Deteriorated window beadings - Lancer CS Origin window beadings of my car has been faded and deteriorated as shown in attached image. Is there a way to restore those back to original condition? Request of information on service interval - Lancer CS 2 Currently I do car service within 5000 km using Mobil 15W 40 oil. Since I'm daily runner, 5000 km is usually completed by 1.5 months. Putting 10,000 on each 1.5 month seems hazzle for me now. When I checked with service station they reccomond to do service by every 10,000 km using cas*tr magnetic synthetic oil 15W 40. I need to know whether it's ok to do lube service on 10,000 km interval. If so what type of oil should be used. Till today, car engine is properly maintained and expect to keep same condition without any harm for engine. Appreciate your responses. Image of mentioned oil is attached. Hi All, I use Mitu Lancer car which has H4 halogen lights with 60/55 W producing yellowish lights beams. The intensity of light is very low making it hard to drive in the night. When checked with few electricians they reccomond to change to higher wattage 75W and change the wiring too. But when checked on options available, I came through some brands claiming producing higher light with same wattage. I need to know whether it's ok to use bulbs producing high light (with 60/55 W) without changing wiring. During tune up, throttle body was cleaned. They mentioned that injectors and IACV has also cleaned, but I could not be physical be at location while this goes on. Plugs and air filter has been replaced. Fuel filter not cleaned, which I have to get done by some other time within next months. Shall I adjust idle rpm and see how things goes on

Thank you for the guidance provided. I did tune up last week, but after the tune up following observation was made by myself. Car is CS 2 auto EFI one mgf in 2007. Now car's idel is at 1000 rpm (with A/C). When the car is at Parking gear and steering wheel is turned, there's little revv and idel up by around 200 points. When the steering wheel is released it comes to normal idel level. This is slightly seen when the car is at Drive gear. Is this normal for Mitsubishi cars, I have not seen this in Toyota or Nissan. High rpm of Lancer CS 02 In my car, lancer CS 2 EFI one, mgf in 2007, I observed below issues while driving. 1. High rpm (1100 rpm) when at idling and running in low speeds (most of the times in idling and running below 20 km/h, seldomly it becomes normal level of 700 rpm when at idling) 2. Small Vibration of car when increasing speed for 10- 60 km/h - mostly experienced when increasing speed after stopping. 3. Fuel consumption of 12.5 km/h on highway driving between 80-100 km/h - which I feel quite low. Can you please provide your opinions on what the issue could be, will tune up provide a solution? I'm about to buy the required spares for the car during this weekend, namely Engine mounts, timing belt - Getting from agent Rack ends, Hub bearing, Ball joint, Bushes - Please suggest good Japanese reliable brand & reliable place to buy Front two shocks - KYB brand - Is this good alternative solution and where to buy genuine parts? Can you please suggest reliable Japanese brand for mentioned suspension parts and reliable place to buy those? Most of the mechanics are complaining that the part quality differs a lot even though those are Japanese and propose to use 555 brand. Is it a good brand for suspension parts? @trinity Mine is white CS 02 bearing wp number plate.

Dear All, Thank you very much for your replies. I understood that this is JDM MX-E model, but when searched no much information of option comparison between these models. The car went through the inspection process today. Main outcomes were as follows 1. U*M can't identify mileage tampering since data on ECU related to this is not there. Mileage tampering must have been done some time back. 2. Replacement of below parts/spares which are usual running repairs except last two points. Oil pump o-ring, all hub bearings, rack ends, ball joints, stabilizer bar bush, shocks, balance bar bushes, brake caliper pins, timing belt, engine mount, ABS sensor, windscreen and seat cushioning. Need your opinion on below points 1. Agent quoted a sky rocketed price for the spares and repair which I believe is not mandatory for 13 year old car. I checked with Da*na*y*k motors and W*mal motors for parts, they both have brand new Japan parts from other brands, not the genuine mitsu part importing by agent. Out of the above list, I can't afford to do complete list at once, so decided to go in the order of engine mount, ABS sensor, timing belt, suspension parts, windscreen (small crack) and seat cushioning. I need your advice on selection of spares for the car. Budget would be my contraint, but I do not want to have un-reliable parts on the car since it's daily rider around 100 Km per day. Above mentioned shops had below parts. engine mounts (Rs. 6000 each)- Malaysian or Thailand available - No Jap available - Is it ok to use this or advisable to have genuine one Timing belt only (Rs. 4000 each) - Jap brand - Is it ok to use this or advisable to have genuine Hub bearing, Ball joint, rack ends - Jap brand - Is it ok to use this or advisable to have genuine Bushes - Malaysian brand - Is it ok to use this or advisable to have genuine Can you please provide your opinions on selecting the spares. I'm intended to buying the car still, as most of these are running repairs.

