Have You Been Cheated? Post Your Experience Here!
Supra_Natural replied to kaushama's topic in General Automotive
You don't have to develop a paranoid attitude towards important transactions dude.. All you need to do is keep your eyes open and use a little bit of common sense, simple as that. -
Well I suppose it does head in the direction of nagging a tad bit. But I meant more the fact that the BS on that thread completely derailed something that was genuinely useful. And yes, I was guilty of fueling the fire too. In this instance I feel Mkx may have been justified pointing this out.

nah... it was the obvious question. I should have mentioned it at the end lol -
Come now, that was uncalled for... MkX had a point, the flooding thread WAS completely overwhelmed by Uncle's antics, so anybody who posted a query had no hope of getting an answer. The whole point of the AL forum is that we help fellow members out, what he pointed out here was that his question was totally drowned out by all the vitriol thrown at our nut polisher. I'll warrant his was not the only query that got missed thanks to that idiot. Just my 2c

Supra_Natural replied to kotte mafia's topic in General Automotive
It isn't a lincoln Mark, Its actually a Stutz Blackhawk. Coachbuilt with handmade panels and such off of a Pontiac Grand Prix. Built from 1971-1987 for customers with tons of money and err... "eccentric" Tastes.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stutz_Blackhawk http://www.madle.org/ebh.htm -

Good point actually, A broker or seller is at the end of the day running a business so whatever they charge on top is, as you say, what they consider their service to be worth. If the buyer doesnt like it, they always have the option of looking at another car. -
Gadzooks! somebody has actually scanned and diagrammed Sir's / da_queer_guy's brain!! Explains a lot actually.... Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Oh for heavens sake people let's stop feeding these trolls eh? This is a genuinely useful thread that got started here so lets not derail it because of one clown, it's fairly obvious that our Rockcity donkey adores the attention we give him, so perhaps a good way to deal with him would be to not give him what he craves? Im aware that it's obvious, just stating the facts. And here's my story of being cheated... In the early 1990's my dad came across a Toyota sprinter Carib at a car sale that was run by a known party. It was a really nice car with a very high spec, TEMS electronic suspension, push button 4WD, sports interior, climate control, the works. He liked it so much that he bought it almost immediately without giving it a going over properly, egged on by the fact that the importer was known and supposedly trustworthy. Turned out to be a serious mistake. First problems were from the engine, which was a 4A-FE if i remember correctly with an electronically controlled twin carb set up. That thing was so complicated that not even the toyota agents at the time had anyone who could make sense of it! I think they were out of sync or something but the net result was fuel consumption in the 4-5 Km/l range. After trying for six months he finally had enough and yanked out the system to replace it with the single carb set up from the standard brand new spec corolla. Next it turned out that the TEMS suspension packed up and remained stuck on the stiff setting, that was not fixed for as long as we had the car since importing the right bits would have had to be done personally from japan and would have cost an arm and a leg! The final straw was when we found out during an inspection that the frame had actually cracked, no doubt due to a severe accident in japan. According to the guy who found it, the impact would probably have made the car a write off, and our wonderful importer would have got it for a song! Anyway, that was about the limit and we finally got rid of the thing a few months later. Moral of the story: when buying a car, ALWAYS look at more than one example, if the car is a rare one make sure you can source the right parts for it (easier nowadays than it was then) and most important of all, get a trusted person who knows the mechanical aspect to check the vehicle out thoroughly and if possible get it inspected at the relevant agents as well. The small time and money investment made at this point will pay dividends later on! -
must. not . feed troll................

Sir, The answer to your question Mr Delish is that All manufacturers use boxer engines nowadays as is easier to remove fanbelts and drive in rivers... Your comment shows that you are an uneducated and third class person not going to good school and that you have incurable syndrome..

Sir, You are very right this forum is indeed a place for people to sort out their vehicle issues and get Correct information on how to solve them. Notice how I said "Correct" in the previous line? That very neatly explains why we use this forum to challenge Your "knowledge". Because if we didn't and people actually followed your advice they would be in a hell of a lot more trouble than they are already! AL has a reputation as a place where people can get good solid advice on auto issues and we certainly wouldnt want that ruined thanks to one "maka baas" type who imagines that removing a fan belt is all you need to drive a car through a flood! What your language (and your unhealthy obsession with other members' genitalia) proves about your education, Uncle, I won't go into here. Honestly what DO you sepnd your "over 6 hours on the internet" on? Hmmmmmm.............. -

Sir, You certainly are a laugh and a half. What on earth is up with your obsession with people's "equipment"? Have you spent your "68 years of life steady and healthy" in the proverbial closet and is this your way of coming out of it? Whatever works man we on AL don't judge.... However you do need to realize that this is a site which has readers of all ages and generally speaking in the language that you pick up by working near (or is it inside?) a canal is generally not appreciated. It appears that the caravan is still upside down. No regards. S_N -

Well you have just commented on it haven't you? Why botther saying you aren't going to comment and then comment? Regardless, as to your question, I believe you wanted to know what you needed to get checked right? Go to a good Auto A/C place, explain the issue and tell them to check the compressor belts and pulleys and such for any debris.. -

Sir, Go and polish a windshield. It appears that you have a very big bolt loose indeed! Best regards -
Fellow GS owner here.... Gotta say I've always liked them best, though I do have a soft spot for labs since one of my close friends owns 3!

this sort of mentality is exactly why anything that isnt a 1.5 liter or lower japanese box has bad resale value in this country. Simply a matter of perception by a bunch of uninformed sheeple, promoted by those who make their money selling the aforementioned boxes. Oh well, at least it means that those of us who appreciate fine machinery dont have to pay insane prices.... And that's just fine by me!
