Hi, I visited Laugfs for car service last week, they informed me now they are having 5W 30 full synthetic engine oil where can be run 10K kms, the 4L price also below Rs 5K, considering cost factor + long mileage I shifted to Laugfs oil from Toyota simi Synthetic oil, can you give me your opinion with this fully synthetic oil and advise did I do wrong thing? my car details as follows, Brand : Toyota Model : Passo Mileage : 46K Kms Rgds

Hi @gayanath Noted your point, is there any possibility to track in fuel pump issue at the engine tune up stage ( normally they do scan as well), In my experience with previous car, there was a knock while long running and car was not moving, then I stopped engine and started after 10 -15 minutes, them car started as normal and I was able to run another 30 -40 kms without any stop, I met technician and requested to replace interject flugs, clear all those things and did scan as well, there wasn't any errors, I was cost about 20K for the process, but after few days the same knock was happen and engine was never started, then only came to know that the problem was due to mulfuntion of the fuel motor which was fully of dirties

Hi @Amila_Silva If I use Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W 20, what would be the suitable oil filter reference of Mobil 1?, Noted, Air filter is not much related to engine oil I use and will continue with same Toyota air filter, I am using Oct 95 fuel and almost 40K kms done, thus do I need to change fuel filter by next engine tune up? if so what would cost me Rgds

Hi @Amila_Silva Thanks for your valuable instructions, noted all those points and I planned to use Fully Synthetic oil (0W 20) from next service onward since I can run up to 10K kms, do I need to use specific oil filter and Air filter to fit the oil or can I use currently use filters? current oil filter ~ 0-117 ( Toyota) Air filter ~ 17801-21060 ( Toyota) Appreciate your suggestion Rgds

I am still in a decision making stage, please see below points and let me know your suggestion I searched oil price for Mobil 1 Annual protection 0w 20, but the oil is not available in many stores I could find Mobil Advance fuel economy 0w 20 which is not specially mentioned duration on it's specification, the price is Rs 10,400 4L , if I go with 10W 30 , the oil price is Rs 5,700 4L and can be done two times services when compare with above oil price considering all those thinks you still recommend to use synthetic oil for next service ?

Hi , I have Laugh warranty, anyway I decided to use mineral base oil 10w30 which is currently using due to below factors oil price is too expensive if I shift to Synthetic oil, as per my garage technician normally synthetic oil used for long running vehicles where main benefit is to fuel saving Synthetic oil use for specific condition such as high temperature etc.., in my case there is no such due to short run per day Hope you agree with my decision Rgds

Hi @Kavvz All are clear now and no confusion at all, considering overall, I would go synthetic oil for next service which will help to save money. however before that will check with agent where warranty is still there if I change the oil at this stage, moreover as I came to know oil change would not impact for warranty as long as use recommended specifications Thanks a lot for you all valuable time and resources used to explain on this topic in detail. Hi All, I had read all the conversations and got confused what oil that I would use for next service, can you let me know what my understanding is correct Currently I am using Toyota 10W30 which is mineral base oil what I came to know and the mileage what I can go around 5K kms If I need to extend oil change period I need to shift to synthetic oil from the mineral base oil noted Laugh oil is not recommend and I will not use them the synthetic oil that you can propose is 0w20 and I can continue with Toyota brand with 10K kms odometer ready as 35K kms and there won't be any impact for the engine if I change the engine oil from 10W30 to 0W20 at this stage Appreciate your guideline with this regard Rgds

Hi, I bought reconditioned car and mileage was 18K at that time, it is a warranty period and Laugh Car care is the nominated service argent, they decided the oil type at the first service and continue so on, if I go with option 1, I think agent won't agree with warranty as they compel to do next service after 5k, now my reading is about 35K and is it OK to change oil type at this stage ( option 3 ) , they recommend to use their oil (Laugh oil)

Hi, Thanks for valuable information, yes mealy 1L remaining in each service, now I am having nearly 3L, and hesitate whether it use for this service or not. last service done on Jan 2020 and nearly two months parked at garage due to Covid lock down.

HI , I am using Toyota 1000CC small car, normally I buy 4L engine oil at the car service and after fill the oil around 1/2 L remained, so next service I used that remaining oil with new lot, I much appreciate your thoughts that is there any impact for the engine if I continue to mix up engine oil at any service..

I also agree with you, it is less hassle, regarding hybrid vehicle, entire fuel savings will be vanished when battery replacement & and other repairs, my recommendation is not to buy this vehicle
