yes if you drive below 30 KMH..the main engine turn off automatically and it run from the hybrid system..if the battery is good enough,even A/C is possible..

Mate..you are right..air bags will still work even if the passengers not wearing seat belts..it's more dangerous the activation of airbags when the passengers are not wearing seat belt..coz in case of a front impact..there is a definite chance of breaking the neck of the passenger as the airbag pressure and the passengers movement towards the airbags collied each other...

I think the law is there..but not implementing well..I used to wear the seat belt when travelling long distance..but now i wear even to shorter distance after i saw this video..

If the battery is charged it can be driven even with A/C with EV mode..there won't be any sound when drive from that mode..but since it's using more power for A/C the distance you can drive from the battery is less..If the battery is in good condition you can On A/C of Prius even without starting the engine..Just need to power on only hybrid system..But 2011 Prius comes with Solar roof which enable the battery to charge even without engine on..and car functions can be operated within 1 km distance with smart key...

Mate..Geely is a chines brand..but this car which is in Sri Lanka assembled by Micro in Sri Lanka using Volvo Technology (As stated in their web site)..like stiggy pointed out..If it's having five stars crash ratings..it might be one of the most safest hatch backs around..

Forget about it man..I had the same idea when i drove a Cadillac CTS..but It's not feasible at all to import one here..It's like importing a car with headaches..anyway i'm a fan of Cadillacs..though not even thinking of bringing a one here.

If it's that price it's worth..I have also seen few of them...I think their Geely sedan price also ranging 1.9 million..It's a good looking car too...If anybody who's using that car in this forum..will be able to help you...

Machan I feel that this article and survey also..made by some companies who's not yet producing hybrids and rapidly loosing their market due to hybrids..I was also having some questions even more questions than this and justifications on this factor..but machan this is not a survey done by our MD..it's just he bought this to the forum to make this topic more interested.. ..like you said machan i have to get in to a conclusion that most of the doctors of SL are also gay..coz I met a lot of doctors who had already ordered Prius..Instead of their 141 S...anyway machan ...It's up to the personal preference..for example..If a gay rides a racing bike that means racing bikes are gay??..If gay eats a certain kind of food, do we have to avoid eating it coz..it's gay food.. MD..this is what i feel on this matter...I'm a Prius owner too..though it's registered to my wife as she's using it more frequently and i'm out of SL most of the time..before buying a hybrid i found this article too and few friends advised me not to go for that even.My wife was very impressed with the size and the options of the car and mainly the fuel economy,as she drives nearly 90 km a day to reach to her work and for my son's school..So now we have found a definite solution for that...I think it's the unusual curve which makes hybrids looks odd...I think it's not a fare enough survey to say that generally hybrids are bought by gays..coz ,iF you consider the Honda Civic hybrid, It looks same as normal civic...so if you consider this gay factor ,then can we say that Honda Civic is a gay car too...lol BTW..i don't care about those stories..If it's economical for my pocket..whats the problem neda machan...??? ??

I think it's better for you to consider some other car than starlet...it's bit too old coz..it's not manufacturing from 1999..so then latest car you would get will be 12 years old..why don't you try to get 2002 Suzuki Swift auto..I think it does well no fuel... average 12 to 14...and looking good than starlet.and well within your budget..

Well said stiggy..there is no other reason to get in love with hybrids...hybrids looks nicer than the value paid..due to tax reduction and it does better on fuel...thats all...if anybody who drives for pleasure..hybrids are not for them for sure...

exactly mate...I think hybrids won't be popular in middle east countries as they have ample fuel for a damn cheap price..it's just nothing compared to Sri Lanka...I was at Doha.there i filled from 40 QAR for a full tank in a sedan and can keep on going more than 500kms...in that case hybrids are useless..but for Sri Lanka??????
