  1. I actually got down a set from Mazda UK and they are not so easy or obvious to use. I couldn't get a professional result at all. But it would also depend on how good your skills and patience are .. I guess so YMMV. For 3-4 bucks, why not try and see
  2. For those who are not so much in to torrents and downloading, I found a shop near Romafour, Bamba where you could grab a TG season (at least from S7 onwards) + other extras like Clarkson Powered Up, for 100 bucks a disk, boxed. (of course the latest seasons are HDTV rips but CPU was a BluRay copy and that was marvelous to look at). P.S. Mods, if this looks like an ad (which it's not ) - do remove.
  3. Axio or Prius?? Damn, you'd think the rest of the world stopped producing cars!
  4. I wonder if the victim of the cattle incident (apparently a somebody with some clout in the pvt sector), would chose to sue the authorities managing E01, given that it's a paid transaction and the assumptions involved with it? Or is there a disclaimer built in to the gazette notification and/or the entry pass (did not see one ..). Just a random thought that entered my head when I was thinking what would motivate those same authorities to make it a safer place.
  5. Fabulous!!
  6. Around 4 - when formula fords were running. Near the WTC/Intercon turn - just learnt that one of the guys was a former classmate, ouch!
  7. The blue one wasn't run .. DM and the other Porsche driver took those to GT cars to the max (that was safely possible I guess). Heard DM say to a journo that given more run-off they could easily take them up more. Good to see 350Z taking up the middle of the field against the lotus's and (a rather cautiously driven lambo) Our local cars were also a treat to watch at times - some people really drove their socks off. As I expected, there were a huge amount of waiting, compounded by the bikes but the sounds were all damn music to petrolhead ears!! No kudos for some spectators who were ill disciplined, including the few who got hit by the formula ford. I was waiting for something of that sort to happen.
  8. You can't expect generic advise on buying cars without citing preferences for usage, fuel, personality, age etc .. for example, I would find CR-Z exiting on the above list with the rest being bloody boring (Civic Hybrid maybe just boring and Prius bloody, annoyingly boring)! If you can stomach the agents, car mart has a offer on brand new M3 these days, starting within your budget and Ford also has a few models, if you're looking for brand new.
  9. Thanks mate .. lot's of waiting built in to that itenary. Me being a very non-motorbike fan would find it kind of hard to stomach. But a free ticket is a free ticket!! And anyways I guess one could crash in at around 10.20 pm (when the roads are open) for the business end.
  10. Which page? Cannot locate the same on the e-paper. There are some vids already on you tube .. anyone saw the Porsche crash? http://www.youtube.com/user/Amant2o I got tickets for the Intercon stands and they do hv seats.
  11. Hope they will allow us to visit Hotels and Hospitals based on invitations and appointments!
  12. Posthumously awarded the 'non-Car of the year award'.
  13. I would - junk or relic or whatever ... But that's just me.
  14. The bj3p (or was it 5p?) in question is a famous one - touted by this seller under various different guises. IIRC he did the same with a Hyundai Coupe.
  15. For Nikon VR , it's the Active mode. However, having tried both IS 2 and VR Active for panning - must say IS 2 was the better by far. Still gonna stick to Nikon though, at least the lens was twice as cheap
  16. You'd need a tripod (and maybe a remote shutter release) if you're doing light trails (traffic/stars etc). Handheld panning works best for motorsports - hopefully the light would be enough at the night races to get some panned shots!
  17. Tickets on sale from today @ Galadari/Hilton/Etc - prices as noted before.
  18. Well the RDA chairman is quoted in today's papers that anyone enjoying the scenery and photographing would be persecuted. Also there was an advertisement to similar effect (how and when to use the emergency lane). The expressway is quite enjoyable - stress free driving. Hope the conditions remain the same (except for stray animals).
  19. The music show website lists the combination tickets. But for race, only those who want corp boxes are given a mail address to contact. As per that website, the tickets are priced at Rs50/- Rs100 /- Rs250/- Rs3,000/- (the combo ticket). As per ST, they are from 100/- to 4000/-. Darn, a website or at least a FB page for these kind of events are a must. Wonder why the organizers failed to get one going ...
  20. Is the speed limit strictly enforced now? Also what will happen to all these drivers who are actually going at 108 when their speedo reads 100 due to upsizing stock wheels?
  21. Gee .. so many canon users and hardly any nikonians Better stay out of this then
  22. Damn ... I'm yet to see one as well- not the convertible but a coupe (as advertised these days in India). Really love that car.
  23. Yeah this is where I wanna be too - but it will get crowded, probably more so than the other stands. Would really like to know how admission, crowd handling etc works ... any organizers here?
  24. Yeah .. so far our roads and junctions are not that complicated and once you travel on a route - you tend not to forget it. By roads are a different story - but maps are not yet that detailed anyways. What I will find the maps useful is for the POI's like fuel stations, banks, restaurants etc. but it will be a while till we hv a really comprehensive map.
  25. Nothing misleading about DM article - it says 2011 budget clearly and it's people who read it wrong that are mistaken!
