I couldn't find the exact photo of the thumbnail I posted above so here's another full pic of the same model. Actually by older and newer models I referred to Toyota Camry we see regularly in SL not specifically this wagon model. What I was following was a Mark 2 Grande x100 model I think. Looking it up, I came across the Qualis and found that it’s originally a Camry Wagon 😀 So it’s your floor iRage.

They were available in my father's office. And I was shocked to hear that my current car also powered by an engine originally designed by this manufacturer. Yes, the current owner of the car had bought it in 2020 and has done all the above mentioned repairs from time to time. But he also suspects that owner/s before him may have abused the car badly. My mechanic said there were signs of an accident repair too.

Thanks iRage, seems what's mostly available (listed for sale) from 2007/08 time are Axelas rather than 3. Cannot exactly say which is which as I'm yet to go and check one. I'm on the look for a 2nd car and looking at many options. These go for around 6.5 - 7 mil with 150K+ mileage, some nearing 200K too. Even the 2007/08 Demios with same mileage are around 5 mil mark. Had a demio with CVT, Projection light and many options checked. Turns out the original CVT box has been replaced with a recondition one and so many mechanical repairs done and some ABS related things are around the corner.

My point too... True this. If you drive through kohuwala road, many latest EVs are in show cases. Some MG's has come recently and now there's a big hype for BYD. There's a separate showroom too in ibbanwala junction. Going towards EV's are good but without the required facilities I'd be much worried to buy one.

Carefully looking at the current economic situation in SL, fully lifting the ban on vehicle imports would be a far fetched idea. No matter the economy, our people will bring down whatever car they can afford. There's some story spreading that up to 7 years old vehicles will be allowed to import but personally I don't believe it at the moment. IDK what the new government's policy on this matter. But there maybe some kind of a life on importing vehicles where they may allow certain domain/category to be brought down like public transport etc. Personal vehicles just as old times? In near future? I'm not sure but there was the headline about EVs everywhere. I see many EVs from brands like Mustang, Porsche, Peugeot etc. Where/what is the future for them in Sri Lanka? Could they all end up like Nissan Leafs?

You mean that Export variant which is the 3 of this time may have Automatic tranny where the JDM Axela may have CVT boxes right? I think we can identify the engine by looking at the VIN to find which exact model we are looking at. I read we can feel the difference of AT and CVT just by driving and experiencing the gear shift. Some listed cars mentions the transmission as Tiptronic. This is a variant of the AT as I understand. Am I correct?

Sorry for bumping up an old discussion but this is Mazda3/Axela related. About this era (2007 - 2010) models, did they come with CVT or Auto Transmission? I tried Wikipedia but couldn't get a clear idea. Comparatively I guess CVT's are better right?

Hi experts, I am not a fan of K-drama but recently found that I may have a love for their cars , specially this one below, the Elantra. Actually I am looking for more info and guidance to verify I'm going in a good direction. I'm interested in 2010/11 5th Gen model and this would be my 2nd car (owns a Vitz) and I'd use it as a daily driver. Fuel economy is not a big concern but would like to know average numbers from people who have driven the car. What I really want to focus on is, repairs, parts availability, known issues if any, safety, ride pleasure and comfort. There are not many available for sale in popular sites but I'm keeping an eye. Before actually inspect/test drive one, I like to know more about the car. Your inputs are much appreciated.

If the owner is in a rush and you need time to check everything properly, you can ask the owner to give a power of attorney to a close relative of his to finalize the transaction one all the details checks out. You should not initiate transaction just because the other party is in a hurry, specially in a scenario like leaving the country.

Sound output is very decent and clear. Has more sound and power than the OEM speakers, you feel it. Bass is also decent and pleasing for the ears. It will not move your ear drums and doors though. So far I didn't feel any vibration in doors and panels. Hope you know it will not sound like a powered subwoofer type Bass. But good enough for the small car of mine.

Hi experts, My KSP130 has done over 100K now. After around 90K I started hearing a small sound ("tak/ටක්") coming from the front left tyre area (as I understood) especially noticed when taking a sharp slow turn followed by a bumper or a slope. About the same time, my service station supervisor also mentioned that front shock mounts are worn out and may need a replacement along with the front link rods as they were also going out according to them. I didn't replace at that time but did replaced front shock mounts and links at last service near 100K. But the problem is still there but this time I hear the same sound at described events and also from the rear of the car. I hear it even when braking and starting to reverse some times. I think of taking the car to a reputed place and have it checked. Any ideas what's actually wrong and a good place you know that can solve this issue? Thanks.

So I completed installing the new speakers on both sides. Doing the passenger side door was more easier and did with much more confidence with the experience from the driver side door. Center console wire harness clip was a smaller one and had no issues removing it. Did not drill out the rivets because of the smaller mount came with the speakers. Ripped off the factory speaker and inserted the new one. On this side, factory speaker wiring was pink and purple where pink is the Positive (+) and purple happens to be the negative (-). Just thought someone will find this useful. Here are some pics from the job. Above door panel photo shows the plastic clip locations. One clip came out as I was removing the panel as you can see one empty socket near the speaker grill. I put it back on before putting it back. However I think I missed/broke one clip on the driver side door as I feel a little play on it near the speaker side. I though to get a new clip and put it on that panel. How it looked in the end 🔽 With this DIY and the experience and satisfaction I got, my brain gives me more ideas . Let's see and will update If I'm further doing related upgrades as DIYs.
