  2. For example? A Range Rover Maybe?
  3. So that means the "Lady" can enter?.... if he still has it by then....
  4. Congrats team AL!!!!! brilliant job, lets all aim for 10 mill by the end of the year huh? Cheers
  5. This is slightly OT, but i couldnt start a new thread for it so here goes..... can someone tell me how much it'll cost to plate a pair of bumpers? specifically, those on a VW bug......? also where can i get it done? Thanks
  6. hmm... Bristol is probably THE most eccentric carmaker on earth..... they turn out tiny numbers of exquisitely hand crafted, Extremeley expensive GT's for a VERY select clientele...... the curent range is the Blenheim 3, and the Fighter (in the pic), which use an old chrysler V8 and a NA V10 from the viper respectively. No magazine/Tv show/ Media has tested any bristol vehicle properly to date, as the company "doesn't feel the need".... so it's gonna be very difficult to ascertain their performance claims...... However, bristol cars are Exceptional for their Aerodynamic qualities (the company used to be a planemaker) so you never know
  7. Reviving this topic, has anyone seen the new editions of the indian car mags?? Specifically AUTOcar iNDIA AND oVERDRIVE...? I got the latest issues yesterday and i must say i was V. Impressed..... give or take the odd spelling mistake and a few layout issues, they were bloody good..... I had previously dismissed indian car mags as useless based on CAR India (Suffering from the generic CAR poblem....) but these are actually pretty darn good....... very informative and a genuine interesting read for the car guy (or girl)....
  8. its in SL anyway, cos if you look at the building in the background, you'll see that the sign is for a Keells Supermarket..... Speeddemon bro, where is it?
  9. GTam, you never said a truer word mate..... absolutely spot on!...... true beetles aren't exactly in short supply, but ones of the calibre that i'm after that are actually FOR SALE certainly are..... to make a long story short, i dont mind paying top dollar for a perfect(ish) car, but i'm not gonna pay insane amounts for a new coat of paint over a shoddy one....... just yesterday i saw a super beetle (1303) at a car sale which had a new paint job, leather seats (from another car), and an air conditioner...... paint was good but the details (window rubbers, running boards etc), were the same as any old bug...... the front bumper was covered i rust, and the jokers wanted 575,000 for it!!!!! btw, i'm off to see two more today, which are supposed to be good (the leads were provided by the fellow who sold the car before i could check it......nice of him) so wish me luck...
  10. Hey guys, thanks for the support, sorry i couldn't post sooner, was a bit tied up over the weekend..... @ Hola, Machan, as D_z said, you aint gonna believe the kinda Cr** we have looked at among those 20 cars..... so 20 cars is nothing really, and as @ today i have leads on 5 more cars to look at...... @ MRM, Spot on brother...... I saw a lot of those jobs where the owner slapped anew coat of paint over a TON of rust......and then quotes insane amounts for it....... and if any questions are asked, you get the "Its a 40 year old car., yada yada........" as you said.... bloody annoyance and as D_z pointed out (no need for me to even post since hes about nuh? ), I found a really great deal in the paper yesterday, went to see it and it looked excellent...... told the Seller i'll bring my mechanic around today, only for the asswipe to call me up in the evening and say he had freakin' sold it........ Honestly could've Kicked the bugger @ that point but I WILL PERSEVERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Fighting the temptation to be very rude here.......... but you're right, its "wanna".....
  12. Oh yes..... It certainly does look very "Star Wars" doesn't it? but you're right, the best ever Civic design-wise was the EG8 generation.....
  13. As I said Before, I do like Minis (never driven any though ) ..... but my pocket ain't gonna stand the cost of a good one i'm afraid..... which is why i'm gonna get a bug
  14. or PAJERO and complete the circle .....
  15. the Soluna is not thai assembled is it?? I thought it was either singapore or india??? correct me if i'm wrong..
  16. Hmm..... it doesn't look as if they have DONE much does it? i mean, the profile is exactly the same..... only the nose and the colour schemes seem to have changed...... this looks just like the time when the "Intercooler" Pajeros became Monteros (with flared wheel arches and different head/tail lights) dont ya think??
  17. hey guys, sorry this is late (As usual ) @ Miniace, machan, can you find out if Kularatne still has the car? and if hes willing to get rid of it? thanks Well about Minis, dont get me wrong, I like the cars in general (D_z ge Boru Mada!!!! ), but two things prevent me from buying one right now.... First, I just can't get used to the driving position...... at least on standard cars.... and second of course.... PRICE..... Simply dont have the finances for a good Mini right now..... which is why i'm aiming slightly lower
  18. Hey mate, I DID find a car, (the one i described in the mail) but too many issues with it machan..... so still hunting. The Capri question came up simply because D_z and I saw a car while out and about... at first the price was reasonable, but the moment we expressed interest it went high!!
  19. OT again, but was I the only one to NOT notice that d_z has passed the 1000 mark?? its freakin' 1100 already!!
  20. Miniace machan, this is a bit OT, but do you know anything about the spares availability for Ford Capris? can parts be sourced?
  21. Really? thats interesting.... any idea why that is though?
  22. If I may comment, IMO this could be a real photo, 1. as D_z pointed out, it says ALPINA (which corresponds with the stitching on the steering wheel-Alpina Colours) , which means of course no speed limiters. 2. its a left hand drive car, (notice the A-pillar on the LHS of the pic), so most probably an Autobahn pic 3. the tach position just about corresponds to the speed, (from what i know, on a startup check, the needles on an E36 beemer dont swing..... but not sure about Alpinas 4. and last but not least, the Fuel consumption readout, (the little meter at the bottom of the tach, which says "L/100km"), which only moves when the engine is running, is at a correspondingly high figure.... either way, we desperately need the comment of the person who posted the pic, and of a BMW expert....
  23. Well, not impossible as such, just hard to do if you dont want to end up paying 600,000 for a volkswagen bug and that figure is NOT a misprint!!!!
  24. Rude? How exactly?? I didn't notice mate....
  25. ur right bro.... but I think I might actually have found the right car here...... will keep you updated....
