  1. No need of this machan, You can increased the height of your seating position if you need. but once you get used to the car and know where your corners are you do not need these at all. just give it few weeks. you'll be fine
  2. Under low resistance smooth road conditions which was a continuous slanted plane with a bit of twists and turns where the vehicle was travelling with (not against) the gravitational force, i have achieved over 50 kmpl in my Lancer Ex (MT) predominantly on 3rd and 4th gears. in that case, I guess a hybrid should be able the achieve 35kmpl easily.
  3. The one and only mechanic I use other than the agents is "Sarath" (0112 76 46 49) in Peiris Avenue, Kalubiwila. He is about 800m down the Peiris avenue when you come from the side of Kalubowila teaching hospital. He is a properly educated, very reliable guy in his late 40s - early 50s have been operating there for a long time and has his own list of clients. He has 2-3 golayas working for him. he was recommended by one of my lecturers in uni and I have been with him ever since. From Starlet EP 76 to Lancer CS to Wagorn R have been in his care. I use him for the my mechanical repairs of the Lancer Ex currently but I have not given him the Punto yet for any mechanical repairs. All of my vehicles he took care of are manual transmissions but, majority of the vehicles I see in his place are automatic thus I guess he is good in both types of vehicles. Very reasonable guy sometimes he even refuses to take money for jobs like changing break pads etc... buy I always make sure he is paid. He is cost conscious but is against use of cheep parts. He also does painting and other tinkering related work but he is a bit slow on delivery on these jobs as he is tied up daily with mechanical repairs. The biggest repair I did with him was the gear box repair including clutch pump, clutch plate and pressure plate replacement of my Lancer CS which I ran for 40K km after without any complaints. I fully painted 2 cars (with in 3 years) of mine with him and both cost me only Rs 35,000 each including material and labour. However, he took 1.5 months to deliver the car in both the instances and did a very neat job.
  4. WOW machan... congrats bro.. you just took me back to the day that I bought my baby.. Take care of her, trust me she will treat you good.
  5. I saw a new black Ex with black interior at unimo when I went to put my car to service today was wondering if it was yours. (Did you order red or black?)
  6. Could you kindly explain scientifically how a reconditioned vehicle is more suitable to SL condition than a brand new vehicle made to order? would love to pick your brain on this matter.
  7. Adding to Trinity's point, I am a person who used a Lancer CS 2001 for 3 years which I bought for 1.5 mil in 2009 and sold for 1.75 in 2012 within 2 days of posting the advertisement. And sathyajithj99, you are questioning about secondhand sell-ability of these vehicles. Open you eyes and see where the value is in vehicles without merely following the heard.
  8. SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... Don't say these things in public...
  9. Great to hear that. Please do share pictures when you get your hands on her.
  10. Man we have a huge Axio fan here. Keep it going. Good for you machan. (even better for us)

  12. Mr. Sylvi, I was referring to a recent event of a galloping horse. Last time I checked I was a man and I haven't worshiped a horse in my life. thus, every man cannot be worshipping a horse. Harry
  13. If I am not mistaken, SX4 sedan is made in India. I do not trust the Indian made vehicles to deliver long term peace of mind. If I were you, I would test drive the both models thoroughly before making any decision. Choose the model you feel which gives you most value for money. If you are buying the car to sell it then buy a Toyota if not do not worry selling the car (you are buying the car at 2/3 the quoted price anyway) and make the choice which will make you happy. For me its Lancer Ex all the way.
  14. Guess I should get into Politics then. Mokada kiyanne set wemuda wedeta?

  16. @Bracket, I only today had a close look at the new 161. Man, what were you thinking?.....
  17. If your budget is 2.5 mil, the best option I can recommend is a 2007-2008 Lancer CS series. If interested, this model was discussed recently on a tread in AL. Out of the choices given Fit aria is a good choice provided that you can get a 2007-08 model for that price. with the lancer you may be able to have a newer car with some spare cash in your hand. For me, spending 2.5 mil on a Elite or a Maruti is a waste of money
  18. Its better for people like us who doesn't not want to drive a car every tom dick and harry has But every tom and dick doesn't have this harry's car
