  1. If you couldn't find one for months, the last resort could be making one out of fiberglass. Not recommended and this will just serve functionally.
  2. As The Don said this could be pre ignition knock or detonating. It could be due to faulty ignition coil. Well at least I suspect because mine shows the same symptoms and I know one ignition coil is not too good.
  3. The difference is noticeable to me after you explained. Best bet would be finding the strut, but not sure anyone would sell it without the boot lid. Just a thought.. can this be done using a small spring although it could result in a bit of ejection than slow lifting.
  4. There is this shock filling place in Delkanda on highlevel road infront of super market. The name should be Sentra or something. Try asking them whether they do gas ones.
  5. Update: I followed the good advises and my heart to buy KYB (Gas). Replaced both at once with mounts and some bushing. Oh boy do I feel a difference.. its comfy..
  6. You are right. They are two different worlds. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Automotive-Windscreen-Scratch-Glass-headlights/dp/B005J52BY4
  7. If the scratches are small, headlight polishing person can help you me thinks.
  8. Agreed. Even previously I trusted the guy when he said alternator IC should be replaced. He burnt one in the very minute and got another one. Second one gave the same results of the original one before replacement. (aiyo salli)
  9. Small scratches are unavoidable machan. If you get a scratch on the sticker, it will be worse. Its like to protect the carpet, you put mats. On top of mats you put another cheaper rubber mat. And on top of that old news papers etc.
  10. I guess you got a point there. Even in the forum all are recommending those two brands. Kobe is fairly unheard of. The car rear is bouncing diagonally (or sways) when I did the push test. Thats a cry from one bad shock.
  11. Its a Mazda Familia. There is only one reference in the forum for Kobe. Cost wise its low (7k as per a shock basunnahe) but there could be adverse effects coupled. My google search says this could be from India and there is a Sri Lanka agency.
  12. Does anyone have experience with Kobe shock absorbers? All advices are on Tokiko and KYB. Thanks
  13. A tough clear coat might help.
  14. Update: Got the ECU checked and the person said it is different than what originally comes to the model. I need to take the car to him again some other day for a full check since he was bit busy that day.
  15. Better to wait a month or so for the chemicals to evaporate.
  16. I will do a check and update this thread. Probably it will take a couple of weeks to get a free day to do so. Fuse box is the place to start I beleive.
  17. Both fans start as soon as the accelerator is pressed even in the morning cold start with AC off. I'm not sure whether the previous owner has done something to the wiring but he has not treated the car well for a fact. I didn't notice any battery charging problem and the voltage is in optimum levels as per the battery guys. However when both the fans start, other electricals like the lights and fans go dim for a split second to negotiate the sudden draw of power.
  18. Thanks. I also think something must be wrong with relay. And the same electrician guy told me to get the ECU scanned since most of the Mazda functions run through ECU. I will get both checked and post if there is any update.
  19. Friends. My car is Mazda Familia BJ5P. Whenever I accelerate, both the radiator fan and the AC fan start. This happens even before the coolant temperature reaches fan starting point. I got a person to remove and check the alternator since he said it could be the alternator IC. Replaced the IC but still I'm seeing the issue. Anyone can think of a reason? Or is this normal? Thanks
  20. I did a hub razor replacement 2 years ago. It was about Rs.2000 per wheel. If the intensity of humm varies with the speed, this could be a probable hub case.
  21. I have a similar one. There are a lot of places to do beading stuff. I know one place near Navinna Arpico. Won't cost you much. WIndows beading is Rs.700. You should consider sealing the AC fresh air intakes as well. At this age of the car, fresh air intake door wouldn't seal itself. Any AC shop would do this for you.
  22. @ Priyanka - I will try that shop machan. @Jaliya48 - If the unit is there available I wouldn't mind the postage. Still couldn't find the item on it.. @Crosswind - I tried several search terms machan including tsunabe, wingroad etc. Still couldn't catch it. But forgot sentra.. thanks
  23. Friends My car is Nissan AD Y10. Some lowlife jerk has broken into the car while it was parked and taken away my car audio. He has broken the plastic panel around it as well. Here is where I need your help. I need to find a place to buy this plastic panel. I believe it is called stereo/center fascia panel which is running around AC vents, Ac controls and car setup. So far my search at dozens of shops in Wijerama, Nugegoda, Delkanda, Homagama failed. If I wouldn't be able to find the panel, I might have to use fiberglass to make the panel. Any thoughts? Thanks...
