and the soda bottle exploding: some vids ... more to come Here's where we pissed off a local dude... Brian taking out his anger on Mr. Melon
  18. it's possible and has been done many times, just a bit hard to tune the jets/etc. 'cos a carburetor usually works on vacuum and you're basically applying pressure now. Typically, you'd want a "blow through" carb (which is expensive compared to regular carbs. But if you're running low boost, a regular carb could be tuned for it with the use of a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. here's a pic but in the end, a EFI engine is the easiest to work with for boost applications
  19. I'm sooooo waiting for TogGear to have the Stig drive this contraption around their circuit ... lol
  20. hey, it was fun going slow and not having to lift off the pedal on turns and the gear shift was like "go ahead buddy, throw it into wherever you want and I'll surprise you" 'cos it was so damn sloppy ... lol
  21. def. not my grandmother modeling it either .. lol I think I like it. It's obviously taking after the design theme of the XF and putting the old styling behind, not sure how the Jag faithful will like it though.
  22. So it was knocking/pinging due to pre-ignition (bad timing). It could even have been bad gas in your tank causing that. A lower octane than the engine is tuned for will cause this. Glad you got it fixed before it messed up your internals.
  23. ugh, the end of the world is near... I'm just waiting for when Lotus gets into the game too ... lol
  24. Bored after work and pissed off that the plastic headlights had got yellow and scratched up overthe years, I decided to finally tackle the headlights on the Focus (the daily driver) ... I think it came out looking pretty decent. I used wet sandpaper 600, 1000, 2000, Adam's swirl and haze remover and polishing compound. Took me about 15 mins per side. I couldve done better with a bit more elbow grease, but since it was my first time, I was more interested to see if I was making any improvement than final product lol... Click Pics for more.. before... after... Thinking of taking the headlights apart and painting the insides black ... too much chrome ... maybe when I get some time free soon
  25. if it had the performance to live up to its looks, I'd guess it's "okay" but not forgivable ... lol ... I've seen some some cars with huge wings and body kits and they can barely get out of their own way
