  1. I remember once one of my friend had the same sort of issue with pulling power, and the culprit was the silencer ( as per him it was blocked) Cant remember what exactly he did to resolve it though... May be you can try removing the stock silencer from bolts (rear end) and do your thing to replicate the issue. If its no longer there, we could decide silencer was the culprit.
  2. Exactly, its pretty straight forward thing.. you can get it done from any garage even (if you know someone), or else as Rumesh88 mentioned "R@diator House outlets. Google for the branch nearest to you."
  3. hmmmmm... may be that's why people always suggest to repair or replace the gearbox, since there isn't any other solution
  4. Any update on this machan ??
  5. Try showing it to the agents machan .. I once contact a person who works in stafford, and explained him the symptoms .. What he told was to do a oil change and if the issue remains as it is.. you simply can't repair the gearbox, but you need to go for a recon one which will cost somewhere around 60-70k and you should be good for another 60 thousand km's
  6. That because most sell em before they reach the end of the life span.. I know a friend who is having a Insight with 60k on the clock and having the same gear box issues
  7. Well, I have same on my GD8... Unfortunately this is a common issue in Hondas.. Honda CVT's are popular for failures including the hybrids which came with CVT gearboxes.. Not quite sure who can do a permanent fix for this issue hmmm...
  8. Thanks for the headsup machan.. Im more worried about the knock/vibration i get.. not the sound.. The thing is when i bought the car i cant remember having this sort of knock(not 100% sure, but can't recall it).. I even hardly realized, that Ac is on/off.. But since I had many oil leaks, my garage advised to remove the whole engine from the car and replace all the seals (since oil was leaking from almost all the seals, so i wanted to replace all seals related to engine) Im just worried could this be due to that?? I mean after fixing something went wrong ?
  9. Hi Heaps I bought a Honda City 2001 model manual car few months ago.. And recently did few repairs related to oil leaks, and one engine mount was re-bushed since it was weak and also a tune-up. However, I's experiencing a knock whenever i run slowly. Knock is coming only when the AC kicks in and kicks out. Is this normal or should I be worried? Note : After warm up car idles in around 700-800 (not more than 800)
  10. Looks like i was correct too .. happy hunting.. If you need i'll give my mechanics no, he usually have stocks with him (all sort of cars recon fans). If he doesn't he will get one for you.. PM me if you need further details.
  11. yes check the coil pack.. that could be the culprit
  12. You can rebush the mount rather than buying the whole thing. This is really less expensive and gets the job done.. I did this for my previous Lancer Cb1, never had issues for 2+ years (even till the time i sold it).. It was done from panchi.. Not sure the shop name though since my mechanic got it done for me.. mounts doesn't worth 63000/- unless you have deep pockets
  13. mmmm.. ok.. My City is almost close to 128000km.. No sign of such radiator fan vibration, except for the gear box issue.. hmmmm
  14. yah probably fault in replaced belt.. go for a good brand ..
  15. May i know your current mileage of your Honda city? (i assume its has a 7speed cvt triptronic gearbox)
  16. Hi LancerL I've had the exact same issue with my previous lancer.. And found the root cause by myself. It was due to the radiator fan. Just perform following steps to identify the exact issue: 1. Open the bonnet 2. Start the car 3. Rev it or keep it running for a while till it gets warm up and radiator fan starts working 4. Once it does go near engine compartment and monitor how radiator fan works Mine had "bakalayak" the fan wings and everything was fine, but when it rotates bakal gagaha weda kare.. That's what was causing the vibration.. However I never replaced it since i didnt have any issue with cooling down the engine (even my mechanic told since its working properly and no heating issues, use till it's no longer working... unless i wanna spend money on a recon fan just bcz of the vibration..) however used the car for like almost 2+ years, never had an overheating issue or anything (it did work perfectly when i sold mine as well ) Since ur symtoms are more similar to mine, that could be the issue. Do have a look and keep us posted (as per my mechanic if u have a bakale, then cant do anything other than replacing it (may be someother fans do have a repair kit to fix it)
  17. oh is that so.. But last time i wanted to buy T5 bulbs, there were only few places (2-3 shops) which has those.. they were saying they don't have bulbs smaller than this (therefore i had to cut tiny bit from the edge to make those bulbs fit to my socket)
  18. No markings machan.. bulb is fully blown (totally black colored).. I couldn't find a service manual either.. (mine is a honda city 2001 model & honda city 2004 GD8 model)
  19. Thanks STIG.. Just curious there are bulbs with different voltage.. what should i refer to? for an example 6.5v or 12v or 4v
  20. Hey machan I have a Honda and im searching for the same size of bulbs (bath ate size). I was unable to find it in anywhere. Will you be able to point me to a shop or the bulb size so that I can order and get it down from somewhere atleast? Hope to get a responses ASAP. Thanks in advance
  21. Update guys ---------------- Replaced the worn out oil seal again. Cost me 1500/- oil, seal he didn't charge for the labor. I've been doing almost 200+km after this fix and it looks like issue is resolved. Thanks for your valuable inputs guys..
  22. I just talked to Access they don't seems to be having them.. Also called Teck motors.. they have it but he quoted 80k (yes it is 80 i asked twice) for brandnew rack (doesnt have recon ones with them)
  23. Thanks stig.. Im hoping to put my car to the mechanic tomorrow. however i call these no's and see whether they have stocks with them (in case i need to replace mine)
  24. if its the seals then that will be fine.. if its the rack only im so worried.. I remember the mechanic showed me that there is a tiny damage in the shaft (podi irak) but he said that should be just fine.. and then replaced the seals... but now im not sure. cz as per him if its the rack, there are no recon racks to be found.. even he isnt sure abt the brand new ones either.. is it that hard to find parts for a common car like this?
  25. Vibration could be most probably due to engine mounts.. However change you oil and see. Engine mounts gonna cost you alot i believe. I assume this car has gel mounts..
