Perhaps in a hypothetical book called "the history of motoring in Sri Lanka" but not in a Classic car show where most of us expect to see rare and beautiful cars. Firstly there's nothing 'classic' about it and secondly there's are still so many around. A drive to Avissawella and Ratnapura means you'll see them in hoards, some in even better shape than the one on show. For me it's extremely ridiculous as is having more than one Morris Minor and VW Beetle. These are cars we see at least one a week on the streets. To be honest it was a bit heart stopping for a moment for me to see it two years in a row I could understand a 120Y coupe though. At least it looks good.

Yes that was crazy and everyone was man-handling those cars. The colour reminded me of a Mk1 CRV

It was blue. It bugs me when I see a car in a colour thats extremely far off the period. This one came for the Mahagastota revival and we were drooling over it. But unfortunately it had a bad miss and did not run if I remember right. Talking about wrong colors I'm miffed by the Jag Mk in met purple!!!!! Btw it changed hands for 4.1m!!!

The guy used it in UK for some time and brought it under a special permit ....... we are told!

I think the one advertised was a coupe. Could be worth depending on the condition. Classic status.........very long way off.

The 'Stang looks awesome in it new hue with the vinyl top. Did you guys notice that it has a V8 this year? The yellow S1 E-type has got a poper paint at last and looks stunning! Makes the two S3 V12 Es look a bit boring. I thought the layout this year is much better than last... The American metal looks cool as ever. I like the new colour on the Deville Sedan. Some of the other new cars are - The silevr Talbot saloon, Milindu's pre-war Hillman, Lancia Fulvia Berlina, Sunbeam Rapier Coupe, Was the NSU Ro80 there last year?? Nice Merc 350S W116! Thumbs down for me - That green capri with the hedeous paint work , That crap Datsun 120Y !!! Can't understand why it keeps showing up , The E36 BMW convertibles (even if the good looking one used to be mine ) Hardly show stuff when sedans are so common on our streets.

Well the different car shows are organized by different institutions. This one is by F**** P*** and the Classic Car Club and is by far the best, thanks to the Classic cars. The new car area is pathetic and not worth even entering there unless you want to get awy from the rain . Anyway can't blame the importers.....biz must be deisasterous.

There will be around 200 classic and vintage cars at the show. As at 10.30pm yesterday there were 180+. There aren't many new classics but still def worth a look. I'm guilty of not showing my car as well as it simply couldn't be finished despite my best efforts.

Aha I see. Yes the prices actually should be cheaper than Pugs as in other countries. It would be nice to see a few 2 dr C4s and a C6 or two on our dull roads!

Drove thru Biyagama road and to Kaduwela this evening. Roads are atrocious. I was so nervous that water will be sucked into the air intake (V low on a 156). Almost turned back twice. Thankfully nothing happened. Very depressing when you think of the state of the country!

It's a Maserati colour. I like to think of it as my Ghibli Mate in fact they don't undertake any such thing. The manager there is a friend of one of my close buddies. And he's owned a couple of Italian cars some time back. Traces of the powerful germ still remain in his blood I guess, so that's why he agreed to do the painting as a special favour. I got the tinkering done elsewhere. But they regretted it later as it was a tough job unlike modern cars and accident repairs. In fact they took around 8 months fiddling with it. I was extremely frustrated. But the end result is very good. The same goes for the Giulia. It is being done by Micro as a special favour. I made friends with the guys and Dr. Lawrence and his nephew are both great Alfisti. So I'm really lucky. I did not even ask. They said they'd like to do it as a favour!

How come I missed Boudais' incident? Did they actually show it on STAR? I thought I saw the whole thing. Anyway Lewis and Massa both deserved the penalties. Ron is winging as usual..... Well about Vettel..I think yes he was a bit lucky but he's a brilliant driver and did not miss a beat during the whole race. Deserves the win! I'm sure he'll become a more frequent visitor to the podium soon.
