    Sat Nav (Gps) Help

No harm done. I was curios Google might allow voice assist to be downloaded along with the map. I learned a lot about map download feature from your post. Never knew about the exact limits of the map download and 30 day rules.

Yes the default name pronunciation is funny. Can you please tell us how you switched to British accent? I want to give it a try.

In SL? Parking under the hot sun for long periods would be a big no no for the car then...

Yes you can use the offline map saving feature, last time I checked but it was limited to certain size, making it useless for a long trip. Have they increased the area? I have never tested, but does the turn-by-turn voice assist also get downloaded?

JayZ, I don't think this is legal. Even if can you install a map without the license key by hacking it, you will not be able to update, isn't it?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Google Navigator wants an active data connection to navigate? Would be OK if you are in and around Colombo. But it could be a limiting factor for outstations when there is no or slow data coverage outstations.

If you are OK to use a mobile phone or a tablet with a Windscreen mount, the best option would be an Android phone/tab with Map Factor Navigator and Google Maps. Map Factor Navigator is free, and you can use it for most places. Google maps are pretty accurate. Or you can get the Sala maps installed from Di*log. I guess M*bitel provides it too. This way you can detach the nav system and take it with you if you are on a hike or want to read a book, or even to make a call. EDIT: http://www.mapfactor.com/en/ - just found out that MapFactor Navigator is available for Windows phones FOC. You can check it out yourself. They provide free offline maps (about 4MB) and provides free updates as well.
  11. BMWs are great cars. Drive one, and you will want one. Such is the impact they create on you. But don't buy a BMW if you can't treat her right. Vezel... I got nothing to say... other than, your evaluation criteria seems to match that of a Vezel.

    Alloy Wheels - Buffing

Yes! DIY Rules! Just one question though, if the scratches are deep how to fix them? And I guess painting will only work for non-nickel surfaces? Any ideas on reviewing the nickel surfaces?
  13. Isn't it rather strange that a new car suffering from contact issues? maybe some cover or casing is missing, hence the oxidization issue? Obviously Toyota should have thought about the oxidization issues in their design.
  14. Between the two cars, go for the N16 1.5L (or 1.6L if possible). Manual Transmission will do better on fuel at the expense of having to shift gears. (If you enjoy driving, go for MT). I have never owned a March, but I have heard that many owners complain that they do poor fuel figures for the size of the car. Maybe some Autolankan with experience can shed some light. Between the two cars I guess the N16 retains better resale value.
  15. This thread reminds me of the RX7 with a Diesel engine I saw at Negombo... Can't understand why someone would buy a great car to ruin it. Why not leave it for an enthusiast to pick up and maintain in its original form? I think it is the duty of the car enthusiasts to keep the rest of the clientele informed of these BMWs rolling out of the chop-shops. So the less vigilant buyers would stay clear of these. And we could stop this from happening to other BMWs by depleting the demand for molested BMWs.
