why doesnt he just join the forum and tell us his exact needs instead of going through a 3rd party (who's clearly biased to begin with)
-
Yes, Schiffer clearly has some explaining to do. hehehe!

My guess is the guy who posted the pic heard that you had a GSR in your premises and came to see it, and when he saw a lancer presumed that was the GSR. It's a reasonable assumption cos not many people would be fortunate enough to have multiple units of an already rare car. That's the foot-in-mouth I was talking about.. So let it go, and tell us more about this car. With this whole scandal I too am getting more and more curious about it, even though this isn't my area of interest.
-
haiyoo.... There has been enough foot-in-mouth and 3rd-party-foot-in-a$$ situations/posts on this thread so far. So let's just by gones be by gones and sit back and wait for the car to come out. And Sanath, dont take offense machang... the only reason the guys are so worked up is because they are so enthusiastic about this car. If you or the owner wouldn't mind some progress reports and stories on the car would be much appreciated..

Good Options For A Used Car Around 1.2 Million
Watchman replied to Kasun Chathuranga's question in Car Buying Information
Cars in this price range has been discussed before. And so have the car models you mentioned. You may do a search using this to find a LOT of information. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/ And in the spirit of preventing fragmented information, may i request other members to refrain from replying to this thread. Thanks!- 1 reply

Implementation Of Up To Date Price Database For Autos
Watchman replied to codexdj's topic in Feedback & Suggestions
Well, then someone who doesn't care enough to do his due diligence before spending that much money, deserves whats coming to them Geez, you cant expect everyone else to bend over backwards to save your money if you cant be bothered to make an effort yourself. pfftt... -
We all advise people based on our preferences, but in the end it's that guy who has to live with the car and drive it. And no disrespect to the buyer, but I highly doubt if the guy will know the difference in driving pleasure between a Prius, City or Lancer. Correct me if i'm wrong but the lancer probably has the highest fuel consumption of the three cars right? So if you do the math, he does about 1800km a month, and even a 2kmpl difference in consumption (between the City and Lancer) would come to about Rs.6500 difference in fuel cost. And a LOT more if you compare it with a Prius. To some of us here we would gladly spend that extra for the joy of driving, but for the average Joe like bracket's friend, do you really think it's worth it?? So let's get off the Lancer bandwagon for a while and look at the BUYER's requirement. Hand's down, it's the Prius.

Planning A Road Trip For Friends - Information Needed
Watchman replied to panhida's topic in The Lounge
If you have the time a nice route might be colombo-sigiriya-anuradhapura-trinco-nuwaraEliya-kandy-yala-galle-colombo. It pretty much covers every aspect of Sri Lanka. I think it would be better if you could plan your approximate route first and tell us what towns you plan to stop at for breaks/meals/sleep. So based on that people will be able to better help you on the facilities. edit: It's an interesting topic indeed. As common as it may sound, I don't recall us discussing something like this. I'm thinking of doing a few long distance trips too later this year, so I'll be following this thread for recommendations too -
yep, that's the one!

#1 Yeah you didn't say that it was very sound or fool-proof. What you should have realized and said was that it was a reeeaaallllyy stupid idea! On top of what crosswind said I can think of a dozen other reasons your idea won't work. #2 if you have so many methods of finding out the market price why do you need AL to be so precise and detailed? -
haha! Some people's taste really amaze me. I saw this "modified" Ford Escort for sale. It had maruti headlights, a FB15 front grill, and bumpers from some other unidentifiable vehicle. The only good thing was that it was selling for just a 100,000. So if someone wants to start a restoration project, the initian investment would be very reasonable.

Want To Buy A Mistubishi Galant 1999//2000 - Diesel
Watchman replied to chathudagr8's topic in MITSUBISHI
Hi, You can use this method to find all the reviews/issues about the car on autolanka. How to Search You'll get a result like this -
Hi Rehana, Maybe you can elaborate a bit more on why you gave it a 8/10. Maybe the nature of the accident, the repairs/replacements that were done, the estimated/actual cost, and the estimated/actual delivery period etc. And last not least the quality of their work.

Our rebadging kings can also learn a lesson here And a Photo of the said Car: http://www.fj.xinhuanet.com/news/2014-02/10/c_119253682.htm

nope it's not. I believe you might have heard it on Top Gear? Well, in a later episode they proved themselves wrong with the Ferrari Berlinetta. LaFerrari also comes with a V12.

Implementation Of Up To Date Price Database For Autos

There was never an intention of being polite in my post You don't need an IT degree or anything to know how impractical such a thing is. No human being of a mature/sensible state of mind would even think of something like this. If you can give me a single example of something that is being traded at a fixed price in the 2nd hand market, i'll admit that my comment was out of line. OK? And this "I did a search but there was no result" BS is getting just has absurd. This WAS brought up before, and shot down due to people having common sense. -

And THESE are the idiot's we're supposed to be nice to? -
Yes what you describe is the International driving license. And it's valid for only a year mind you. I too obtained it when I went to the US about 7-8 years ago. But as per madmax you might not need to worry about that anymore.
-
Machang use this and do a search, you'll find an answer. http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15808-how-to-search-on-autolanka/
-
Wow, you're giving quite a lot of attitude for someone who's here looking for help. This seems to be a growing trend now. At first, they don't search, and now once they have been given clear steps on how to do a search, they say "don't tell me to search cos there's no result".

That 7 series was at ajmal was quite a time, wasnt it. In a previous thread some time ago, someone said that it wasnt actually a 760, and that this was a body transplant or something like this.
