Thanks. Didn't mean to be harsh on u . Sorry about that.. Yeah I copied and pasted, went through the spec.. have not placed the order yet. Did I say I have? Sorry If I did.. I have not. Bit mix minded whether to switch or stick with the beemer for one more year. I would ask opinion on that here, but after the response I got for this, thought later would be better . I wasn't trying to be thick headed, just sharing my inexpert views. Too bad u got me wrong.. I came here to learn something and that's what I intend to do. So this thread has gone wild and don't want it to be personal. and I apologise for the wording of my previous post if those offended u.

yes there is C450 AMG model.. According to MB, it's from AMG, but no idea what experts might say...

Well what our wonderful Sasika misinformed and mislead everyone with incorrect comparisons and careless oversight is this...the actual AMG for the C class is the C63 AMG. However, kind of like the path Magnum went on to...MB offers what is called an "AMG Line" for most of their cars. These are not performance tuned versions but simple add on packages to the usual cars.

@Sasika...sorry I don't have much respect for idiocy...especially the kind of idiocy that is possessed by ignorant people who lead other people astray even when the other person is in the right and then try to cover up their idiocy by doing more idiotic stuff....remember..monkey ? banana ? and here is a suggestion to you my dear sir..check your facts, try to understand it and organize it in a coherent manner before you start yapping...

Yes I agree with u that my posts are less arranged.. posting here isn't my job..For idiocy, maybe cz u don't know me personally, I'm ok and wasn't seeking for respect. But Being mistaken about a field he/she doesn't know is not defined in that way. I was posting what I got from agents when I inquired them before placing my order. So maybe I didn't know the difference. I said I have no Idea.. You sir can talk to people better than this,so u may earn some respect,if u need any Thank you for all the correcting you did. Learnt a lot from you. And as I can see you are an expert in this field. I am not, but I love cars and learn at my leisure... Been reading this forum for years without being a member.. sold all my cars through this, and bought some. And I love hanging around here and reading threads.. I'll have my posts arranged next time and see what the responses are.. Thanks

Actually sir, I wasn't salvaging anything... I was talking about the agents as u pointed out simple as that. Maybe I misunderstood Magnum as he was talking about the C63 AMG due to the tone of his reply. He mentioned 400bhp in that. That's why I was specifying the C63 AMG and the power of the C200 and the C180. Maybe you should look at people more politely. Just a thought. No I'm not a relative of the person u mentioned. Thank you Very much EDIT: Well the engine is different in the AMG model. not only the looks.. may not be the real one.. no idea 1.6 vs 2.0 150 odd bhp vs 184bhpWell the engine is different in the AMG model. not only the looks.. may not be the real one.. no idea 1.6 vs 2.0 150 odd bhp vs 184bhp" Maybe I should've said "AMG line provided by agents" and not AMG model.

As far as I know they are both turbo charged. If you look at the specs of the 'non-AMG" C200 you will see that the engine specs are pretty much the same.

The AMG you are talking about is just like what Magnum said...a "package". In Japan both the C180 and C200 come in what they call 'AMG Line" where what you get is pretty much the highest grade of either the C180 or C200 wih some bells and whistles like a body kit, larger wheels, etc...

I was referring to the spec sheets. It's AMG line, not AMG tuned engines

I guess in this pic either he is driving down a slope or using the hybrid battery power.

But the trip is 22km. The fuel economy figure resets when u reset the trip. I think the screen shows average economy done since last reset. Please shed some light whoever did this

Equivalent of the BMW M3
-
How did u achieve that for over 22 odd km? Rolling down a long slope?
-
little thirsty than toyota models maybe?
-
Well the engine is different in the AMG model. not only the looks.. may not be the real one.. no idea 1.6 vs 2.0 150 odd bhp vs 184bhp
-
yeah.. even if u dont have a permit, the AMG will cost as they say 11.6.. other a mere 10.6(as per last time I inquired)
-
You actually didnt think Mercs coming for permits don't have A/C in them right? Well since the permit thing came up, Let me post the spec sheets for The C200 Avant grade and the AMG version offered by D*mo for the permit. Looks okay to me. And a whole lot safer than the Indian maruti;)

Well the BMW streptronic system allows downshifts but feels kind of a jerkiness. Honda DCT will up shift every time I downshift if the speeds are too high (even in the sport mode). Specially that lead me think it might be bad for the transmission because the vehicle management computer rejects those moves. Thanks btw. I did that all the time in my previous K12 which was a manual

<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="The Don" data-cid="273164" data-time="1424953077">

You do so gradually in a manual transmission. I've not tried this with autos or tip tronic transmissions.

Transmissions are not flimsy pieces of kit. They are already built to handle the power of the engine and the effort of moving the vehicle. Now if you go down to too low a gear like an idiot from too high a speed, you are likely to cause harm to the transmission by putting too much stress. But if you just let go of the accelorator and change down gradually, it won't be an issue.

I asked you based on the uncomfortable feeling I got when shifting down(triptronic transmission). It feels like a heavy downshift even when u change a gear down with a lift up.
-
In my opinion both are extreme limits. enjoy while u can but don't bankru yourself while doing so
-
Or if you go through the Japanese menu, there's an option to turn it off. "-some jap lettersRFP".
-
Will shifting down to break exert an added pressure which can harm the transmission?
-
Well mostly I drive out of Colombo. Maybe that's why they lasted

I think it's the recommended as the user manual specifies that oil. I knew nothing about DPF but now I am reading thanks to you guys. Break wear maybe little high maybe cz of the way I drive. Well about the break wear sensor, what I mentioned above was regarding what the computer shows. It first showed 40k km and keeps dropping. That's why I thought it's programmed to 40k. And I don't think I will go to dealers again. They just rip us off.

I think it will take another year or so to establish that
-
May I know what issues? And who will sell it for one or 1.5 million less after using for six months? So there is no second hand market for vezels. (Not an established price range.) I'm not sure though. Saw one for 4.2 million registration CAA. In the car sale where I bought mine. Sadly it was after I bought it, not before
