  1. @GummybrAs long as the oil meets the MB grade manufacturer has specified for the engine model, I believe it should be okay. (Correct me if I am wrong) I use mb 229.51 or mb 229.52 grade oil for my GLC250d OM651 engine, so whatever deal we have at the time of the service, I buy the cheapest 6L pack😉 The latest deal was for Valvoline, which is 50% off, so I have stacked a few packs.
  2. Then this reminds me of Sarasvathie Lodge, early 2000's the Lodge has fueled us for 10 rupees for the whole day when we were students near by IT institute. The dosa and "Sambar" kept us going for the whole day
  3. This would be very easy to set up in Aussie 😂
  4. Is that a Daihatsu Midget?
  5. Yeah mate, it is the Unicab It's a shame that the one for sale on the island at the moment may not end with a correct collector at the asking price. Worries it might get rotten as it is almost in that path, if someone doesn't act fast.
  6. That green one is for sale, and the price has gone up (almost double) what it was originally posted for. (Owner was like, too much demand, so changed the price) lol
  7. Good try, but no, it's not anything from the LC family
  8. I saw the same Ad, the headlights from Caldina, Dash is matched to the CT190 Corona and the rest i believe the same except the tail lights. I believe these engine 3C's/ Turbo may not be the 2C's as the Euro spec has had a little higher output power plant, but I might be wrong on it.
  9. Congratulations on the new purchase and welcome to the Merc club! Feel free to share more details about the car later, but Beatrice sounded like she came from the UK 😀and is stunning in her skin colour. Beatrice will be a bit expensive to maintain, but that's how they are; they like to be ridden hard, so don't worry about revving up to the red line. Trust me, they love it. Did you particularly want to buy the Kompressor model, not the CGI?
  10. The Internet has very limited information about this particular vehicle compared to other similar era models. Not sure how many in Sri Lanka, but 1 for sure.
  11. This could be the puzzle of the month This is from a very famous brand.
  12. We all have our places we place them. I use two locations on my Prado when I am at the beach for a dip or a bush walk. I use one of the chassis rails as a location, and the other I use is the section of the tow bar fitment I have seen some people use a metal lock box and lock it onto the tow hook. You don't need to lock them in here unless it's a Patrol, LC 70 series or Aqua 🤣
  13. I am sure I have seen a Jetta (a Different Black colour car) and a Bora back in SL. They were on diplomatic plates back then
  14. The one skinned up is Lancer CB8
  15. Hyundai Kona
  16. If you could reveal some other photos of the car, please
  17. Is that a Dodge Charger? But I doubt my answer, though, and this could be one of those unknown Chinese brands again 😂
  18. That's a V44/ 46 Paj, isn't that?
  19. My parents took an overnight bus from Colombo to Ampara to pick up the Sportage. Although it was a sight-unseen purchase, Dad was pleasantly surprised. He said the vehicle matched the description given over the phone and was pleased to receive the full service history file, something he hadn’t expected. They’re currently in transit, with an overnight stop in Mahiyanganaya. From there, they’ll continue the journey either via Kandy or Polonnaruwa, depending on the weather conditions. Here’s the actual vehicle: Known Issues After Driving 100+ KM The speedometer reads higher than the actual speed. The RPM gauge is non-functional. No traditional radio is installed, there's a USB media unit with a screen. Dad’s a bit old school, so he wasn’t quite sure how to use it. Let’s just say he wasn’t thrilled about having to listen to Mum the whole way home 😄 The rear wiper is disconnected and is missing both the wiper arm and the motor. The front seat belt buckle needs replacement. Dad said it drives well for a 25-year-old vehicle. The brakes, suspension, and steering components have all been repaired or replaced, and he commented that everything feels tight and responsive. The 4WD system works fine, including the low range. The only real mystery is the inaccurate speedometer. I’m not sure what’s causing it. The running gears are Mazda, so not sure if the Mazda Transmission has a cable to the speedo or a sensor to the speedo, or if the fault is with the cluster unit?
  20. It is the Grand Sportage, seems like they were on sale in SL during 2000 and 2001, as New vehicles. The engine and trans, axel's they're all Mazda Bongo parts, diffs are off from Bongo 4WD A few FB groups suggested not to mention the parts are off from Sportage, the shop guys wouldn't bother looking, but to mention as Mazda and the parts are there. Do you guys know who the Kia dealer was back then?
  21. Hi all, It's me again. Dad bought a small SUV, bought it sight unseen 🤭(Paid 50k deposit) Why did we buy it sight unseen? - Dad felt the owner was genuine, and the price was reasonable for a 2nd owner (2 brothers owned since new) verified in the book by the same surname. - All the repair bills included, and a full engine rebuild, not long ago - It's a part time 4WD, diesel, imported new - For the sake of English numbers - Early English numbers I think the main reason is that his car has no repairs and he missed his time spent at the garage. lol The vehicle is 400+ K's away from the house in Colombo, and Dad and my Mother booked to take the overnight bus where the vehicle is located, and arranged things with the current owner. I haven't received the latest pictures of the vehicle yet, but Dad has, and he said he had done a video call, and he said nothing was broken or cracked, but he will find something once he has the vehicle. I am sure he is starting to hassle me to find them for him. 🤣So here I am preparing for the worst. Where can I find the interior and exterior parts for these vehicles in Sri Lanka? Thank you everyone The photo I have included is a sample similar pickedup from the web (same colour)
  22. Not bad looking, aye
  23. G'day roonyh Sad to hear about your friend, and hope he will recover soon! Side question, is that Starlet one of the converted to Glanza Z's? I know a lot of Lankans use Toy* Diy site for the checks, especially to prove their 20+ year old Van is a GL optioned from the factory, NOT a DX Van, their neighbour has. I don't know the integrity of that site's data source. It is quite normal for insurance companies to try to get away with payments where possible, so challenge the Insurance company to provide the details of their source I don't believe the insurance can refer to a random website and decline/ reduce payment. Since your mate is the current owner of the car (believe the book owner too), he is responsible. Not sure if the RMV has the details if the car is a 3 or 5 door's but in a legal case, they may be able to verify the details with the authorised dealer.
  24. Kia Seltos ?
  25. You or Matroska's turn
