Hi Davy, Thank you for your reply. I posted the eco results to see if someone could spot anything from that. I am wondering what I have missed.
-
hmmm.. thats also true.. What does this unit do exactly (see pic)? this is just under the engine manifold. Can it be removed out.. I am thinking of disconnecting the flange right after the resonator and driving around to see if there is a difference as PerfMad suggested. But since there is no cat... i am wondering if it would make a difference with the acceleration problem.. as the problem is most probably related to heat.
-
Yes, my car has a catalytic convertor. I just checked with the car manual. But it seems that some garage guy has cut the flange before the convertor and welded the pipe without the flange (haiyo!) .... I will now have to cut the pipe to check its condition :s. please see pic link from the manual and the 2 attached images. https://postimg.org/image/bq03pbf69/

Update. hi.. I just passed the eco test. But just before the test I was asked to press hard on the accelerator and release it (i think for them to check for black smoke)..... when releasing the throttle I got a "phut phut" sound from the exhaust like a beat (it doesnt seem like an engine miss else it would have got detected on the test right?) . The car uses a stock silencer. Also the spark plugs (clearance was checked at the workshop), distributor and rotor are all new. It just occurred to me, could this acceleration take off issue be linked with the exhaust? Maybe a clogging catalytic convertor?

Hi Davy, Thank you for your advice. The gearbox was not removed to inspect the clutch... although the car was driven by the garage mechanic and he did the test that you have mentioned. The clutch was adjusted a little bit to minimize the play.... that was all that was done. I also did the test just now on a cold engine.. the car stalled.

I am not sure about the brakes.. how would I check? the front uses discs and the rear is drum. When you say binding do u mean that the brakes dont release properly? or is some internal component warped? I recently got the brakes serviced (about 2 months ago).

I drove the car about 50km today and at the end of the journey I opened up the fuel cap.. nothing happened everything seems normal, but I still had difficulty in taking off.
-
Hi Davy, When I engage the clutch very slowly i can control it... but I need to put in a bit more engine power (this is how I am currently driving)... very slow pick up but at least less vibration. If I engage the clutch normally the car shakes a lot. When the car is cold I can drive it normally though.

Oh right.. thanks.. I have not driven this car for this week yet. I will most probably take it for a drive tomorrow. I will check the fuel tank when it starts to give problems (Y)

Thanks for the info. I removed the air-filter and got to the carburetor. In my model there are 2 flaps deep inside. I noticed that as I press the throttle only one of the flaps open where as the other stays shut. I ran the car for a bit and still the second flap stayed closed. The second flap should also open right? Here is a link to the images of the carburetor. https://postimg.org/gallery/gqtyo6d4/

ok.. I might need to do that as I have to do the eco test again next month. The garage guy did say it might be the choke. Without removing the carburetor is it possible to see the condition of the choke?

Hi, here is an update. I checked the entire ignition system and there was nothing wrong with it. I went to 2 trusted electrical guys and they both said that it was fine. They advised me to go to my garage and check if the clutch pressure plate was alright. We checked the pressure plate and there was nothing wrong with it. The clutch was adjusted a little bit.. but still the problem persists. Now I have been advised to check (service) the carburetor... what do u guys think? This only happens when the engine is warmed up. help!
-
Thank you for your comment. I cleaned all the contact points involved in the ignition system except for the spark plugs and I felt a major improvement.. especially in the responsiveness of the car. After the engine warmed up I did get the shakes during take off but its very mild. So cleaning the contacts somewhat worked and the car is drive able. As you suggested it may be the ballast resister... but I dont know how to check if this works properly... I wasnt able to find the capacitor inside the contact points in the distributor. I have inserted the URLs below of the engine bay and components.. please tell me u can spot anything. https://postimg.org/image/gawsnq6af/ https://postimg.org/image/do34tbo5d/ https://postimg.org/image/vsuwt1vu9/

how do i check the coil pack? what are the steps?

Something funny going on with my old lancer. on a cold start in the mornings... the car is able to accelerate smoothly from stand still but as the journey progresses and maybe about half an hour into the drive the car slowly starts to struggle and vibrates heavily while taking off from zero on first gear. I replaced the distributor cap and rotor but I still have this acceleration issue. When I start the car the next day the same thing repeats... any idea whats causing this?

