Batteries are fine and getting charged without a problem. I am changing AC to dual now and the person who does that says he will test the load and may be needing a higher capacity alternator. However I didn't get it done completely yet and therefore can not do a load test now. Anyway I also feels it may need to have a higher capacity alternator. What he suggest is to re-wind the current one. I need to find possible ways I can do it with lower cost and also has to be durable. Thank you Rumesh88 for the reply but what would you suggest if it will need higher capacity?

I need to get more amps from the current alternator if possible. Yes I have. And also a volt meter. I may need to upgrade & will do a load test soon. If it needs more amperage, what would you suggest? Replace with a new alternator that can produce higher amperage? Rewind the one having now? Or any other suggestion? Thank you Watchman for the replies.

Hi experts, I kindly need your advice on the following matter. What makes it possible to increase the amount of amps produced by an alternator of a Mitsubishi 4DR5 J44 jeep? I got few suggestions and will list it as; 1. Rewind the alternator 2. Re-size the pulley (I think to make it fast) I do not know any of those are practical. However without replacing, what ways I can think of getting more power from the current alternator? I really appreciate if you could share the experience. Thanks. PS: With the load of AC, Headlights and other electrical stuff, it seems there is more power needed. However I didn't test properly and looking for ways that I can follow if in case a higher amperage is needed. Therefore your replies are highly appreciated.

Basically you can do it. Calculate your energy consumption and find out how many panels you need based on the output of each panel you are going to buy. Inverters are expensive. So first you find the total cost that will incur if you need to do it by yourself. Also you have to get permission from electricity board and ask for a special meter which will measure the total power generated and consumed that the rest will be billed for you. (Basically a meter that can reverse your consumption at day time when panels provide electricity) If your inverter is up to the standard, you can get permission from electricity board and they will replace it. Solar panels are expensive to buy at first but for the first 10 years they are meant to be working without any deduction of efficiency but after that there will be a little loss. ( may be 10- 20%) There are places which you can find solar panels imported from European countries and sell for cheaper prices. There are many types of solar panels (quality wise) that you will have to read and understand. Apart from all those, no matter how much you generate and add it to the grid, if in case a power failure occurs you will get effected because you do not store it anywhere. However storing is costly due to higher cost of batteries. But you can use 1 or 2 batteries (2 * 90Ah) to store and rest you can feed to the main grid so that any time if there is a power failure, you can use the batteries at least for lighting. I have done the second part which I have separate wiring for solar lights at home with batteries with LED bulbs that are being used daily. One of my friend is running a grid tie interver from his panels. But he is not able to avoid power cuts because he does not store it anywhere. So you decide what you want and come up with final solution. Happy DIY project.

Does all the time... simply works much better than the search on site.

Good that all get reduced at same level. Yes At least once a month. No harm checking it once in two weeks. Also better to check it before a long drive. Visit http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=147

Though it is operating in many countries, It is good that someone experienced with this can share it please.

I heard mid of this year.. BYD is coming to the market via laugfs. I saw that they are testing 2 vehicles sometimes back and called them to know what is going on. Heard that, still insurance companies are creating their packages for the vehicle and tax structure is not yet defined by the government. Just because it is pure electronic car, it has not much taxes due to green concept I guess on other countries but heard that it is different here in SL now (usual fact). It seems a car may price around 5-7 millions. Anyway will have to wait till it comes to the market to see actual figures. About leaf, I think the agent is still waiting to introduce it to the market. Even if there were some advertisements on news papers saying "Changing stations will be available island wide" I don't see any of those still. If anyone knows something, it is really worth posting it here. Thanks.

Its a good decision I think. Anyway there can be pros as well as cons of anything. So its good to let it test and implement. Good move. I personally think 3-wheel and motorcycles are the ones that makes the traffic conditions worse. (Not all but mostly and sometimes even cars do the same. )

Hi Sahankal, Though I have no experience on Toyota aqua, What Komisiripala said is true and to add something to that, I don't think you can do much on that vehicle due to limited space and things it got with the suspension system. Also if you are to do that, consider the effects it gets to the electronics and electrical system as well. As far as I know, changing on those may directly effect to EBD, ABS and so called new stuff coming with latest vehicles. You may consider replacing some parts but to do that you will have to consult an expert.