Dear Hyaenidae, Thanks for your reply. What I referred as number "2" is the last digit in the model STJE 2 Yes, only concern I'm having is the doubt of mileage tampering. As I feel, current owner has not done any tampering since he has done only 10K by himself, but I might be wrong also. I have to wait till I receive inspection report on tomorrow. Any particular points that I can ask from technicians to check on tomorrow at car inspection in order to identify mileage tampering and engine/gear box condition.

Dear All, I'm replying to this tread as this refers to buying a Lancer. Please pardon me if I'm using the wrong thread. After selling my previously used car, I was checking for a CS 3 triptronic car from some time back, but unfortunately that was not a success. Though few cars have been inspected, all of those are not acceptable condition. I came across a CS 02 car very recently and I'm satisfied with the condition of the car. Details of car as follows Lancer CS 02 recondition model Model No:- CS2A STJE 2 Type : Recondition YOM:- 2007 YOR:- 2010 In the model number I understand "CS2ASTJE" part , but not the number 2. What is denoted by number 2 in this model? I checked forum on how to identify EFI/GDI engines, as my knowledge I feel the car is having EFI engine due to below attached picture. Can someone confirm whether this is EFI? Can dashboard is different than the brand new CS series and it's attached. Hope there are no specific issues related to this model. Few more points that I need clarification from Lancer experts are 1. Is there any specific issues with this model of the car as your know? 2. Immediate things that need attention on as I inspected are replacing windscreen, front ABS sensor, paint dicky room & car undercoat (signs of corrosion development), engine tapet cover and oil seal replacement (signs of oil leaks) and interior cleaning. Due to these, owner agreed for 2.4 Mn. Is this reasonable price with respect to market prices for CS 2 recondition model? 3. I have scheduled to have Unit#d Mot#rs inspection on tomorrow at Rathmalana workshop. Is there any specific point that I need to have look during the inspection process? Special Note:- Car has not been maintained at agents and no previous service/maintain reports not available with current owner. Is there a way mileage can be cross checked. When inquired from Unit#d Mot#rs they said it can be done, but as per my knowledge mileage tampering can't be identified through scanning. please provide your views on this as well Sorry for the lengthy post, I appreciate your prompt responses in this regard since car inspection and final decision will be taken on tomorrow.

Hi All, After selling my current vehicle, I was looking for a one. My budget is 2.85 Mn at max, so I kept my search to below cars with auto transmission. 1. Lancer CS 3 2. Yaris 3. Vios Personally I prefer to drive CS 3 after reading threads on AL. I checked one CS1 and two CS 3. One CS 3 GLX seems to be ok with following thoughts. 1. Unimo manager used - but currently vehicle with car sale guy (using for 1.5 years now) 2. Mileage 140000 km - seems like genuine, 3. Repainted some parts - 40 percentage area of car. 4. No ruttling noises when driving Seller agreed to check car at U***mo. He's asking 2.85 Mn for the car. I need to have lancer experts opinion on whether it"ll be worth to pay that amount for a cs 3 car. Appreciate your responses. Hi All, Recently I bought a viva elite auto car (2011). Recently I noticed small vibration in both the front tyres, which is in noticeable level. It's observed when the car is started and not moving. I replaced front shock mounts, one engine mount and done wheel alignment after the repairs. What could be the issue, though it's small now, I"m afraid it might lead to major thing. @matroska At starting rpm is around 1200 - 1500. Yes, abnormal revving is there and I'm aware that battery power is low since it was in stand still position for more than two months. The sound comes from front lower side of car. I have uploaded sound to soundclound and sharing the link below. Thank you. But once car is running, sound is normal, rpm around 900. Only at the moment of starting this abnormal sound generates I have a sound clip of it, which I can't attach here.

Recenty I bough a viva elite 2011 auto car. When starting the car, ignition sound is higher than usual elite car. Mileage is around 72k. What can be the issue? Starter motor checked and no issue was raised by the mechanic. I cross checked starting sound with few other elite cars, but mine generates around 50% more sound. What could be the issue
