And also you buy a supercar to drive, hopefully very day... most Ferrari's Lambos, Astons have a reputation to never complete a journey cos on the way to a party there is greater chance that the car will break down!! Ferrari's gets too much unnecessary attention...

Porsche any day... specially in Sri Lanka! cos like Aravinda you don't want to be send your car to Singapore for a service.... Porsche is as fast or faster, more reliable, bit cheaper, better built, and the pioneer in supercars... Ferrari are for show offs!!!

But it seems to be some task to get it done, what I don't get is that, as an premium brand, certain options should have been there, like Bluetooth, rain and light sensors, bumper sensors, and of course alloys... People, specially in Sri lanka, go that extra distance in buying an European is for that fact that they used to offer these features as standard like it had with the E46. It seems to be that both the E90 and A4 will be having new versions coming beginning of next year... The VW Passat is fully loaded as well, very good car, but it's at a different class when compared to Audi and BMW.

true but if you had a permit in your hands would you risk not buying one? I can't trust this govt as they seem to change things over night and I deff don't want to be buying a Micro Kyron with my permit... I'm even scared to wait for another week till Audi A4 diesel becomes available...

nearly all all agents except for Hyundai and Audi say that the permit is going to be cancelled soon. is that true in any way or is it just a rumour that is spread to reduce the price of the permits?

BMW probably got the best engines in the world, they are economical and powerful, and that combination has newer been beaten by any other manufacturer. Out of all the luxury vehicles I would say BMWs are the most reliable and most their vehicles comes with only the most valuable gizmos that actually work unlike the french who just comes out with these ridiculers options but fall apart after the 1st yr. Audi A4 has definitely got the looks, space and better options but reliability is questionable in Sri Lanka, and they have bad resale value here. The BMW 320d that were imported in late 90s and early 2000s had all the options that a top end luxury car should have, but the current model has notting more than what a maruti would offer. therefore if they do retain its value is a questionable!!! I have stayed over a week trying to figure out what to buy it a tough job...

apparently there are players that do provide all these info, but it will be a optional accessory, I'v seen Caska Europe catalogs that state this, but haven't seen or used this option my self. And the players aren't rs. 180,000 its more like 40,000 - 100,000, but try and get Taiwanese products the are the best at these tech stuff and maintain a similar product quality to japanese.

Yeah I have got a docs permit, spoke with Sen*k and they said that at the moment they only offer the patrol A4, but the diesel may be available in a couple of weeks.. the patrol has got all the options except for the sunroof, as for the diesels they say that its not going to to be fully loaded.. haven't spoken with VW, even though they are a very good brand don't like it so much, and wouldn't go for a Volvo or Peugeot either. XF is in a completely different class ($50,000). so its between X1, 320d, and A4

Im going to replace my Santa Fe 2008 model, cos my family seems still afraid of Korean cars, and their is no way to change their pospective which I can't blame them as our Santa Fe have seem to be given trouble which the agents did agree on and they are doing to repair for free even though its way outside the warranty period... Congrats on your order, even I would have gone for the Sorento as this is by far the best vehicle for the permit, but this time around we need a European car... I asked Dim* and they say that they don't have anything to offer, but as you say will try Sen*k..

Im definate that KL*eenP*rk are doing it, but they are very exoensive... call them and they will tell you the price.. As othose say its much cheaper to get a paint job done... unless your car is 20 million plus!

I will have to use to for 3 yrs before selling it.. my cousin have the same surname as me, so its not a problem for me to use... he and his wife are both getting a permit each and they already ordered a Sorento, so will not be using the other one... but the prob with the 320d is that they have very basic options.. but their engines are so bloody good...

and yeah it is 19 million after the duty increase. before it was 16 mil... but its a very basic car that you get for that price, need to spec it up, and the options aren't cheap so expect to pay around 3 million or more for that..

Hy Big_D do you want to see the quotation that I got yesterday? there were many other Santa Fe's that needed an engine over hauls, but Hyundai didn't have the parts to repair them and it took them more than 4 months to get parts down to Sri Lanka, and the parts just arrived last Friday. if you want you can go check all of them at Hyundai Lanka garage.. By this I don't mean all of them got problems but few had... I have been in the new cayenne turbo, and its one hell of a beast.. and statistically its the fasted SUV in the market... I'm only taking stats provided by the manufacturer here, not some website review...
