It was designed for the event, but we are trying to have it given out on a permenant basis for our weekend fun, MAS has chalet's that the give out for the weekend. fully worth the stay over. Cheers

Are you ref: to the one at madapatha road or the one at Japan friendship road? The latter has been closed off for security reasons, the other place is ok but residence are the problem. Why not make a trip to Thulhiriya next weekend for the 4x4 Jamboree 2009, you can put a novice entry. Try your luck out man.. Cheers

Has anyone you know or your car been failed by the ECT tests that are mandertory...I'd like to know.

HI guys, I have a querry for the Mech savy... whilst being tested dosen't the composition of the fuel matter? and also some guys say that they chech if the oil tempreture in diesel to be 70c if so what of the various oils in use you have synthetics/Minerals/ multi grades etc. Do the test places check and calibirate their units according to them. I also heard from an guy who use to do testings in Canada that the test units have to be calibirated each morning prior to the tests and Zero the units. Is this being done in Sri Lanka. I think they should appoint one fuel station also that will pump only certified correct octane level of Petrol & diesel as this too will change the readings. I feel that our law makers should first announce a Benchmark for these testings and then inform the public of their rights. I also think that the testing organisations should be held accounatble for the engines blowing up!!! No civilised person is going to rev an engine beyond 3000Rpms unless they want it to blow up...and also why are the checking the belts??/ Pls enlighten.. Cruiserhead

PROMOTION at EXCEL WORLD for 4x4 Challenge 2008 Date ; 4 – Oct – 2008 Time : 2 PM onwards. Promotion Partner: REAL FM & EXCEL WORLD The Final Scrutinizing of All Competition will be done during this event, giving a chance for spectators to view the 4x4 Racing Machines, in their clean state before they go out for the rigorous 4 Day Challenge in Dambulla. REAL Radio will invite its listeners to join in the spirit of 4x4, and register for 2 Lucky spots in the Marshalling Vehicles, to witness the action in an all inclusive 4 Day Trail Ride. The challenge is “Are you ready for the REAL world of 4x4?” The qualifier for the 2 Slots will begin with a pool of Listeners Registering for this opportunity. The Radio station will call on Air 20 Lucky Listeners who successfully answer questions related to 4x4 Knowledge, Camping Knowledge and Jungle Traits. This Lucky 20 will be put the test on the 4th, where the highlight of the promo will to qualify for the 2 Spots. The 20 Finalists will be given Simple Tasks and Be Timed, such as Fixing a Triangle with Nuts and Bolts wearing a Winch Glove. Splice a Rope. Put Up a Tent. Rig a Stuck 4x4, Change a Tire. Use the Hi Lift Jack etc, all based on Fun elements. The Winner will be given 2 x spots where they can invite a friend to go on the trip. Glad to see the 4x4 scene is spreading it's fuel around... All this looks like good fun... but rember any cruising is safe & responsible cruising...(not to burst any bubbles) Always plan ahead, check the terrain and also keep your guide informed of your plans, Unfortunatly I know of few people who have gone over the limit and are basicly stoped from entering these places. Hey Velocity! First of all "WELCOME" to the cruiser family!!! Negombo event was great glad you could make it there.. I will post some pics, you have to give me bit more time. Just to keep all 4x4 guys interested the 4x4 Challenge 2008 is set to happen from the 10th - 14th October, location I'm not at liberty to disclose until finalised. Congrats! Let me welcome you to the world of Cruiseheads DIMS. It certainly was a wise choice for you to select a very reliable vehicle to do your biddings in. Dear Members Well it's finaly done, the new law curbing Emmission Control has come been implemented, this will come into effect from the 15th of July 2008. Does anyone know of the limits these emmissions are tested, will each vehicle be tested in its own class or as per the original emmissions of the year of manufactur or specs given by the manufacturer. This decission is a big hit for Diesel vehicle owners, Min. Patali Ranawaka states that no vehicle will be issued with the revenue license if they fail the test, is this test a one time only or is the owner given a chance to rectify the problems. If NO, what are the implecations, does it mean the poor bas**rd has to throw his vehicle into the sea and travel around in a sorry excuse for public transport, what of the sorry bas**rd who has spent his life saving to own a vehicle he bought second hand and over 10 years old? Will the government give him a subsidary to by a new car that complys with the so called Emmissions rates? Do public transport vhicles also fall in to these testings? NO...Why? Why are indivuduals and private citizens with the right to live or the right to own a vehicle been taken for a ride. This I belive is another scam to suppress the common man who enjoys his last specles of freedom, Is it fair by the people that persons who they sent to the big seats; drop such a heavy burden on the common man? Is not their own escort vehicles that rush around spewing thick black smoke without cares to the environment. My fellow citizens this out cry is of a simple common man who enjoys owning his only vehicle, who can't afford big money to higher pruchase brand new vehicels and I'm sure I'm not alone. Isn't it time the decission maker hear our concerns? We need to address this... How? when? where? is something we have to look into... Cheers

WANTED...! Looking for a dual or single BP (Bull Power) semi optional cart as an alternative means of transport to battle the increase in fuel. The bulls should be maintenance free running with minimum requirement of PUNAK! Cart should be a convertible with minimum of handbreak and seats willing to compramise on comfort for saving of finances. Please contact 77 BULL - SHIT Willing to pay good money...

I heard that it was a Standard Spec Yellow Wrangler that won the whole event...and further more it was a novice entry..., There is hoep for novices in this sport. Just goes to show Brains work better than Brawn.. Good one.

I think the best deal would be to invite a guy who has a capable vehicle to join up with your gang and use the spare money to fund your fuel & logistics. I would also advice you to contact some locals and find out if the situation and travell routes are clear. Happy Trailing Cruiserhead

Hey... As far as I know you need to have a booking for more than 2 days and also you need to inform the warden of your intensions, there were some issues of not letting civilians cross over to block 2 due to the security threat. Best check before you go. Happy Trailing Cruiserhead

For all you guys...here are the final standings, 1st Themiya - LR Disco 2nd Indika - LR Defender 3rd Ajith - Nissan Patrol 4th Deepthi - Wrangler 5th Osanda - LR Defender 6th Buddhi - Mitsubishi J44 It is truly unfortunate that the organisers have to take all the critisisum that the event was not run properly when the competitors have been informed of the fact that first day was a scoring run and the second day will be a timing run. 15 Vehicles were selected for the timing run as certain competitors had their scores tied, including the dynamic duo of Indika Sanjaya and Suresh Chathuranga. Osanda was outstanding with his big score on the first day. A big congratulation goes out to cool man Themiya for winning the event and over coming all the competitors and proving that brain is definitly better than brawn! It is also unfortunate that sports have to be mixed with petty politics. X

Now you got the idea boys...don't critisise things that you don't know of. Anyways let's call a truce! Atleast us boys & girls in the motering scene should be able to show the rest how to make peace. I must make mention I am very dissapointed about the "Marathonrally" website that keeps updating the RFC results have put down our boys reputation by calling them the Broken Down Landrover Challenge...did you guys see that post and they also call Osanda creation a topling boat. I think it's very unfair for them to put us Sri Lankans down, We have been cornered and subjected to racisum...We need to put the records straight.
