Hmmm.. weird. No one talking about the Premio CVT. Is it that good ??
-
Could someone please tell me how is this different to the CVT on Hondas. Because the Honda CVT doesn't have such a good reputation in SL. We got down a Premio 2009 so just want to know how the transmission should be maintained and if there are any issues noted.

I'd say not a bad idea really. Get a full set. Engine and gearbox. See if you can get a 3C Turbo under that hood!

I'm so embarrassed that I have to say this but actually, my friend was just S**** around with me when he said that! That idiot! He knew I'd feel jealous so he said it! ( Who wouldn't!) Sorry everyone! I've alreadt dealt him a punch on the tummy for his lie!

May be your friend didnt use 95 octane petrol. this problem occurs on GDI vehicles using the usual 90.

Well guys, it's like this. however much we spend for a vehicle, we expect fuel economy. It's a mental thing. 90% Sri Lankan's are guilty! We go for high spec cars when we got the cash and then expect at least 10kmpl. :-) But talking of Allions, for their size and class, fuel economy is good. Even the Allion 1.8 is good on fuel. I dont know why people dont buy it. I don't think it is liable for luxury.tax.

MasterDon, I haven't really heard of anyone's ECU going faulty because the battery was removed but neither have I heard of anyone removing and fixing the battery twice a day! :-) Theoretically, nothing should happen except that the ECU gets reset and has to reprogram itself but then, since this is not a normal situation, you'd better not risk it. better get another battery.

BRJW is on dutugemunu street right? Just past the climb, when driving from the pamankada end?

A cousin of mine found an unregistered 260 - year 2007 for 52. can bring it down to 50 I think. she already has a 240 - 2004 and she is trying to dispose of it now to upgrade.

I'd actually prefer a cop detector to a radar detector! Just so that I can know where they are!!
-
You bought it in SL or got it down? could you please let me know the model and the price. I desperately need one. Sick of these coppers!!
-
Yes, there is a different in suspension between the passenger and cargo models. passenger models come with softer suspension. coil springs etc are of different measurements.
-
yes, what I meant was KE30, KE72 etc..

Which One To Buy ? Suzuki Swift Or Honda Fit ?
topgear replied to kalana's topic in General Automotive
the swift is most certainly a lovely drive! itz got ease of driving and sporty pleasure combined! the 1.3 is ok. My cousin has a car and I feel it is slightly underpowered. but I checked with the car full, 3 passengers + driver. so I guess it's ok. my cuz said with a full car, he felt a lil lag in pulling when going to nuwara eliya. I guess that is reasonable. so I'd say the 1.3 is also a good choice but for some1 who was a lil more power at their tips, the 1.5 or 1.6 sport might be ideal! btw, the 1.6 sport looks gorgeous! -
I once owned a KE20 hi-deluxe. it was more putty than metal! :-) but it was a nice car. was pretty corroded too. had to change the suspension cross bar in front coz it broke on 1 side due to corrosion. they say it is common with this model. My car engine was under-compression too. but awesome pulling ah! nice car to drift! ;-) All in all, it'z a lovely car to have and use, as long as it is in good shape. you can modify it in various ways and most parts of the newer models after it are compatible with it. look for a car with a good engine, suspension etc. there are some out there. corrosion can be dealt with, if you got the money to spend. you cant expect a profit by making and sellin 1 tho... itz a passion! A friend of mine bought one a few weeks ago for 60k. itz a 2 door. nice car but a lotta tinkering to do. he normally does it himself so no probz for him. Also rem to look for 1 where the upholstery is pretty decent. you get cars well maintained. Once you do up a car well, it will certainly be a head turner. it's a hardy car. I'm also looking for 1 but lil stuck for cash now coz I'm repairing ma other vehicle., once that's done, I might go for 1. Panchikawatta has most mechanical stuff needed. I'm not sure where you can find lights, grill, bumpers etc. someone else might be able to help you on that. Keep this thred going and if anyone has a KE20, plz update us all on what to look for etc. *ps. you will be sure to find corrosion but try keep it minimal. my door boards were falling off when I had my car! so much corrosion.

As you just said, I kinda realized AL is not the place for this! :-) Wut you said is true. very few good performance cars come now. the few good1z that sometimes come dont even race. Its got sooo boring. The biker gang seems to be ruinin it all by not knowin how to behave. they arouse the cops with their wild antics! I havent been to GP in a month now coz it's plain boring. no good cars and no good races. Hope someone takes the initiative to revive it. I'm not commenting on this post again!

ya. the owner has a CR41. I've also seen a CRV and even a Hilux Surf with this paint job

I seem to be getting a beating all around! :-D I'm no attention seeker and the FB group was created by a friend just for the newbies at drags to meet up. Actually, not all those set-up races work. most don't show up. I have been to drags when it was at it's peak, but I was just a lil boy then! ;-) these days, it's got pretty boring. There is this bike gang that comes always and I think their ridin is very risky. I'd say most of the cars are driven very responsibly. I kno a lotta people loathe this as a public menace but then, this is the life some enjoy. it can be conducted in a safe way, if the right initiatives are taken. The road condition has deteriorated too. not very good. I just wanted it to be how it was before. Lets see how things work out. As one generation retires, a new generation must emerge! :-)

Hey everyone! Sorry to pull this up again! just wanted to update you guys. I didnt go for a mini coz u guys kinda freaked me out. But my cousin did. He now has a lovely black 1300cc Mini cooper tipronic. And now I'm kinda starting to loathe the thing coz did a lil driving and realized it's too small for me. Driving not too bad really. sitting on the passenger end is aweful! (I'm a bit on the taller side). So, no more mini for me! Also, with the drop in prices these days, I'd rather go for something newer. I kinda like the KE20 Corolla tho. Had one sometime back. lost about 40k on it. but no love lost. I might even go for one of em. We'll see how things go! Cherrz! Btw, There is a Mini ERA (1.3 turbo) for 1.5Mn. no books I hear. but it's an awesomely lovely lovely car!!
