How badly is it rusted? If it's very bad. My suggestion is to find imported panels or ever halves of bodies and weld it onto the good part of your one. That would be the easiest and give the best result with all my experience with rust! If rust is minor then finding a good tinker will be the problem as ever. I know a couple but they are booked into next year.

Talking about the airport project, a little story I heard from my bank manager no less.... The land in the new location for the airport in the south, this crown land was purchased by a well known family in the limelight for Rs. 530.00 per acre prior to the new site being approved and has now been transfered back to the state at Rs.750,000.00 per acre!! Now that's what I call ........ I don't know simply lost for words.

You have a point. However consider these, 1) We are economically not strong enough to eleminate the LTTE totally, especially with their links with South India. 2) The more we try at the expense of neglecting our economy the worse it is for the country - (that's exactly happening now) 3) The birth of the LTTE is a symptom of a problem that this country has had for a long time and it's no use treating the symptom. It will only recurr again probably stronger. - Look at the farce and chaos that's taking place in the East... You simply can't force something down peoples' throats. What's happened in the east is that we have had a fake election there where the party that won controlled everything with their guns. It is IMHO that the SL govt. has given Eelam to Pillayan and gang instead of the LTTE. Do you think that a Singhalese person can go and set up shop there? 4) It's easy for us to talk here in the relative comfort of the South. Just for a moment put yourself as a soldier who's gone for the 30k salary not knowing what moment his life if going to end. And the anxiety of his mother when she gets no mail? Also the innocent civilians in the North who get killed! How is it ever going to end? Imagine the hate in the kith and kin of those killed even accidently by say an air force bomb. This will go on like Israel and Palestine.... There simply has to be a better way. It's not at all ridiculous IMHO to messure success or expense by cost per death. It's an interesting statistic. Consider what a lot of development could have been done with that money! This is just the monetary consideration without the priceless lives of our soldiers. And who knows how many are dying right now??? Don't tell me that you believe the official figures!!! If you don't believe the Daily Mirror I can only hope that you don't believe the Daily News ! Let's not go into Colonialization mate. That's a completely different subject and we need to start another topic. We will never be sure if Ranil's strategy would have worked or not, we did not have the patience to find out. But one thing is certain. Both parties would have got stronger, not just the LTTE. Don't forget that our economy would have boomed and we could have strengthened our defences to and extent that even India would have had to respect us. Now we have to just cow down to whatever they say. And that's exactly what is happening if you read between the lines. I think Ranil did have a vision but he obviously fails to translate it to the people. As for Chandrka IMHOshe was just incompetent. What is certain is that there would have been some fighting, there would have been some destruction but a lot less than what's going on now. Thousands and thousands of lives would have been saved. That itself is worth it. Our economic status would have been a 100 times better. And we would have had many allies. Now we have none at all remember. The allies our present government chose have screwed us - Iran, or gone bankrupt - Pakistan, Or really don't give a damn - China. Anyway coming back to Obama, does anyone think that something similar can happen here? A Tamil or Muslim President???

Well your right of course. But what other options do Sri Lankans have? I'd bet the same thing is happening in the North now. In fact I have heard from the horses mouth and I felt disgusted of course. The only difference is that we can't see it living in the South. With the so called "great leader" Economic development followed his brutal killings. Now we have killings and economic mismanagement! We are getting more and more into debt. If by chance we cannot finish the war soon - and there are so many factors to consider here, Under-estimating the terrorists ability to survive - Like the US has discovered, India helping them again, etc etc. They we are comitting economic suiscide. Then all the fighting will be in vain. An interesting statistic was highlighted in the Daley Miror last week. Considering the 'war' budget since 2004 (excluding our usual defence budget) and the number of tigers killed since the same time according to government figures we have spent Rs. 25 Million per terrorist killed!
-
What a deal! I paid that price for my 205/55/16 Yokos a few months ago
-
Yes true. But being too pre-occupied with "war on Terror" could lead to less time on time spent on taking care of the economy....as we in SL are learning the hard way......again
-
Yes! But at least Obama had a passport before 2006 and has travelled outside the US of A. I am still in shock to learn that Ms. Palin has not and was selected.
-
Spot on. Lee Kwan Yu, Mahatir et all were corrupt but great leaders who fast-tracked economic development like our late great. Our current George W. R is mega corrupt and that's it Pity the honest man we have in politics is not a proper "leader".

Well when popped up I'm quite sure there has to be a small difference to fixed lamps. Maybe it can cut 2mph off the top speed. Not good for marketing I guess to say it will do 168mph when your rivals car does 170!
-
Well the local investors could have made a counter offer then..... It's good to get foreign capital in at a time when things are quite bad. The De Zoysas can use that money to invest elsewhere on new projects. Minority sharholders can do the same. Of course if our economy was strong then there might have been local investors capable of out bidding Al Futain. Blame Mr. Chinthanaya
-
it's afternoon! yawn it was only a dream
-
Well the ones that were there in the early 90's became illegal due to pedestrian safety laws and the height at which these lamps were fixed. Hence the change on the Testarossa to the somewhat ugly 512m. I think the fixed lamps are cheaper as well. But somehow for me pop ups gave cars an intreguing look.

I'm relieved that he won. The world can't take any more Republican economic policies and any more wars on terror that are never won. The Markets around the world have reacted very positively. If McCain won we would have seen another crash. The ecomonic melt down and choosing an inexperienced pretty face as his running mate was MacCain's down fall. (That prank call is hilarious btw ) Now all we need is a local Obama to give our George W Rajapakse a break !!!! Then the world will be a much better place !
-
Brilliant timing by the De Zoysas. Just before the crash. And they got a great price too. As a wise man once said, "Everything's for sale at the right price". Thankfully Vasudeva won't be able to file a case against this !! I believe service levels will improve. Not only that, this will spur the local competition to match these levels too.

Yep looks so much better than the standard car. Love those smoked tail-lamp lesnses. Wish that pop-up lamps were still legal. Front end would have been even "BLACKER"!
-
Go for Ash's suggestion number two - Nego with the company. Hope they are flexible. Bee Emms need to be driven (quite hard) to keep them in ship shape and ensure no annoying problems crop up. I had two E36s one after the other, so I know what you mean. The Aria must be torture after the Beemer!

Twin supercharchers on the V12 gives, 808bhp, 823Nm, 340 km/h 0-100km/h in 3.5s 0-200km/h in 9.7s

Try Michelin with an agent. There's one on Havelock Road opposite the Hindu Kovil. Yokos - U M L . Falken - Amila on Hill Street (I think). Kumhos - ALfred Edirisinghe & Sons Maradana. I thought I saw a Jag S-type being shod with Pirellis of that size at Amila on Malay Street.

Yes I think Timo lost 5 seconds on that lap! And he moved to the WET side of the track. Anyway I think it's best to let it go considering all the Brit bickering about the FIA being pro-Ferrari etc etc. As an aside, how do you piss off lots of fans? If you are Ron Dennis, on British TV you thank your English fans and those in England Oops! Another Ron-erism.
-
What is a bit strange is why Timo on dry tyres stayed on the wet side of the track to let Vettel and Lewis pass !
-
How about Pirelli P6000, Michelin Pilot Sport, Yokohamas and Falken?
-
How about a fully clothed girl zipped up to her neck, gloves and boots driving this Daihatsu minus fenders, bumpers and doors? The badge will have to be stick on somewhere though
-
What a champ!! Brilliant! Is he at Citroen next year as well?
