  1. It would be great if you can provide those steps Davy. Thanks for all the help!
  2. Today only I was able to attend this, and Yes, there was water inside the door as Davy has suggested! There was mud blocking the duct About 3 liters of water drained when I cleaned it! Thanks again Davy! Hope that door is not corroded from the inside.
  3. Thanks Davy, I will try that. Considering the occasional heavy rainfall these days in SL, what you have mentioned is probably the reason behind the sound. It never occurred to me! Thanks. I've checked that already, but there's nothing that could cause such a sound in my car.
  4. Wow! That's a beauty! Congrats Davy!!
  5. Hi All, I've a 2003 Lancer CS3, and when braking and sometimes taking turns I'm hearing a sloshing/splashing sound which seems to be coming from the fuel tank. This first came when the tank was about half full and went away when it was full, and it didn't occur for some months after that, until I started to hear it again few days back. The fuel level was near empty by that time, and the sound didn't go away even after pumping full tank. Any idea on what might be causing this? Thanks.
  6. Hi All, There's lot of rust underneath the radiator in my Lancer CS3. Few weeks back I took the vehicle to the agents to get the timing belt replaced, and they said I should get the rust cleaned up as soon as possible, because it's somewhat in a bad state. I'm thinking of going to the Sisira guy mentioned by The Don. Does he undertake that kind of work? I live in Nawala and I've also heard about this Sampath guy in the Old Nawala Road mentioned by ThunderBolt. It would be pretty convenient for me to take the car there if he's a good/trusted technician. Please comment if anyone has worked with that guy. Appreciate it!
  7. You can always post an ad and check the offers - nothing to lose (except your peace of mind ) Though 2007 GLX (I assume yours is a GLX) is usually priced around 2.3 - 2.5M on ads, I guess many will try to get it for 2.1 - 2.2, or even less. I personally would have hate to sell a Lancer, and that's also only after 20 months. Unless there's some really really really good reason Cheers!
  8. My guess is 2.1 - 2.2M
  9. Thanks Davy and Crosswind. Yes, I understand that's not relevant now. Just wanted to know the full history of the car - out of curiosity.
  10. Yup that's the one I thought the registration book will have those details. Is there anyway to get those information? Guess the only way would be through the agents?
  11. If I recall correctly, nothing was mentioned regarding a Permit on the car-book (have to double-check). I hope we are not talking about two different ones If the 1st owner is a Professor, then we are talking about the same The 2nd owner is a batch mate of a good friend of mine. That's how I got to know the car was in a really good condition. He sold it because he also went overseas - otherwise he wouldn't have. I was so lucky to get her after searching for a lancer many months. I'm already in love with her
  12. Yeah Davy Do you know that one?
  13. Think I'm quite late here. You probably have bought her already. If so, Congratulations! She's one of a kind Anyway, I bought a 2003 manual CS3 about a month back for 18.5M. I also thought the appropriate price should be 18M, but went for +50K since it has done only 78000km and everything was in excellent condition - that car had been rarely used. Did a full check up by the professionals before buying. At that time there were 2003 CS3s from about 16M-18M, if I recall correctly. Ones for 16M was abused And many had done more than 150,000KM. Some even 200,000+
  14. Hey Crosswind, yes it is a 4G18. Happy to hear it's a great engine, and that it'll do fine with 92 Thank you very much! Thanks again Davy! I will start pumping 92. No use in wasting money on 95 if it doesn't add anything extra...
  15. Thanks for the prompt reply Davy! I already have the set of maintenance manuals - "CG-CH Workshop Manual" - shared in that same thread by you. But, as far as I understood, they are applicable to the 2004-2006 facelifts (CH?). Mine is a 2003 facelift. I will anyway check them again.
  16. Hi All, I bought a Lancer CS3 (2003-manual) recently and have been pumping Octane 95 due to a recommendation from a friend. Thought of opening this thread to get the inputs from experts on whether 95 is necessary, or it can survive using 92, without causing any harm? I did a search on AL, and what I could gather was GDI engines are the ones that require 95. Does that mean 92 is okay for my CS3? Appreciate your inputs, and thanks in advance. Cheers! P.S: This is my first post on AL, but have been reading the Lancer related threads for sometime - let's say extensively Posts on AL was a huge help for me on buying this beauty Appreciate a lot all the effort you guys put to help others.
