Supra N is right and the one here IS a 5 door variant with the DSG box. Fantastic drive. One of the best I've drive. Docile family car one moment and near super car performance the next. The one in the show room is now sold and running in the Kotte Thalawathugoda area. Not me But wish it was The prices must have dropped overseas coz the new one is just launched. Supposedly even more refined that the Mk5. So your pal might get a great deal on the run-out Mk5. Ask him to take the DSG option. Its the future.
  2. Hello Fiat, Nice to have another Italophile on board, Sorry no diagram but I have two custom built ones on two of my old cars. And there is no issue. The secret is that the guys who built it had the old one as a sample. They told me that this is important so that they know stuff like required capacity and area etc. What is your car? Is there another that has the original which you might be able to show the guy who built your custome made radiator?
  3. Oh no way. It's such a difficult thing. Had to buy a "cheap" car to avail some cash. Choice was between a BM E30 320i and this. I liked the idea of a mid engined sports car

Oh I love the NE roads. They are my favourite. Actually Alfas seem to come alive on these NE roads! Have managed to get away from so many more powerful cars. I guess they could be close to the Italian Mountain roads and that's where the cars would be developed the most. That said my Alfetta's alignment was simply not right when I drove up. Tyre squeal on every right hander, even the mildest one. This means I'll have to drive her up again soon once sorted
  6. Must check the Power to weight ratios. But then I'm sure driving a mid-engined car especially where there is a step up from a charger requires a lot more skill to get the best of than an electronically controlled 4wd machine. ....... Maybe in the hands of a great driver it could be an interesting duel.... But I am guessing that the 4wd cars will have a lot more traction coming out of a bend. Sure, will show when its done. This is the frustrating period where so many little things are being sorted out. Looking at it is my biggest problem. The paint is BAAAAAD!
  7. Yes I've heard of a Yellow one. Do you know if it is a T-top? Anyways around 3-4 months back I came across a clapped out yellow one in Panadura used car sales joint. As much rust as a Lancia Beta or Alfa Sud . The guy wanted 900k mind you. This was a non SC, but it had been raced; there was a lot of evidence. On the way there I saw a red minter MR2 parked by the side of the road. As I had to make it to a meeting on time I thought I'd have a look one my way back. But it was gone by then.

Looking good CHAPO! Let's try to go and have a look tomorrow!!!
  9. Cheers Prad! Hope you got a nice present with four wheels on your bday!
  10. Not sure which is quicker but the MK1 is credited with the best handling. The Mk2 is known for snap over-steer. Yes there are loads of small mods that can easily take it up to 200bhp. But I just want to get it into decent shape first. It looks embarrassing right now.
  11. Well its one of the rare Supercharged cars in SL and its got the glass T-top as well . But its in quite a mess. I'm slowly un-messing it up while using it . Parts are not cheap and not easy to find. And boy does it have more work or what..... So far it's cost me 900k approx. The car used to be black originally and now is a horrid met blue and badly badly needs a paint. It flies when the SC kicks in and the handling is a dream just like all the reviews said (mind you I've yet to do a 'proper' drive). But the engine sounds like a horrid washing machine after all my Alfas . It's begging for a better exhaust too. The noise is not nice at all. The interior is very 80's and in a way that makes it kind of cool in a retro time warp kind of way. Needs some neatening up though. It's too embarrassing to post a pic as yet. Just gimme a few more months until I get it dressed properly. Planning to have it as my daily driver and give the 156 a break. Might change my mind though.....

  13. Have you guys been watching MotoGP and SBK Superbikes? They've been quite thrilling. Especially the MotoGP 250 class.
  14. Lucky you JC. You have archived 50% of your perfect 10 car garage. I have 3 (well maybe 4) classics which I lusted after. The 3 Alfa Coupes and the Toyota MR2. Another 60% to go ??
  15. If you guys insist on seeing it on wide screen, do hurry, there was hardly anyone for the 4pm!
  16. Went to see it with much enthusiasm. All I have to say is that its another load of crap(IMHO of course)! The plot is babyish, the acting pathetic and even the car chases did not do it for me. Another piece of junk for when you have absolutely nothing else to watch. Loved the Charger though. Made the Impreza look like a plastic box! Really puts the charm of Detroit muscle into perspective. The Chevelle wasn't bad either. But they crashed too many cars
  17. Hey what's that Bugatti doing there ???

    Mustang Gt 4.6l V8

Came across this last month in Vienna. Cart Springs it may might have, but it's hard to ignore the presence of the beast. Only the Ferrari 599 we saw had more!

Heh heh yes! Reminds me of one of my favourite TV programmes UFO - 60's Brit Sci Fi series. Its the Minari. A mid engined kit car based on the Alfasud Sprint mechanical s.
  21. I hope Saab will survive. GM tried to kill it. Hopefully Fiat can resurrect this quirky likable brand!
  22. Graziarla i ragazzi. Apprezzato
  23. Didn't it have a red soft top? It's been changed to black. The red looked a lot hotter!

What a brilliant answer CHAPPY! Prad is not gonna be pleased though
  25. Me too. I don't like the principle of adding cylinders and turbos to increase power and then adding radiators to cool it down. I prefer a more minimalist approach that makes the car fundamentally a sound piece of engineering. I guess the special editions are to flog the remainder of unsold stock. That said I would not say no to a drive on the Nardo track at 400+km/h
