  1. well pick 15 to 20.... they have to be the kinda songs that REALLY work when you're in the car..... come on man, its part of the fun!
  2. I listen to all sorts machan! this combination really only works together in a specific situation..... in the car, on the road please add up your play list as well dude, be interesting to see different takes on this... Cheers
  3. Im sure everyone here sometimes feels the need to "break free" for a bit right? I dunno about you guys but the way i do it is to hop in my car and take a nice drive..... and obviously, one important component is the right music, which brings us to the thread... Assuming you wanted to take a DRIVE, anywhere.. be it an early sunday morning blast around colombo, or a late night trip to the hills, if you could burn a single audio disc (im purposely making the limit here), what are those 15 or 20 songs gonna be? Top Gear did a feature on "greatest driving songs ever" a while back if you remember, and i agree with most of their choices..... but i wondered what the options would be if it was, say a CD of Driving music... well I thought about it, and here's My Playlist of the songs that IMO would be perfect for a proper Driver+Car+road kinda thrash..... Feel Free to Add, Agree/Disagree, or create your own list.... and i apologize if some appear obscure.... i have weird taste 1. Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen 2. Little Red Corvette - Prince 3. Jump - Van Halen 4. Fuel - Metallica 5. Born to be Wild - Steppenwolf 6. Tonight is what it means to be young - Fire Inc 7. Don't Stop Me Now - Queen 8. Radar Love - Golden Earring 9. The Anthem - Good Charlotte 10. Proud Mary - CCR 11. Life is a Highway - Rascall Flatts 12. Livin' on a Prayer - Bon Jovi 13. The Weight - The Band 14. Dancin' In the dark - Bruce Springsteen 15. We Built This City - Starship 16. Someday We'll Know - New Radicals 17. Rollin' - Limp Bizkit
  4. ROFLMAO! good one
  5. as ever, the conscience of the forum , good old Don, very well said.....
  6. you DO have a solid point there.... and im 100% with you on the inherent entertainment of a bit of sideways fun! but isnt the whole point behind the Nissan GTR the mere fact that it includes the driver in the whole game? from as far back as i can remember, that was the key thing anyone raving about a skyline GTR went on about.... the mere fact that for all it's AWD and ATTESA and enough acronyms to make alphabet soup with, It still managed to provide a healthy dose of driver involvement, even to the extent of making the driver feel (unlikely as that may be), that He/she had something to do with the brilliance...... this made it stand out in stark contrast to things like the Mitsu 3000GT, and various alldrive audis, that went the same Turbo-4wheel drive route, but failed to involve..... and to me, the new GTR seems to be the taking of this philosophy to a whole other level..... of course, having never driven a Nissan GTR, I cant really be 100% certain of any of this...
  7. ah right, this is a normal sprinter... the "difference" you've mentioned is simply the fact that it is a hatchback.... the Ae81 corolla too had a very similar hatchback version, the reason there arent THAT many of them around is because hatchbacks in general have lesser demand than four-door saloons here in SL.... never really understood why that was, possibly some misguided ideas of prestige...
  8. it isnt really DEAD as such..... just low-key.... besides which, in the current situation in the country, a Public online forum is not really the most sensible place to discuss organizing drag races.....
  9. ripper, do you think it's possible that Anura has stumbled across an AE85 or 86, hence the "look" he mentions? wouldnt be TOO Suprised if the seller has mislabeled the car....... Anura, is there any chance of getting a picture?
  10. Many happy returns of the day Boss!
  11. so does this mean that if the government here decides to cut tax on indian cars (unlikely, i know...) that jag and LR might fit in as well? now there's something to think about
  12. I doubt that is going to help much, I think Pradfred has something rather more powerful in mind.....
  13. two door mark 1 escorts can be found from time to time, couple were at the recent motor show, and there was a heavily tweaked one for sale in last sunday's paper..... MkII 2 doors i'm not sure, as I personally haven't come across any yet..
  14. This Sounds interesting, care to share a few more details mate?
  15. yep 1300GT, 1967 but on a 10 sri plate....... it isnt in very good nick unfortunately because the previous owner basically used it as a budget runner...... but it runs and can be caned, so it's good fun! hoping to sort it out eventually, either do a proper spec resto, or rebuild it into something wild and scary.... yeah i noticed too.... Devinda had checked it out, its been done up quite extensively apparently, I heard that 300k cash would buy it though...... the quoted price was just ridiculous!
  16. well, its only got the 1300 engine, and the original carb (supposed to be a Weber) has been replaced by an ordinary ford carb, and to cap it all off it has LOADS of filler on the body.... so it isnt all that quick, but its still fun...... As for the Rear-Drive..... IMO most entertaining layout on earth, its VERY tail happy, but pretty simple to control too.... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=1901...mp;id=506251059
  17. you're welcome..... it's actually a two door Mk1 from 1967, I think it's one of the earliest production batch, but no way to really make sure because the car was registered here in 1979, and the previous owners.... well lets just say they weren't exactly enthusiasts
  18. depends on the sort of nick they are in really..... escorts: a sound runner with a decent body/paint should set you back no more than 150,000. around 200k for a minter.... but then since very few people buy these cars they can be had for even less with a bit of bargaining. Btw, 2 door versions of the MKII are VERY rare here.... havent seen even one yet. As for Capris..... quoted prices tend to be higher than escorts, in the 250k - 400k range for decent cars...... the higher prices tend to come from those who dont really know the car, but are looking to make a quick buck.
  19. hey duncan, nice to hear from you after a long time..... the very best for 2008 and beyond!
  20. nice.... it was a 4 door though, right? and by the way, was the dash fully functional? thats what mine looks like
  21. It would help if you can tell us a bit more about the problem you have, as well as the make/model of your car.....
  22. I heard from a friend who had been to the LA Auto show that it was being promoted as "Infiniti G35 Performance at Less Than Saturn Sky Prices" The saturn sky, starts at $25,595, so i guess the hyundai will start at sub 25k USD.... which makes it quite a buy
  23. so when do we get to see the babe kim? at the next G2g? which reminds me.... isnt it about time we had one?
  24. IMO i think hyundai are onto a winner here.... It looks superb from most angles, and the best part is that it doesnt ppear to be a copy of anything else..... If it drives as well as it looks, and the price is right, it'll be a Hit...
