  1. They used to always do the "kona kapana scene" the old Baleno station wagon looks so nice but the car seems like it was cut halfway because they wanted to have the same length on the station wagon and the car. Same with the Liana suddenly the stops. Those newer Dezire models are god aweful looking.
  2. Thats discrimination, how dare you call them hatchbacks ladies cars? This was true back in the day when I was selling Suzuki's and Citroen's. I hated the looks of the Liana sedan whilst the Hatch looked nice, Suzuki never did make nice sedans but their hatchbacks looked nice. People preferred the sedan types over the hatchbacks which the Europeans loved. It was a perception at the time that hatchbacks were too girly and a guy would die being seen in one, much like the automatic vs manual discussions back in the day. It gradually changed overtime with the influx of the smaller Viva Elites, Wagon R's, Alto's, Vitz etc. Now people buy them for ease of use and convenience, nowadays you can see a lot of men driving hatchbacks. Same with station wagons, people forget how practical they are and classify them as hearses, hence the reason you can pick up a nice station wagon for cheap prices. But I have seen the Toyota Fielders going up in price compared to the Wingroads.
  3. Well its not clear as to whether its a RWD or a AWD. If you tell me what your issue is I can help you. Are you referring to the front left and right axle in the vin decoder? There is no way the C Class came with a Front Wheel Drive only drivetrain. If its an AWD it should have a 4MATIC badge, also the vin decoder should say 4MATIC. You could also put it on a ramp and see if there is a drive from the gearbox to the front wheels.
  4. Yes this would be the 1st Gen Previa, what we have in Sri Lanka are called Estima Lucida. Over to you @Duan27 @amsandun I think you didnt see the clues to the answer.
  5. What kind of clue do you want my esteemed friend? Can I say its from a mainstream manufacturer, built in the 1990s. This was the first generation of its kind, havent seen any later generation vehicles in Sri Lanka. Mid engined people carrier. There is a font by the name of the vehicle on microsoft office.
  6. They were always either Rear Wheel drive or 4Matic (meaning 4wd). The CLA and the A Class were the front wheel drive vehicles. Whats the problem you encountered?
  7. Here goes. Seen a few around would have been the ideal design for future vehicles to be based on
  8. Isnt it still with them? This made me search more on the royalty and the lineage of the family makes me think that these guys are "okkoma yaluwo malli" Since its been more than 24 hours. Standard 9. Funnily its still registered under Prince of Greece, meaning it never changed ownership all these years. https://www.sundaytimes.lk/210411/news/spotlight-on-prince-philips-first-personal-car-at-galle-face-hotel-439689.html
  9. Nah I dont think so, maybe styled after the Morris's of old (radiator). Its just the headlights that gives it a Brum like look
  10. I think they are still running around used by people who never knew that these were cabs back in the day. Check the car sale sites you will come across a few. I remembered the old TV series Brum when I saw those headlights
  11. Man this makes me look old. Daewoo Racers were the cars used by 588588 those days. I am talking 1990s. Cant remember the ad but they were like the only ones who were prominent those days.
  12. Daewoo Tacuma it is. Over to you @iRage They had some weird designs, luckily they didnt bother as they faded away in the 2000s. I used to think they were called Daewood with the D having fallen off those Kangaroo cab Daewoo Racers.
  13. Do you want to go head and talk ugly the so called pinninfarina designed vehicle looks from the front in stark contrast to its other countryman?
  14. Here goes, this is designed by pinninfarina. I will drop in some clues if you want more. Have seen a few examples on our roads
  15. Having Solar will not be the solution for EV's. Its the size of the battery and how long it takes to charge that is most important. Most roof top solar system will be giving around 4-5kWh, this is not sufficient for quickly charging an EV. I will open a new thread to talk about all these to give knowledge to the community here.
  16. BYD was never a new model to Sri Lanka, you would have seen the old Kangaroo cab BYD's on the road previously. Well the new agent seems to be confident that they can bring down vehicles in February and have taken over 500 orders so far. Its just that people didnt have access to new vehicles for such a long time and they are queueing to get whatever they can get regardless of other issues. JKH says that they will put up charging points at all Keells outlets, but will it be enough is the question.
  17. Without proper infrastructure they will end up like the Leaf. I wouldnt touch anything without an agent warranty specially with regard to the battery. Something goes wrong you are in trouble unless you have very deep pockets otherwise your car will become a very expensive display ornament. This simple thing people dont understand, I think we imported close to 2000 EV's in the last two years, and most have already changed hands a few times and some are now stuck with car sales.
  18. No wonder it was difficult as your pic angle shows a very thin headlight. GWM Voleex C10 or in Sri Lanka the Micro Voleex. Designed after a Vitz.
  19. Been out for a while, initial thoughts was Mahindra e2o, but doesnt look like one. So maybe a clue would do
  20. Hope the policy makers understand your point of view on the forex matter. Looks as if the government will look at efficient vehicle imports from the way things are going, so 1000cc or below maybe taken into account. Problem is how to curb excessive imports since most brand new agents will not get 1000cc and below vehicles nowadays due to restrictions in export, hope they come up with a plan.
  21. You are asking for a lot of information, I dont think you can get that info. Maybe you can get area wise from CEYPETCO or Lanka IOC. But not details of what vehicle. You can also reach out to Banks and credit card companies as well as fleet uses. But this information will not be available to the public.
  22. So we wait for someone to answer or @matroska wants to go ahead and answer?
  23. I'd say change to a Pixel 😜, I fell out with OnePlus due to the green and pink lines. Although I replaced with a LCD I have been searching for a phone that doesnt have the greenline issue. Pay a bit extra and you can get a Pixel 7 Pro / 8 Pro
  24. Yes saw one last week, its said 1.6l VVTi (assuming its just a badge). Funny thing is it didnt have the front of the rally version I think as I saw looking from the side it looked like the other version. I wanted to get a pic of the vehicle from the rear the way you it see it on the road, but couldnt find any. Solid as a Nokia nah that would be the predecessor.
  25. Since @iRage hasnt put one up, here goes something rarely seen in Sri Lanka, but a very popular model. I was looking for a certain angle but couldnt find it so had to rely on this pic.
