FC=6-7km/l city, 10-11km/l outside of city (automatic trans) MC=very reasonable (comparatively less than most Jap) SP=dealer is good, panchi has some shops, ebay I own a 2006 auto 2.0L for the last 10 years. Its been great. No major headaches.

I bought it from Nikape, Dehiwela Dulux paint shop. It comes in a 500ml bottle. Mixing ratio is 1:2 or 1:3 with water. Apply with brush and leave it on for few minutes. Don't allow it to dry. Then wash off with water. Clear instructions on the bottle. I actually didn't mix mine. Just applied after wetting the tank. Wanted it to work hard cos I had lot of surface rust to be loosened off as you can see from the pics. I applied one coat. Then rinsed off. Applied second coat and used a light wet sand paper to further loosen the rust. Then rinsed off again.

Thanks Davy. You can see the rust holes on the top right. The surface rust I cleaned with Dulux rust remover. So the tank is less brown now ? I will take to a body shop and see. Who can conduct the pressure test ?

DId you clean the MAF sensor ? I had a low RPM engine knock and it went away after the sensor was cleaned. Try the cheap fixes first.

Hi.... i have two rust spots (size of five rupee) on the top side of the tank. Could someone please advise on a reputable place to get it fixed. Its for a B12 and I doubt I could find a replacement tank. Tks.

Hi everyone, I topped up the ac gas as suddenly overnight I lost cooling. I went to at*o in Nugegoda for the top-up. They checked the system and there was no pressure. Said there is a leak and need two days to fix cos they need to remove the dashboard to get access to the evaporator core. I just told them to top-up for now and that I will see. Well the next day morning, no cooling again. So seems there is a considerable leak. I washed the car yesterday and when i was holding the water hose to the front grille, I noticed some sort of oil (not engine, atf oil) mixed in the collected water on the ground. I suspect it came from the condenser side. So it could be the leak is at the condenser. My question is.... can I tell them to check the front end cooling components first for leaks BEFORE removing the dashboard and getting access to the core. I don't want them to unnecessarily remove the dashboard if this leak can be fixed at the front. Thanks !

Try the least costly options first. I had a similar problem when the engine was on load. No ECU error codes. Checked fuel volume - it was normal. Then on AL, it was mentioned to try by cleaning the MAF sensor. It worked for me.

Neat job. Well worth the effort and patience. Just one thing...its too late now but did you apply any multi-bond adhesive to the inside of the cover lining ? I feel after some usage the cover might twist a little around the steering wheel since only friction is holding it properly wrapped around.
