  1. Guys By the way why dont we do a proper cost analysis. What is the initial investment to convert the car into gas? What is the price of a gas liter? Does the car run the same milage compared to pertrol (km/L) If different any practical figure from expert users. Put all the figures and see how many miles do we have to run to cover the initial investment and then what is the savings. Any experts in this???? aswe
  2. Machang You go to the German Automobile training institute at Ratmalana. They will do a nice job do an unbelievalbe price. It is a government place where u find government rates. If u need any more details let me know. But the place is bit painful if u are trying a complete job. I mean you will have to find the parts and give them to do the work. Some times the duration may be bit longer than you spend at the agent. But it is really worth to the price and what you get for that. aswe
  3. Nipuna As posted the pros and cons and the issues are to find a good engine or/and to find a good mechanic. My brother in law had the same problem for his camry and now he is very happy. I will advice you to take the car to a leading automobile traning institute whchi our camry got reparired. They are not just mechanics but they are doing every single thing according to the manufactures specification and with a meaning. If you really need a engine change they will advice you to do so. If not they will do a nice work with the existing engine. I did not disclose the place because I thought it violates the fourm's rule of advertising. My wife is also a meachnical engineer who does lot of repairs especially on some specialized vehicles where there are no garages for that. She sends all the normal vehicles like cars. cabs etc to this place. In fact I did my AC repair from them on my Civic and they did an excelent work. After showing to them some times you may change the idea of chaning the engine or you will have to definely do it. aswe
  4. Are u comparing the same?? Air filter from stafford and A*W or from stafford to some funny brand???? I thougt as an agent stafford prices are reasonalble?
  5. Machang Any luck on your engine prob??? Please post your development if any? aswe
  6. Yes macho. I think you got the correct direction. This is a civic? Stafford they do accept credit cards. And also they do a decent jot at the right cost. Good Luck aswe
  7. Machang I am not one of the so called "expert" But better you pay your urgent attention to this as mentioned earlier. Otherwise it may be a point where you start spending $$$. aswe
  8. Machang There is a similar set of pictures passing via mail these days saying it is the inside of Dialog GSM. But they have forgoton to omit/erace or edit the places where some Indian signs are. This is the another one of such. Any way good try. aswe
  9. shakir Please machan with all the details? How much it is going to be?
  10. Dear Guys Thanks for all the info. I see how the battle goes agianst and with Honda. "Pala athi gahatane gal wadinne" any way good responses and it was encouraging Thanks again aswe
  11. Well machang Its not about ek3 and back problem. I had a accident when i was at a damm maruti 800 van. I was at the rear seat while it went on a hump. Due to that I had a terrible disk problem and even could not walk for few weeks. Now I am slowly recovering. I could not use any vehicle other than the ek3. It was ok with me but not even a brand new 121. I love that ek3 as it was the only vehicle could use me for the last one year period. I think it made me to stick to honda.
  12. Machan thanks for the idea and advice. The main reason for me to go for a HRV is the ground clearnace of the civic. I do not run very often on such a bad roads. But unfortunately presently I am living bit far from the main road and the road towards my home is bid of upset. Other situation is I go to Matale for about 2 times a month to see an ayurvedic doctor for a back pain treatment. Otherwise I usually on good roads. Some times I use corolla 121 and found the ground clearance is enaugh for me. But I dont want to chage from civic to corolla due to ground clearance. Having this terrible back pain civic gives me much more comfort compared to corolla. As I told mine is ek3 97 (ferrio) I dont know how the models above 2000. Do they have a better ground clearance? If so I am happy to go for that. Is it that hard to make the choice of a mini SUV???
  13. Guys Also can u guys comment on the ground clearance of Civic compare to corolla etc. aswe
  14. Mcho Thanks for the comment. But I would like to know more on what you mean by underpowered ??. Can any body compare HRV to one of the competitive vehicle.
  15. 100% agrees with the Honda myth about fuel. I use a ek3 97 model (manual) and i found it is very economical. I have avaraged around 11km/l in the city and over 13km/l in the long run. Last April I went Nuwara Eliya and that trip it was avaraged to 12.8km/l. Every time I used dump full tank and zero the meter. So that I know how is the perfermance. The only reason made me to change the car is the ground clearance. Otherwise I am so happy with it. But it is true when it comes to sell the vehicle. Lot of says if it is a Honda then maintaining it is very expensive which is again a myth I say. I did all the work @ Stafford and I am happy with their rates.
  16. Macho Thanks for the info. If you or any body has actually experiace please let me know the fuel consumption of a HRV. And any spcific thing I need to take care or should look for when buying a HRV. Thanks again for the reply. aswe
  17. Hi guys I am interested in changing to a HRV. Compared to civic I expect more ground clearance and space from HRV. (hey why civic has such a low ground clearance). How about a one around 2000 or 2001 model. How is the fuel and maintanance. Pros and Cons of a HRV. Reselling. Can you guys help me out do make the choice. Thanks in advance. aswe
