  1. Thanks Harshan, got the car checked out and it turned out to be a faulty 'thermostat switch'
  2. Reaches upto about 3/4 of the temperature guage, I'm assuming that whatever the car, the temperature needle should remain at or slightly below the mid point of the temp guage and should not be moving unless you have a problem with the cooling system.
  3. Will check that too. Thanks machang
  4. Don isn't the fan set up to kick in when the coolant reaches a certain temperature? I can see that the temperature guage needle rising by a significant amount above the midpoint when climbing and also feel that the engine is running hot than usual. and yes the radiator was flushed after the gasket repair.
  5. Guys replaced the head gasket and now the bubbling problem is solved, but the engine heats up a bit when climbing (dosent boil, but still the engine heats up), and I FEEL that the radiator fan dosen't kick in at the right time now, what is the problem now? Thermostat valve? (temperature is normal when driving on level roads) And also there is seems to be an oil leak from the wheel nut threads on the rear wheels! What is causing this problem? i replaced the brake washers too. Please help me out guys. Cheers!
  6. will try the radiator flush guys, but the fan dosen't seem to kick in without the a/c on!
  7. thanks don, will try that and see how it goes.
  8. din see any white smoke and fans are working fine, and the previous owner had put in a larger condenser and so both the fans are wired to work with the a/c on. Could a bad thermostat valve be the cause machang? How can i know if it is the water pump?
  9. guys brought a civic ViRS a few days back and there seems to be a problem with it, a white foam forms on top of the coolant when the radiator cap is removed and there is no bubbling, just the foam. And the there is also no oil in coolant and coolant in engine oil, so a head blown head gasket can be ruled out yea? the temperature guage sists about 2 bars ABOVE midpoint though, what would be the problem here? Plz help me out guys. Cheers!
  10. machang sorry for the late reply, m sure the mileage is genuine but what i was worried about was the rebuild bro.
  11. YOM 2000 i guess, and that car had an autobox so guess the spares for that wont be a problem?
  12. thanks bro.
  13. thanks for the input range
  14. i m not very sure mate, sorry
  15. yea peri, apparently its the same car.
  16. guys need some quick info on carina GTs. A friend is hoping to buy one that seems to be in good nick, but the problem is the car aleady has done about 125,000kms. Read through some old threads and saw some guys mentioning about the engine needing a 'rebuild' close to 150k. Is there any truth to this? And what are the things involving this 'rebuild' and any idea of the costs involved? Is the engine in this car unreliable? Are there any special issues to look for in this car and engine? Cheers!
  17. sorry guys i thought "v6" was kinda like some grade not a v6 engine! It sure didn't sound like a v6. It had a pretty wide body kit nd brembo brake calipers. Will post some for you guys to see. But that 140 was in fourth gear i guess..
  18. 140+ kmph as a passenger in a renault clio V6 : kandy-digana road
  19. Thanks madz, didn't know that you guys had a branch in kandy! Will go there as soon as possible
  20. Guys sorry for opening a new thread but here's the problem, I want to advertise my car in AL but I'm not sure of how to make the payment. Should I pay to Commercial bank and get bank slip and then e-mail the photos or? Would appreciate some quick info on this matter. Cheers!
  21. Dropped you a PM mate. Please check :) TC!

  22. Thanks to both komi and nexus... Komi any idea on how to check if it is CVT oil that is being used in the car? I mean does it have any significant colour to the oil like the maroon/red colour of ATF?
  23. Hey guys, Can someone please advice me regarding a honda civic. Car is pretty similar to this : http://www.autolanka...ad.asp?ID=64828 Car is a Civic Ferio. (and I don't know what "Ferio" means, could use some help ) Is this a V-tec engine? and the steering wheel had two buttons to change from E-D-S. My guess is that Transmission is CVT? Is there any issues with this particular gearbox? And is there anything in particular I should specially check for in this car? Reg nos were GS- and YOM-99 asking price 2mil. Cheers!
  24. Off wiki: Corolla 141 brand new import (3ZZ-FE) 109 hp (81 kW) @ 6000 rpm. Max. torque is 110 lb/ft. of torque (150 Nm) @ 3800 rpm. Weight: 1255-1300kg and It has a normal automatic trans rather than CVT. Corolla axio (japanese domestic) (1NZ-FE) 80 kW (107 hp) at 6000 rpm with 141 Nm (103 ft·lbf) of torque at 4200 rpm. Weight : 1140-1150kg and it comes with CVT SEE?
  25. Brand new 141 is said to be under powered (at least to some people). That 1.6L motor doesn't seem to have enough guts to pull the heavy car. And the rpm meter won't be much of a use unless its a manual transmission.
