Xiaomi slowly becoming a market leader in Asia..It has already become No 01 selling smart phone in China surpassing global giant Samsung. One of my friend's recently bought Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime the latest phone launched this month. But surprisingly the android version was Kit Kat..but in fact up gradable to the latest Mash Mellow version. waiting to see his experience on this.

Wow.An old post suddenly appeared and seems to be a good hit. I think it's useless to react according to the stupid market trends.instead better buy a car which pleases you. I don't know why people worrying about these badges, teak panels etc.better pay your attention more for the condition of the engine than considering those minor things, which can be fixed later for few bucks.

My uncle bought down one few months back. I used it once to wash my car as well. Like you said seems solid..and 6 months warranty period is over now..he wash his Nissan Navara cab twice a week and no problems until now..Considering it's price around 13K, it's worth I presume. .

Engine Stops When I Turn The Ac On
AbeysinghE replied to autocruise's question in Mechanical problems
First have a check on idle control solenoid. If it's ok, as Rumesh88 and Magnum said ,most probably your A/C compressor stuck / seized. BTW what's your car model? -
I think you may change the oil even though you haven't run 5000 kms as it has been six months since you last oil change. Do you think you have made a wise decision to buy a hybrid when you can't even run 5000 kms in 6 months? Hope you understood what i meant.

It's not isolated case. Not only Aqua..Prius 2nd generation was giving the same problem for me..But I think that's subjective. I felt that way but my friends didn't.

Why not machan..they are professional in their profession..I know why you raised that question..Coz in Sri Lanka it's always considered that people who have bachelor degree, MBA, MBBS, CIMA, ACCA, CIM, Civil engineering are professionals. And most importantly keep in mind that name of this thread is Budget- Impact on vehicle prices
-
@Kchemist: Liked your point about the professionals working abroad and sending considerable amount of foreign exchange to the country and yet completely ignored by all the governments.

Don't expect driving pleasure, handling, comfort and second hand value etc from those basic hatchback hybrids.. It saves your fuel and equally good for extreme traffic conditions and it takes you where you want to go. That's it. Most of the hybrid vehicles not designed to be comfortable.

Insurance Claim For A Condemned Vehicle With Open Papers
AbeysinghE replied to maskventura's topic in Ask for Advice
If it's a double transfer or whatever, most probably they are going to raise the question as to why you haven't transferred it when you bought it and running with open papers..Seriously I don't think anybody should use a vehicle with open papers even though have plans to sell it off.- 10 replies

Your question mark shows that you are uncertain whether your GP5 is 1500 Cc or not..I'm I right?

I would suggest Nissan Bluebird Sylphy over N16. Carina also a good option, but you will have to get relatively old one for your budget compared to other options in your list. I have no idea about Accord.

The biggest issue in Sri Lanka is the governments (All governments past and present) were unable to come up with a long term plans for sustainable economic growth. As a result of that salary paid is not enough meet the cost of living. But still Sri Lankans expectations are so high that most of the higher middle class people suffering from low savings or no savings. As a simple alternative most of the professionals who had free education ,moves to foreign countries to work, so that the cost of living in Sri Lanka relatively low compared to other developed countries where as salary is pretty much higher than Sri Lanka. That will create the situation where they could live comfortably in Sri Lanka. I'm not blaming here or commenting whether it was a good thing to cancel the vehicle permits given to the government officers...but there a lot of private sector professionals who have been contributing to the economy far better than the government servants. There are a huge number of people who work in abroad and contribute to the economy by sending foreign currencies. So it's fare that If government could set the standards of qualifications or the assessment method to asses their active participation to the economy and provide them duty free permits as a token of appreciation.

If a Japanese car kissed a back of a Euro car the final outcome would be nicely designed face lifted Japanese car...

It seems nobody can get the advantage of less FOB value as the budget proposals will increase the price again by the same margin. So the present prices likely to be remained unchanged or slightly up.

it seems like customs done their home work right...They know what is demanded in the market and adjusting values accordingly...LOL

Best Toyota Car To Buy Around 3 Million
AbeysinghE replied to aruntantan's topic in General Automotive
It's hard to explain why Sri Lankans are in so much of love with Toyota..Even I don't know why I'm using Toyotas. When majority using Toyotas..it's quite obvious that you will see more Toyota threads than other brands.. -
He's referring the emissions

I was working in a Logistic company in Malaysia providing transportation services to Toyota Malaysia, In fact they imported some parts from Japan, some from Thailand and some from Singapore as well..I know this well as we were involving in clearing those from the port. Seats for Vios, Camry and Avenza were outsourced to a company called TS Lear Automotive in Malaysia. So the origin of the parts of the car from all over, but assembled in Malaysia..Finally it's shipped from Japan. So technically speaking If you don't buy a JDM version of a Toyota, why worrying of the country of origin? coz it can be anywhere..

Fortunately Kurunegala Pola has three days in a week...

What did you expect your Aqua fuel figures to be? More than 20 kmpl in the city?? This is the more realistic fuel figure in the city I think. My wife use the same model Aqua 2012 G grade and using around Kurunegala city (Comparably much lesser traffic condition than Colombo) still gets 11-13 kmpl. But in outstation it does around 28-30 kmpl sometimes If the contribution from the EV mode is higher. I think nothing wrong with your car. I always think that my Allion 260 does better on fuel considering overall average.

Best Car For 1.2 Million (Auto With 1.3 Below Engine)
AbeysinghE replied to Iroshw's question in Car Buying Information
Maintenance is reasonable and ground clearance is better than Viva Elite as I know. Though it's a 1000cc car, you won't feel under powered as weight to power ratio is perfectly matched. -
Best Car For 1.2 Million (Auto With 1.3 Below Engine)
AbeysinghE replied to Iroshw's question in Car Buying Information
Go for Kelisa it's decent car. Economical and value for money. -
Mate, I really don't think it's a good idea for you to change your car at this moment, where the second hand market ridiculously gone up. I saw in few classified sites FB 15 EX Saloons new shell older than your model quoted at the rate of 2.3 million. Once you sold out your car at that rate, I don't think you are left with so many choices. Finally you will be end up owning an old crap for the same price.
