  1. 1.2 L 6MT is only available in the highest grade WxB and is priced over 1.8L WxB only the Hybrids are expensive They must be aiming at the Sportier segment who prefer a manual transmission as this is the only manual model offered
  2. Market is already flooded with Euros you can easily find over 100 of unregistered C-class, X1, X2, 3-series, Audis ... Most of them have no clue as to what they are purchasing, i know of a person who brought a X1 and have been using it for a past year or so but did not know it had only 3 cylinders. His argument as it is a 1.5L it should be having 4. Countless fellows having issues in servicing / support on personal imports, there is a good opportunity for someone there for a good startup. I have a Euro which i use occasionally and sparingly when I want to go out of City or during off peak. But for a daily driver or as only car a Euro could be a pain in the A**. When you want trouble free motoring nothing beat a Jap (made in Japan or other wise) Axios/ Allions/ Premios gave trouble free motoring for the average person for whom it delivered motoring utility of a front loading washing machine. They will be sadly miss. By the way I love the Corolla they nailed it this time, Audi A3 with no vises
  3. Do the transfer at the leasing company by settling them direct, you need to get a letter addressed to RMV that the lease is settled in full and the leasing company no longer have any interest in the said vehicle. Be extremely careful as there have been several scams where people have parted with their money, however not got the ownership of the vehicle as seller has not settled the leasing company. Common statement of the seller is that they will do the needful and get the leased settled with minimum inconvenience to the buyer which never happens.
  4. From what i know as long as the car does not knock due to low octane it should be fine. Of-cause there could be marginal decrease in power/ performance and economy/ emission due to ECU adjusting engine timing to accommodate for the lower octane. I have not noticed any significant issues so even on vehicles that are designed for 95 running on 92 (on temporary cases when could not find 95)
  5. No, these turbos operate under low pressure and intended purpose is marginally higher out put from a lower capacity with intention of low emissions and fuel consumption. Power output for the given capacity in not very high in comparison to sport tuned turbos. Besides if you go through the owners manuals the requirement is 92 octane. If it is UK import and says regular then it is 95 as in UK regular is 95, Super/ Premium 98 If it is JDM/ Aus and says regular it is 92 I still cant believe the logic of wasting Rs. 24 on every liter of fuel when it is not required by the specific vehicle.
  6. So the new one is marginally larger than the Axio but at the same time marginally smaller than the Allion/ Premio apart from width (L -95mm, W +50mm, H -40mm, WB -60mm) which means leg room (especially rear) and boot space maybe significantly smaller) Sharing the same wheel base of the Hatch, it will have the same issue of mediocre rear seat / legroom, getting in and out of rear also will be difficult with small and narrow opening rear doors. This may not be ideal replacement for Allion/ Premio for someone with requirement to carry adults in the back seat. I wonder why they did not opt for the extended wheel base of the Saloon as in US and Europe.
  7. So no 1.2L CVT like the hatch, soo glad i went with the Sport without waiting for the Sedan What a loss for SL no replacement for the Axio and Allion, may be we will have to lobby with the new presidential candidates to get the tax adjusted to get this cars at reasonable prices. Go and grab your Axio or Allion before they start shooting up in prices.
  8. UK spec cars will need 95 octane, SL domestic/ Aussi/ JDM cars will run on 92 so there will be significant saving on fuel costs. Local agents do not support Pugs imported by others even with a costly registration like Merc / BMW so you will have issues if some thing goes wrong. Believe me they do, there are few already in dire straits. Look a slightly used JDM 2018, cost per the permit will be around Rs. 7.5 Mn. if personally imported. And of cause the resale value if it is a concern.
  9. Only experience I have with Honda are MT - 5 bike (1990-2001) CRV 2013-2018 FIT GP5 (2014-2016) None of them had any issues What is the car model year you are referring to / or model eg: EG, EK, FD etc..
  10. There are no cars without sensors and with age they give trouble. Hondas will have more sensors than Maruti Alto which will have more sensors than a Morris Minor. A BMW or a Merc might have more sensors than a Honda If you want a vehicle without sensors you are looking at a bicycle. Sensors will have issues as the vehicle age, issue most of the time our Maka Bass will not identify the issue hence will either change the ECU or worse. If you are worried do not buy, get a Toyota even if a sensor or two fails you can blame your Karma
  11. WXB 15-20 kmpl, CH-R 10-15 kmpl at best, look at the rear seats of CH-R to see whether you are happy. Tires will be expensive in CH-R I feel CH-R will fetch more at resale 5 years down the line being non hybrid and crossover. CH-R will be better to drive
  12. Starting price of GBP 35-40K is lot for a car even considering UK standards. The real use of these vehicles are enjoyed by 3-4th owner after about 8-10 years (over 100k mileage) sadly by that time all the electronics what not will be half gone and the vehicle will become a money pit to maintain. This goes even for Toyota when they replaced 100 series
  13. Do not buy R as you will not know what the extent of the repair is and the quality of the repair. When you import on the permit you're stuck with the vehicle. 2018 WXB with low mileage will be ideal in your case auction grade 4.5 or above, look for a car with interior A this should fit your budget. Forget about the Allion/Premio as it is not worth for the Permit as you will be pocketing extra Rs. 2.0 Mn. taxes (same as C-class/ BMW 1&2 series / CRV, Rs. 1.95 Mn.) and will definitely exceed your budget unless you opt for a lemon. Also look at CH-R you should be able to find a good one for Rs. 4.5 Mn. as duty will be only Rs. 265K Alternatively you could sell the permit which will increase your budget to Rs. 6.9-6.9 Mn. which can get you a decent car in the used market.
  14. When you give concession to Electric and Hybrids this is what people buy
  15. In 2020 some vehicle importers expect a change on the government. New government is predicted to favor Chinese and Indian vehicles over Euros. Only way to do this is to tax the cars with turbos, over 5 gears (CVTs will be considered as infinity ratios) So don't wait till sh*t happens go and grab your 1.0L turbos
  16. You can justify this on the ridiculous price
  17. 5 door hatch and Type R is made in Swindon plant UK. Saloon could be made somewhere else may be Thailand
  18. Small engine, high power, more stress, less life this has been the good old formula for ages.
  19. You think Vitz is bad, wait till you hear the Wagon R is full song, this is most of the time if you want to go anywhere soon.
  20. There are plenty of reviews in the internet, you can read or watch
  21. Why do you want a avoid agent on a Rs. 15 Mn. car
  22. For that price you could get a good branded one. What exactly can you do with your Gathers I have a Toyota with standard NSZT-Y66T, Audio works (Radio up to 95 MHz, SD card, CD, Bluetooth), Video (DVD, SD), some of the vehicle information like economy figures. Telephone hands free functions. You need to get used to Japanese menus with google translate until you get familiarize with the system. What does not work is the Navigation, TV, traffic management and Toyota remote assist functions. Even if you fit a aftermarket unit some of the functions linked to vehicle ECU may not work. Audio and screen quality of the original is far superior to no name Chinese and unless you go for a very high end branded set you are unlikely to find something better.
  23. Agreed, modern CVTs have come up long way. I newer understood this fake speeds all it does is increase the revs and give a little more grunt. Does not give the feeling of the shift like in a normal box kick down or a DCT. In the new Toyotas' they are suppose to increase the engine braking going downhill. I feel they just add two plastic pieces behind the steering so you can increase the list of features does not add any value.
  24. You will have issues selling the car, no body wants a manual these days due to crawling traffic. Most of the drivers cannot drive manuals Problem with the Civic is CVT, DCT would have been as good as a manual but has its own issues.
  25. Have a 2nd for that part ?
