  1. @ The Don, I think it was some kind of paint work as they had done some parts like the frame of the ac air vents!!! I am too not of a big fan of these kind of work but I am just telling what I have seen!
  2. @ ferrarif50, Yeah...more less similar
  3. @Kavvz; Nope dude, I just said that I am not promoting.... But you can see those real wood panels in luxury cars like Bentley,Rolls-Royce, Cadillac, or may even in some versions of Benz, BMW. They are made with oak/pine woods (some times; tree roots!) and all most all are hand-crafted and therefore each panels are different in texture/colour!!! There were video demonstration telecasted in National Geographic regarding "Ultimate factory-Bentley", in that video they show how those wooden panels are made!
  4. @ Kavvz , friend I am not trying to promote any product; I just wanna shared what I have seen. Definitely those panels are not like the one fixed to three wheelers but it looks more or less similar to factory fitted panels. I have no idea about the durability. Those panels aint real teak but vinyl painted.
  5. I ll try to find contact details if possible but there was a paper advertisement in "Silumina" two or three weeks ago.
  6. Found this and seems interesting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Corolla)
  7. @ kush, Thanks for the in put. Two months ago I saw 141D with 3C engine, but it was permit car. I saw the badge over the engine! Now im little bit confused. I recently gotta know that the CE 113 which has 3C engine similar to CR42.But I havent seen single 113 in Sri Lanka yet
  8. @ kush, 141D comes with 3c engine. As u said it aint that much slower in acceleration friend. Just drive and comment!
  9. I found this video while browsing the web. Just see it. ( )
  10. @ chithraka8, Two thumbs up. I own/ed CE110/100/121D. Those car are still runing good (110/121, I ve sold ce100)
  11. U may also try AE110 "face lifted" which is far more reliable and having very good second hand value than platz
  12. Is JDM 141 (Axio?) avilable in diesel?
  13. @Magnum, Nope dude..they can be converted in Sri Lanka but I agree that those panels could also be imported! Let us wait till some experts will guide us; my friend!
  14. It should be better if you can put it to N (or P, if appropriate) if you gonna keep it for sometimes (5 min?) as it will reduce lot of mechanical stress for auto box. Another thing to remember is that you should not keep the vehicle in P position in a uphill or downhill without applying "handbrake" as that cause undue stress on the parking pin and could eventually lead in to early malfunctions! It need not to say that the hand brake should also be well adjusted!!
  15. @Magnum, But I have seen ppl removing dashboard panels and get them converted to "teak" in Sri Lanka. The job was perfect! Actually I have seen a paper advertisement regarding those teak panels but unfortunately I was not able to take down the contact numbers. If someone know about those things plz let us too know
  16. If you find places where they do "teak" panels, Please let us know
  17. Dear friend, finding teak dashboard would be quite difficult for this model but I have seen few Toyota KDH 200 converted to "teak" in Sri Lanka. What they does is they just remove the parts and apply some kinda paint, Ex: AC lovers/ Dashboard Din, etc. The job was perfect and none could identify by its appearance! I think most Japanese vehicles do not have real teak/oak panels as the Euro vehicles; I think it is just some kind of paint/vinyl job (correct me if I am wrong) Unfortunately I dont any contact numbers but our forum ppl definitely will help u
  18. Yeah. I agree. Just see this (http://www.treasury.gov.lk/EPPRM/ttip/vehicalpermit.htm). Best person to answer your question is those crappy agents!!
  19. GMB is around Rs5500/= but there is fake GMB too avilable. Another brand called MP4 or MPV (something I can not remember) is avilable. So what would be the best one other than original one from Toyota Lanka (Which I am not gonna buy)
  20. one possibilities is that those vehicles might not fit in to the engine capacity limitations of the permit. Tt would be very nice If you came up with more details (Ex-The manufacturer, The model, The agent, etc
  21. go for Viva Elite
  22. ok..finally. A guy at a auto spare shop told me that original GMB one would cost around Rs 5550/=. He added that there is fake ("local"/Chinese??) GMB is available too and that also is being sold around more or less the same price tag (they can make a big profit). And there is a brand called MP4/or MPV im not sure of the exact name!
  23. @ riddle, But this is definitely not from any tubes, as u may see in the photos it is leaking from the side engine cover closer to one of the mail pully. Today morning I noticed quite big leak because car was not used more than 24hrs (Since Friday evening)!!! One thing is to clarify is that the car YOM is 1997 Oct and odo is 165,000km (it is compatible with all the maintain records) and Y it is leaking so quickly!! I also having CR27 (Lotto) YOM 235,000km yet not any signs of any fluid leakng! My mechanic also told me that it is quite unusual to have a leaking water pump in a 1997/98 car!!
  24. @jdnet> Nope I just call my mechanic and he told me that the fuel pump too attached to the water pump!
  25. 2C engine also same; the fuel pump attached to the water pump
