  1. personally i too prefer ae100 over 110. simply becoz it shares the same engine with 110 and the ae 100 has got a decent look than 110. but keep in mind that ae 100 is reaching the second decade hence the spares are becoming a little scarce and 110 is a younger car and spares are ample.
  2. original beeding would be difficult to find.but a suitable one would available in any windscreen shop.
  3. before commenting on anything else, i must say the prices you have got are absurd. few months ago i cheked a cs3 manual with a J plate and that was around 1.8 million. and CS2 cedia is around 1.8 so before making any decision, you should realise that there are much more attractive delas availble for a budget of 2.4 provided that you can afford.
  4. yes, agreed.hardly any performance variance between the two. Vi can keep up with a RS without any extra effort.
  5. 96 to 98 eks ECU was just for engine management and for the CVT gearbox it had a separate controller. but 99 onwards both drive train and power train is controlled by a single OBD2 ECU.it was a rather complex ECU for that generation.
  6. in that case i wonder at what points the d15b comes in ek would switch to vtec. probably the EG ecu may also need to remap. but who would undertake all these risks apart from someone like you and me or else could use a OEM ecu like spoon or hondata.
  7. yeah, eg's S20 manual gearbox with a ek would be an ideal conversion than the ek's S40 manual tranny. but you need to get rid of the ecu wich controls the vtec dynamics and cvt gearbox and get hold on to a manual vtec ecu. how is that? and if you end up with no error codes after the conversion, you would be really lucky.
  8. few?? not a single conversion anymore..all the converted ones were done couple of years ago. no one would undertake a conversion project like this nowadays. this is not a simple plug and play conversion from auto to manual. you need the ECU, wireharness, shifter related parts and many more..may be the guys in KL malaysia could do a complete conversion since they still source half cut civics.
  9. so you buy the vehicle based on your stupid neighbours requiremnts? anyway, you can try a second hand Tata indica for that price or a brand new maruti. as far as the jap vehicles are concerned, you will end up having a 15year old car at that budget.
  10. now the replacement costs you 125k including labor. one of my frends at office replaced the gearbox in his car. he searched allover colombo and locate just a one gearbox in some place at dehiwala.
  11. MMT secondhand gearboxes are hard to come by nowadays even in japan junks. they are becoming increasingly scarce.so whoever who is willing to own a one please be mindful on this.

  13. guys, whether to convert from manual to auto or auto to manual, the parts are very hard to come by these days. specially the CVT boxes. i think the premature wear and tear of this particular M4VA CVT box caused a lot of replacements during the last decade and you would be really luck even if you could find a car still running with the first gearbox. Virs is a nice car. but i suggest you to stay away from mautimatic boxes simply becoz of the gearbox issue. and one more point to note, this gearbox wouldn't have been an issue at all if the owners treated them properly with proper oil and regular oil changes.

  15. what a mechanic he is you dont need to remove the dash board. its a simple diy job which takes less than one minute to remove the vent. but be careful not to damage the vent.

  19. im asking in general before i go for a P11. what i want to know is whether the common suspension parts are available with agents and outside ans if so, are they priced higher than suspension parts of a sunny or a civic.
  20. dear friends, does the agent carry the suspension components for primera p11? or else what are the other places i can find them?

  23. miniace, agree with you, but this dude will have a hell of a time finding a unmlosted eg. specially a vtec. and of course at his budget. may be a ae 100 if he can stretch his budget a bit
  24. note sure in colombo. in kandy a few places.
  25. i have heard the GA15 engine comes in this car is notorious for air flow issues.may be someone else can elaborate more.
