  1. This is an inconclusive report. Get a better scanning software like OBD doctor or torque which will give you the exact error code.
  2. Well the biggest concern buying a hybrid should be the battery health and cost to replace it. Get the battery health checked and see how much it would cost you to replace the required cells over your usage period. Check how much you save monthly on fuel vs a conventional car and see if that saving is more than the cost to replace better cells at the end of your ownership. If you are not doing high miles in most cases it won't make much financial sense. Also there are loads of abused Uber and PickMe priuses, so be mindfully of how the car was used previously.
  3. Sunlanka will fit central locks if you buy the alarm system for them. But try Rexton motors in Darley road also (near fire brigade)
  4. Wrap insulation tape around the door stickers. It will muffle the sound. Won't last too long though.
  5. Lalith mazna motors - 071 424-2464
  6. I think the higher thickness of the transmission fix helps with the slipping. But only time will tell if it's a permanent fix.
  7. The screenshot you have put is a double din player. Din size refers to the height of the unit.
  8. I thought i shouldn't bother replying to this since you clearly have no idea what you are talking about, but then i didnt want anyone else reading this thread to get the wrong idea. No Kenwood, Pioneer and other major manufacturers dont have players with android OS ! They use Android auto and it cannot work as a standalone os like the ones found in Chinese android head units. The main difference is that you cant use android apps without actually connecting your phone in android auto. https://www.androidcentral.com/android-auto-basics On Chinese headunits you can And android auto does not support "VLC" like you have said, these are the apps supported for now; https://play.google.com/store/apps/collection/promotion_3001303_android_auto_all
  9. What? What player you use is irrelevant, the digital to analog processors (DAC) on these can't even come close to the ones in good brands like kenwood or pioneer. That's why these are so cheap, audio quality is crap

    Mazda Axela

Nope the BL series JDM cars (axela) came with CVT afaik.
  11. Yes i used x 1r and it actually worked for about 2 weeks. However it was not a permanent fix and i had to go for a gearbox repair. Mine also started slipping even when cold. I guess the average lifetime of the gearbox is around 150k Worth a shot though, only 2k or so. Mostly battery related stuff like jumper cables, battery water etc. Lucas agents is Browns btw (subsidiary called klevenberg)
  12. You can x 1 r transmission treatment from online retailers

When you accelerate on full throttle does the rpm go up and down or does it keep the revs at a higher rpm like 5000? Have a look at this and check
  14. Yes very helpful, I'm sure he is still looking for body parts after 7 years of posting this.

  16. Are you sure there is no other place to do a proper scan and get a report?
  17. Like Davy pointed out the error codes come in a standard format, Pxxxx (x for numbers) for ecu related codes and Cxxxx for chasis and abs codes. If the abs control unit failed then at best it would says "error reading abs dtc" or something simmilar. Seems this guy is just bullsh**ing. Most greese monkey type Sri lankan mechanics have a very hard time actually diagnosing error codes, what they do is change all the sensors until something works. Are you in a position to take the vehicle to some bigger town and get it scanned? Maybe places like kurunegala or kandy will have better qualified people.
  18. Isn't the nomad based on the cami platform? I was under the impression that the model was built under license or is it just a close copy?
  19. When was the last time you changed Atf? A weak or malfunctioning tps could cause the symptoms you are describing. I think the first thing you should do is to get the car scanned without wondering in the dark. Specifically look for throttle position voltage at idle and throttle position % for the readings.

    NV350

According to Wikipedia the yd engine has chains. Do you have a service or owners manual for the van? It will definitely state the time to replace belts if it has timing belts.
  21. Actually the Atf cooling tank inside the radiator had busted. I guess due to the pressure the hose blew. Well I wasn't there on the journey but I was told that they had to replace the head gasket in bandarawela and had to stay an additional day cause everything couldn't be done on time So after the radiator cap theory I started meddling around. I filled the reserve tank to the top and revved the engine so that the heat would rise. The observation is that the reserve tank is overflowing properly so that means the cap is working fine right?
  22. The size of the screen doesnt matter. There are only 2 sizes used universally, 200mm and 180mm. 200mm is used only by Toyota and the rest use 180mm. All you need is to check if the width is 200mm or 180mm. And on the note of android units most of them will have absolute rubbish audio quality
  23. I didn't check the cap recently but it was compressing fine. The car doesn't run hot, always midway mark unless it blows a hose. Also I checked on the cap and I got to know that the entire radiator was replaced with a recon unit around 1.5 years ago. The car still has the cap that was on the recon unit. Also I got to know the cause for the 2nd hose failure was a blown Atf cooler tank inside the radiator which probably released Atf into the cooling lines. The Atf cooler tank was replaced and the entire rediator has been cleaned while it was dismantled. Sorry if the story is comming in bits and pieces, since it's my father in laws car I don't know the exact history. Do you know if there any machinery like compression testers to test for any blocks in the system?
  24. I have to check that , thanks. Also I noticed that even the newly replaced hoses are inflated (greasemonkey term - hose thambenawa)