Acer Aspire R11 laptop convertible review, for anyone who is interested in buying a small versatile touchscreen convertible laptop. This computer is about 6 months old now and I guess I have used it enough to write this review. The reason I bought this machine is because I needed something light, portable with a very good battery life. The machine was bought in Singapore and it cost me about 55,000 Rs. The laptop uses an Intel pentium N3700 chipset (quad core 1.6Ghz) paired with 4GB ram and a 500GB hard disk. The display is an 11.6" touchscreen and the machine weighs about 1.5kg. There is an integrated webcam, microphone/headphone jack, Lan port, HDMI port, SD card reader, one USB 3 and one USB 2 port (pretty much everything you will need). Windows 10 was pre-installed. The computer is currently my daily workhorse mainly to view pdfs on the go, a lot of excel work (the processor is capable of processing large files with macros at a pretty decent speed), emails, and web surfing ( I always keep about 15 tabs open all the time and the computer works just fine). This computer cannot be used to play games, video editing or work on graphic intensive software like AutoCAD or solidworks the processor won’t be able to take it. This was one of the few models with the pentium chipset. I felt that the atom or celeron processors although giving promising battery life wouldn’t be able to cope with the work I needed to do. Moving up the range was the core i3 which were much heavier, more expensive, less battery life and was out of my price budget. The keyboard is very punchy. I get decent travel on the keys and I never seem to get tired while using it; the key spacing is quite good except for the portion where the arrow keys are located; 6 keys cluttered together making it difficult to move around using the arrow buttons (but that’s when you use the touchscreen). The machine gets a tad bit warm underneath but it’s barely noticeable. I rarely use the machine on tablet mode. Although the 360 hinge is very neat, I like that fact that on tablet mode the display rotates and provides a portrait screen which is really useful for reading and browsing through forums and fb. I charge the computer every night, and run the machine on battery power for the rest of the day as I move around a lot. Overall the machine performs quite well, although I get a slight lag while running graphic intensive browser tabs. I recently upgraded the machine with a Samsung 250 GB SSD. This was the only upgrade I made as I had an extra SSD on hand. I used the 500 GB HDD as a backup. Trust me this upgrade made a world of a difference in terms of speed and loading time and I encourage anyone who is using an HDD to try and upgrade to an SSD. This took care of all the little lags and gave me a huge amount of battery life as well (no moving parts in an SSD). I am now able to get about 8.5 hrs to 12 hrs of battery life per day (12hrs if the screen brightness is set to minimum… this is with the wifi running). The laptop is a good budget pick for coffee shop hoppers who like to do light work and watch a couple of videos on the go, it does the basics right, but not so great for using graphic intensive applications and definitely not for games. If u have any questions regarding this laptop just drop a comment I would be glad to help.

SLT guys came to my place yesterday and told us they will give us a new fibre connection and will swap the new number with the old one. This will take about a week to 10 days as they have to attend to breakdowns due to the floods. Once the swap is made and the old number moves to the fibre line.... I then see no reason in not canceling the old line with the new number. The fibre connection cost is 7500Rs (apparently promotion for this month) . Going fibre is only possible if a distribution point is close to the location.
-
haha .. thats exactly how it would happen. A faster connection speed invariably will consume more data. Dialogs is offering a 25+25gb for 1400Rs (per month) +2900Rs connection fee. I get 4G speeds on dialog for my mobile at home and its pretty good. where as the same package with lankabell is 950Rs (per month) + 2000Rs connection fee. Lankabel looks good cost wise, but I am wondering about the performance. Anyone has experience with the lankabell 4G broadband?
-
Yes, I spoke with SLT.. they said fibre is available but I will need to pay 7500Rs for them to connect it up. They will also need to come down for an inspection. I am wondering.. if I get the fibre connection and once it drops down to 64kbps... shouldnt I be getting a faster 64kbps than what I am getting now? fyi. I am using the normal 64kbps connection to send this message. I have run out of data

Watched Captain America civil war and the Jungle book.. both great movies
-
I actually have the slt 30+30 package. This is not enough for us. I am looking at enhancing the data volume at a reasonable cost. One other package I am looking at is the lankabell 4G which gives 25gb+25gb at 950Rs per month for 4Mbps download. I like to know whether this package would be good enough.

Mitshubishi Outlander 2.4 Liter Fuel Consumption
Iced-T replied to zenonmanesh's topic in MITSUBISHI
I just looked at this vehicle two days ago as I too was looking for a new car. The fuel consumption is 7kmpl. -
I am looking at the lankabell 1mpbs connection that has unlimited data. Any idea if this is a good connection?
