  1. It maybe the motors reaching their age, in which case they may require replacement brushes.
  2. machan, also every increase in font size adds ~1hp, so you can get more with less. and you have a type r sticker no? get one big enough to plaster across the upper 25% of your windscreen, that's at least 30hp right there.
  3. Well maybe someone mistook it for a minibar. I mean it's only slightly bigger than one.
  4. @DZ, I have no idea. The last time I saw the vehicle was a good 10 years ago, and it wasn't in pretty good nick at the time. It needed brakes and some body work done. But it sure was a sweet looking ride, although I'm more partial to a P5b a la Maggie Thatcher.
  5. Yup, correct indeed! P6 2000 TC. My friend's family owned a green one with red leather interior.
  6. Hint: In the 80s and 90s, their entire line up was based on Hondas.
  7. They take into consideration the size, weight and declared value of the item. All items do get charged some kind of duty, its only very rarely that I've been able to avoid duty for my R/C parts. But usually they won't try to extort you, unless you lie about the value and get caught in the process. I bought my netbook on ebay and got it sent through EMS, and I only paid something like LKR1800 to get it cleared. It depends on a lot on how humble you are (I kid you not), just smile and answer their questions but don't say too much. Also I wouldn't advice on getting down a camera or any other fragile item like that, because the packing is going to be huge, and it's going to cost you a mint to bring it down here. Limit electronics to small, cheap items. For anything else, get a mate to send it to you from abroad. P.S. Declaring a lower value and/or marking the item as a gift will be irrelevant if you're asked to come down to the parcels section; they *will* open the package and slap a duty on it, especially if they figure out there's been deliberate undervaluing.
  8. Stupid 3G hiccuped, double post :/
  9. They're classified as a light truck from the payload they're able to carry.
  10. Friend of mine in school (here in SL) had one of these.
  11. I use ShowRSS for all my TV shows. It creates a custom RSS feed you can use with uTorrent, and allows you to have a two tier filter (first in ShowRSS, second in uTorrent) to ensure you get what you want without having to look for it each time. For movies I use torrentz.com, as I'm sure a lot of you out there do.
  12. Makes me wonder what kind depreciation the Micro/SSangYong SUVs are going to face 5 years down the line.
  13. I think I know the car you're talking about, is it dark blue by any chance?
  14. I've noticed Samishka posting such adverts from the days gone by. Always interesting to see such stuff. And that car was 885 brand new back then, how times have changed :/
  15. @pradfred sure, but how to get it to you?
  16. Rang up my friend and inquired to his setup, he said it's a Bogaard unit. It's wired up to the ignition, not just the fuel cut off as I had assumed earlier. It's a plug and play affair, unplugging the wiring loom at the firewall and connecting the timer electronics in between. Idling period is cycled by pushing a button on the dash mounted unit. He said there are more expensive unit which automatically adjust the idling period according to how hot the manifold is.
  17. Saw this a few days ago. Apparently the bird's only crime was distracting the driver, whereby he dropped the phone. But it didn't stop there;he then went about rummaging for it without stopping the car. Driver's fault on both accounts; if he could afford a Veyron, he could very well afford a Jabra for his mobile. However, I'm pretty sure VW have installed a bluetooth stereo in the car, negating any requirement for a Jabra to begin with. My only regret is that he didn't pile head on into an oncoming semi or some such. Best humanitarian effort by Bugatti, self sacrifice to prevent further contamination of the gene pool by asshats.
  18. Sweet! Downloading these tonight so's I can watch them at work tomorrow (for what I'm paid, they're lucky if I turn up for work at all )
  19. I still see the odd Nubira and Lanos on the road (even a K reg once!), and very recently I saw an ex-police Racer. I think GNTC liquidated their Cielos and went for CK series Lancers as an upgrade.
  20. Corolla Koththu?
  21. We had a 40 sri Nissan crew cab which at one point had an inoperative fuel solenoid and we had to shut off the engine by tugging on a wire which was tied to the valve mechanism (a la old SLTB bus style). You could literally take the key out of the ignition and the engine would be running. All that happened was the engine note became slightly faster due to the load from the alternator being taken off. I doubt such operation hurts the alternator in anyway, since all that happens is the circuit breaks.
  22. He hasn't even overhauled the engine after 500ks? Our Townace ticked over 300Ks last week. 11 years and 0 breakdowns, overhauled at 260ks.
  23. Hence why I would sell my soul, rather than just cutting off an arm and a leg to purchase the regular production model.
  24. This is why I drive a white van.
  25. I don't think there has been an official Daewoo presence in SL since they went bust in 1999, and subsequently bought by GM in 2001.