Y not? let all know what you know about those please..

Converted to LP Gas? No way. Also what I have read is that, the major difference on facelift is the look it gets. But I don't know what else get enhanced.
-
Comparing facelift to pre-facelift, is it only the look is different or any other enhancement such as suspension/technical...etc?
-
Great.. Thanks coolcar. BTW, If possible please share whether you experience considerable differences between AD and Wingroad compared to comfortability and other related aspects such as durability...etc, really worth to know. Thanks.
-
Thanks iRage for the speedy response. Mostly it will be an AD Wagon or Wingroad which I am mostly interested in due to the reason of price differences between Toyota and Nissan. I noticed that many people have commented that Wingroad is more comfortable than AD and don't think such kind of things can't be expected from a conversion. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Hi, I am looking for a car most preferably a wagon type to buy and found basically following 4 types in the market that I am interested in; 1. Nissan AD Wagon 2. Nissan Wingroad 3. Toyota L Touring 4. Toyota G Touring What I got to know for some cars is that; Some Nissan AD Wagons have converted to Wingroad as they say. For my knowledge, I don't look for converted ones which I think either a genuine AD or Wingroad would be nice but if someone could explain how this conversion goes; really appreciate it. Also is it possible that L and G touring also are able to convert from one another? Such cases, if the seller is not willing to share the details (+ we don't know how to find in detail); how is it possible to decide the car we see is a genuine or converted? Apart from that I found very interesting topics discussed on the forum and thanking to all those contributors, please comment on this thread as well. If you are an owner of a wagon on any brand, please share your thoughts about pros and cons about what you use at the moment which certainly a great help for us to know a bit more about it. Thanks a lot in advance.

If you have a valid driving license, why do you want to keep your L Board? Also couldn't find exact information but below will be helpful. Question : 3. My son has not completed eighteen years of age. Can he use my private car for learning purposes? Answer: For the purpose of learning to drive a Motor Vehicle a person who has attained eighteen years may notwithstanding that he not the holder of the driving licence, drive on a highway any motor vehicle, other than a motor coach, hiring car or a lorry carrying passengers or goods. If you are competent to drive you can teach your son/daughter provided a L shape board is fixed to the front/rear of the vehicle. You should also obtain a learner Insurance policy. The learner should be over eighteen years of age for the trainer to obtain a learner Insurance Policy. http://www.police.lk/index.php/traffic-police/55

Free Gps Navigator For Android (Mapfactor Navigator)
Nishan.dj replied to newone's topic in DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
What do you mean by not accurate? Did you get the route correct? Voice navigation must work 1km, 200m, 100m and on the spot. See if you have activated the GPS. -

What do you mean by that? Kindly explain pls. because what I face is that, It says the way to destination either shortest, cheapest ( Don't know how the app think as it is the way cheapest but) or fastest way but most of the times, we have to take our own route from experience because of the reason that the suggestion road condition is too bad or is a heavy traffic way. Also the map does not have almost all the roads in Sri Lanka especially outside Colombo. -

As per my knowledge Google voice navigation does not work in SL and what this map does is that it gets the destination from the Google and then the map itself create the route. Install and try it as it is free. You may find it interesting. But you won't be able to get real time traffic on this map. -

I have been using this and its good offline navigator. Also you can use Google (Derived from Google Maps API I assume) as an option to give your destination but then you need to activate mobile data just to get the correct destination. Thereafter its offline. You can minimized the app as it can run background while travelling and voice navigation will work and let you know the directions before 1 km, 200m, 100m and on the spot of each turn. -
It is a good idea which you will be the owner of your own vehicle but the amount that you can get from a personal loan is limited and calculated based on the salary and other loans taken isn't it?
