Is this a serious issue? Does it affect any other parts of the car in the long run?

There is an intermittent hissing sound coming underneath the vehicle, not from the engine bay... what might be the problem guys? Vehicle is a 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer EX According to the owner this comes on cold start and disappears after some time.

We need toyota fans as much as possible... otherwise we wont be able to buy mazdas, mitsubishis for a less price! Post some pics when you buy your new toyota will you?

Do a search, lancelot. Virtues of owning a hybrid and non-hybrid has been discussed to death here. My 2 cents: There is no point in buying a hybrid if you're travelling only 36Kms under less amount of traffic; you won't save much on fuel. And if the hybrid battery start acting up within 5 years, you will be left with a loss; even if it didn't, hybrids are NOT known for holding their resale value. Lancer EX is a trusted workhorse and relatively not complicated; so it won't be a trouble maker. Plus, all the Lancer EXes here in SL are Brand-new imports and there is a specified agent for the brand. All the Lancer EX owners I know does their periodic maintenance at the agent. Lancer EX will do 10-14 Kms per litre; that's the norm for any 1.6 petrol engine. If you drive in less traffic-y roads maintaining a 10+kmpl FE wouldn't be hard; however FE depends on your driving style. With those two enormous red round tail lights and misshaped rear, aqua looks like its gang-banged and a$$-raped by aliens with huge D's. Lancer on the other hand, is in a league of its own when it comes to design and sex appeal. eye of the beholder tho. Driving pleasure wise, aqua cannot hold a candle to lancer. I've driven both cars. Aqua's GC is not meant for SL road conditions. As I said before search the forum; there's a butt-load of info on both cars. Lancer EX is discussed extensively at the BRATT thread. Google "BRATT autolanka" you'll find it. Why don't you go to the agent if you have full insurance? UM did a good job repairing and painting a considerable dent on my lancer.

I second what Rumesh said, do your homework and make sure the next car you buy won't worsen your back problem. And do open a thread and share your ownership experience with your new ride - or keep this thread updated. I for one really enjoyed reading all your adventures with the Presea... I really hope you would do the same with whatever the car you buy next... Don't hesitate to express how you feel about your ride. Whatever you do, please don't let this thread die. Even of you end up buying a maruti 800!

Stay away from LOLC and bj-shakthi. IMO c******o provides the best service. Never used SLIC tho so have no idea about their service
