hi Don it's a 93 model 1000cc carb manual , i think this is falling to the last production of 1 ltr carbs as they stopped production of this engine in early 93

This car belongs a guy who used to import lot of sports cars to sri lanka till lately ,he lives in japan & his father uses this in sri lanka . Most of the hi spec performance cars which were imported before 2006 were bought in japan by him & shipped through very popular importers . i have driven this car, & very comfortable , it was the 1st car which i drove with cruise control & i really enjoyed it .

guys do you know the capacity of the fuel tank of the Mini?? For Example my car is a 93 model 1000cc. Untill today i though the Full capacity was 30ltrs ,as i have never pumped more than 27ltrs to make it full tank. but today i pumped 31.8ltrs from Laughs kohuwala

if i'm not mistaken , the engine gearbox & suspension is same in both EGG shape & the BOX model , the egg shape is slightly less fuel economical due to the body is heavier than the Box model. this is the reason why the Box model is also in the same price bracket as the Egg shape . one of my very good friends owned a BOX model diesel 32- non turbo ( in very well maintained condition) & we went to ampara & back with A/C & it has done about 25km/ltr . ( i can remember touching 120km/h mark with 3 people in the car with A/C) finally my friend sold it to a known person about 3yrs back & he is maintaining the car in the same condition . my friend tried to buy it back recently , but the current owner is not willing to part with it. he says it was his best buy. as far as i know also part are not a problem as there are lot of guys who get down things , & engine repair is not a major issue and it lasts about 70,000 -80,000kms with out a problem if maintained well . this is for the Non turbo. but as everyone said finding a car which has less vibration, good body shape, & good interior is quite difficult as due to the fuel economy 99% of the cars are really abused.

'Guys dont worry about the speed too much . by any chance if you cannot find the instructions given & go in a wrong direction, then you will have to go even more than 100km/h to catchup. added to that you need to follow all the road rules including traffic lights so to keep a Avg of about 25km's you need to go around 40 -50km/h in most places as you will be loosing lot of time on the road with traffic. This way competitors will not take too much risk by trying to speed Just my 2 cents

thanks Gummy & GTAm. the car already has a 1600 engine in it & partly rally prepared with the additional set of speedo meters on the passenger side , 2 recaro front seats. & it really moves as i remember 8-9yrs back. even the front bumber is in tact, only thing is it has got rusted , rear bumper was removed about 10yrs back & cant locate it now as it has got misplaced over the yrs even i Like the Rally look with nice 4 driving lights in front & a wider set of wheels from that era . brakes front disks & rear drums with servo . before i bought the mini i was begging my uncle to sell this to me, he really dont want to part with it. so the final conclusion was to restore it together.
