  1. Hi Rumesh Thank you for the explanation. will it be possible me to re-set this TPS ? and how can i test the ELD unit is working or not.
  2. Kusumsiri this may be re-calibrate the IACV after whole ECU reset due to power disconnect over night.
  3. Hi max it seems not correct now. i can see the idle is up when i switch on the AC. but with AC and Head lights on idle goes down. one guy told me if you leave the power disconnect for a long time ECU re-set and you need to reset the throttle body . never heard that . any idea?
  4. the model of this alternator is very difficult to find. so my last resort was to replace with what ever possible and bring my car live. it is really pain full task to find the parts of this car either. high amperage may not be issue (i guess) if not low amperage. there will be fuel consumption increase it its a big one.

Hi Guys finally I managed to find a suitable alternator from Kiribathgoda area , place called "dirulk" . cost me 7000. this is little bigger but and brackets are compatible.. . can fixed .seems OK and checked the voltage after start and it showed me 14.3V. three was no any other damage than head lights. those was i got down from UK - Osram Night breaker for around 10£. Just noticed after 2, 3 hours drive the Idle is bit a low than earlier. not sure this cause due to high voltage issue. so need to monitor thoroughly. Thanks Sira

Dear Friends Today i noticed my dashboard battery indicator came on for a 5 min then gone. then after 10 min it came back and stay on for 10 min . then gone. so i checked with Auto technician and he open the alternator and said the Slip ring of the rotor has worn and need to replace with new rotor. then said the stater coli has fried too. he said the cost will be 7500. I hold this repair and went to Delkanda. Checked almost every shops but couldn't find the correct part. this is 3 wire unit. finally brought 4 wire alternator from Vtec honda EK3 engine. how ever when i check it at the auto repair shop, it seems faulty too. then i asked the technician to replace rotor and stater coils. the fixed and test on a bench seems fine. How ever after fixed it to car, it start generating high voltage and my head lights burned in 2 sec. quickly i stop the car. the technician want to keep more time i said it will damage some electronics too. tomorrow he want to change the IC , looks bit a strange to me. dose this effect ECU and other component. i did not leave the car more than 1 min. where can i find the alternator for this car? Ek3 Exi 98 sira
  7. Can epoxy but it must have conductivity, there will be a copper surface initially and now it is not exist. so cannot sold it

Hi I'm having issue with my rear defogger. when i checked it i noticed that some how the terminal has broken from the rear window. initially it was soldered with led, but it seems unable to solder it again. it may have repaired previously. now it is broken again. is there any place in sri lanka fix this ? just check on the internet and sow there will be special glue which can apply for this . it seems very straight forward way. see this - http://www.frostfighter.com/defroster-repair-tab-bonding-kit-2000.htm sira
  9. Guys how easy to build this car with recon parts? as this is a hybrid car i think 50% of controlling by electronic as well as software/firmware. If we buy all the parts - Motor control, ECU,ABS. dashboard...etc from re-con shop then build the car, will it be work as before? i believe all of modules will have some firmware and if they mismatch then car will not run properly. But if repairs by agents, they will order correct part. what is your opinion on this please? Thank you

I have some gray areas. the hybrids are 75% electronic and also it controlled by software ( i believe).i have not come across with all modules but i think there will be a software which control below applications Engine /fuel control Gear box ABS dashboard - gauges....etc Motor control Battery management so if i buy all of above items from recon shop and build the car, will this operate as earlier? i think , if the software are not compatible each other , then it will gives you some problems what is your advice please? sira

Thanks Guys It seems that SLI covers only 10% of electronic/electrical of any car ( still on discussion). so since this is hybrid car, they pay only for 30% of total cost of repair which is horrible. Honda agents said if it drawn up to dashboard level , 95% possibility to write-off. will update soon sira

  13. Hi one my friend's car has damaged by recent flood and seems water has reached to top of the car.fully dead. how to release paring break and move the gear in to Nutal position ? sira
  14. Check 1. Break fluid tank? if its empty, then there must be a leak 2. if the tank full of oil, then probably the break washers of the pump. you need to get it checked by a mechanic 3. some cases as below mentioned the quality of oil may have spoiled. but this is very rare case.

  16. Hi Guys Recently i drove Vi Multimatic (maybe 96-2000) and it was really nice and unfortunately made me really disappoint of my car. (Ek3 Exi 98). very comfortable and shocks are smooth . I've changed mine 2 years ago with "tokiko" and now i feel they are very hard. 4 months back i dismantle the shock and spring and tested , they seems OK. the rod is comes up quickly. dose the springs will be hard? or any other issue? like arm bushes... sira

  19. Dear Friends I'm planing to upgrade my Honda civic Ek3 exi 98. I really like this car and i need more features such as ABS, Air bag etc and more comfortable car. Ek3 is very good car and as it's sport type car the handling is awesome and much power.I really enjoyed this car and I used it around 5 years. But few problems i identified and it is bit a annoying me 1. Front suspensions bushes will not last more than 8 months. Upper arms as well as lower arm end bushes will damage so quickly. but cannot afford genuine bushes as it very expensive. 2. Rear Passenger seat is not comfortable. I think because of sport shocks. 3. Rear breaks are not good. 4. differential back lash noise. so I'm planing to go for Nissan FB15 car new face or old face. what is your opinions on this car. i can afford 2M for this. Dear Friends Recently i realized that IOC petrol got low performance on my car . it is Honda civic 98 Exi (efi). with IOC i heard detonation sound and low performance. then i filled up with IOC 95 then issue was gone. after few days time i had in fill with cepetco 92 octain and noticed that all issues was not with that. is there any quality difference with those 2 petrol?
