My first vote goes to Toyota Sucks! He thinks everyone else should follow his way of thinking. -
With bus drivers to drive limos, in near future we'll be able to see racing limos at breakneck speed in the streets of Colombo.

May be they have already stretched their budget to the max and buying NZT240 is the only affordable option. Though you failed to understand this reality, even the people with cotton picking minds do understand it.

Yeah, he called Sala and got the negative response. It is in Japanese, but he won't mind it as he can read Japanese.

This is a question from my friend. Hope someone can help him out. He has 2004 Allion and he wants to install SL GPS maps into his OEM navigation system (DVD). Does anyone out there knows a place specializing in installing SL gps maps ? or are there any DIY method to get it done.

I dunno about other countries, but I know in Japanese cities there are lesser traffic compared to Colombo even during rush hours. Japanese have more vehicles ( and have more population ) too, but majority of people are happy to keep their vehicle at home and travel by public transport. Reasons are. 1. Public transport are well developed and punctual. 2. Parking space is very expensive. 3. Companies demotivate employees from traveling in private vehicles, as premium for traveling insurance for employee cost too much if they are coming in their private vehicles. 4. People are not lazy there, so they normally walks up to 1.5km if necessary. Believe me, Streets in Tokyo are lot quieter and have lot less rush than those of Colombo.

Someone I know did the same. AFAIK, he has not faced any sort of trouble yet. Heard that person who bought the vehicle got registered w/o any trouble.

Vehicle Registration Fee For A New Car - First Registration
nissan_fan replied to roshi_123's question in General
Actually it cost me something like 16050 for registration ( including 7500 for forward numbers) and Rs. 2000 for revenue license. I was not required to produce green test ( I think it was due to some clerical miss ) so I don't know how much it would have cost. (But I think it was something around 2-3 thousand). So total adds up to something around 21000/- I think 27k figure OP is mentioning should include agents commission. You can save that by going to the RMV and doing registering your self, it will cost you a entire day though. details can be found in following link. http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/registration.php although not mentioned in the site, you need two pictures of the car from front and back with side visible. Also you have to submit the form to get special number ( if you are applying the same ) with the filled MTA-2. -
But I'm pretty sure, either of them won't give you the fuel consumption figures of 1000CC Belta.

Machang, could you please tell me what are you smoking? Should be a really good stuff !!!!
-
I only used it for 4 months and don't know much about maintenance. Only maintenance I have done so far is a service which should be done once in every 5000km. In Japanese Domestic Market, Tiida means a hatchback and Tiida Latio means a sedan.
-
But some people find it beautiful. But its a very good car with good pickup, more headroom and legroom, ample boot space, reasonably good fuel economy. Also interior is quite good in Tiida. Considering the inflated prices of 1.3L belta, Tiida is a good buy.

I do have a one. 2008 CVT model. It does 10 in City. and 14.5 in outstation.

Thanks for the valuable replies mates. After reading all the replies, I most probably follow Watchman's suggestion. Thanks again.

However none of them park cars their, and all that happened friend of their freind. Is there anyone who park in that car park here? Would be very grateful if someone can provide info about the security of the car park.

Why these all bold and big letters. Seems little baby needs attention !!!

Go for Tiida, CVT model (One with teak interior). Good Pickup. Good fuel efficiency. ( City 10, Outstation 14.5 ) Very comfortable with ample legroom and headroom. However not many people like its appearance. Dunno about the second hand value.

Mobitel HSDPA sucks at Kotte area ! Connection is damn slow and gets disconnected once in 3 mins. Anyone with similar experience. Complained twice, but I only get but what I got was two lectures on how to setup your HSDPA modem by two know-it-all female customer care officers and then nice talk from another agent who showed sympathy on my issue to be followed by a lecture by Telecom Engineer on why such slow speed is not possible in Kotte area.

Found this while browsing the net --------------------------------- http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2010/10/nissan-recalls-214-cars-and-trucks-worldwide/1 Nissan is recalling 2.14 million vehicles sold in North America, Europe and Japan for an ignition problem that can cause the engine to take longer to start and possibly stall and not restart. It's the third-largest recall ever for Nissan. There are no reported crashes or deaths from the problem, which is a result of oxidation on the contacts of ignition relay in vehicles built from August 2003 through July 2006, according to a statement from Nissan.
