  1. I have owned a TIIda Latio in the past. Had to spend quite a lot on the suspension parts. The lower arms, steering york, shocks, cross member etc... The engine itself is mostly trouble free and does good on fuel as well. The interior is one of the best I have owned. Good soundproof, nice and cosy and roomy interior. I can't comment on the Belta since I haven't owned or driven one but my heart say's go for the Belta.
  2. Actually we didn't consider Quartz but we did compare granite and another product like neustone but can't really remember the name. I think Centerpoint was marketing this other product. Finally we decided to go with Neustone due to it's durability compared to granite. If you look at the picture you can see the groove that I was talking about. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/TAcprHN_Zrt8Xxk5yn4_gIfaf_5svyQlcHpLgeQjfw=w276-h207-p-no Btw that s a nice kitchen you got there. Is the high gloss material from the place at pannipitiya?
  3. Well there aren't any noticeable scratches or stains so far but it also depends on how you takes care of it. Occasionally we keep some hot pots just out from the hob on it but it can withstand some amount of abuse. For cleaning we use an ordinary tile cleaner. The only disadvantage is that the groove between the joint is visible as for a " L " shaped pantry you need at least two sheets.
  4. Sorry for the late reply. We have been using Neustone kitchen top for the last 3 years and so far no issues. easy to maintain and less cost than granite. I think one sheet 8X2.5 feet costs around 25000/-. This material is being imported from Australia as far as I know and only Elcardo is the authorized dealer.
  5. Speaking of common courtesies how many of us think of others when it comes to parking. I have seen many occasions where one vehicle is parked occupying two parking slots. And it's quite annoying when you are driving round and round for hours just to find a parking slot and see's this kind of situation. Also motorcyclists please try to keep a decent gap when you park alongside with other vehicles or when parallel parking so that other vehicle users are not inconvenienced.
  6. Hi all, Does anyone know if insurance can be claimed for windscreen stress cracks. I have insurance cover from Uni*n Assu**ance but it does not specifically mention about the windscreen cover. I discovered yesterday the windscreen in my korando has a long horizontal crack near to the bottom perimeter which runs all the way from one end to the other end. I don't think it can be repaired and I can't claim warranty either since glass is not covered by warranty. I need your guys opinion before I proceed to the next step. Cheers!
  7. Anyone knows what happened to JDnet?
  8. I just found out this from a Fiat forum. "Linea and Punto with auto climate control are fitted with " Variable Displacement Compressors". Its different from manual ac which has " Fixed Displacement Clutch type compressor". In clutch type compressor when you switch on the AC the clutch engages and the pistons reciprocate. While idling the efficiency reduces and in high rpms it increases. When you switch off the Ac button the clutch disengages and compressor no more pumps. In variable type the computer judges the requirement in the cabin based on various sensors. Accordingly it adjusts the control valve in the compressor which is connected with a rod to a cantilever type plate also called wobble plate. The plate alters the stroke of the piston. So when you require very cold air the piston stroke is increased and it pumps more. The benefit of the Variable compressor is that it puts less load on the engine. Also its efficiency is more and so mileage also improves. Its silent and jerk free too." Anyway there is something definitely wrong with my AC. The repairs that I mentioned was done at ITMC. When I took my car to them I asked one of the guys who does the electrical repairs if he knows about the car and his reply was that since there are lot of Puntos coming in he can't exactly remember this particular car. Remember ITMC is not a large workshop. Anyway This is why I don't trust the so called local specialists. The exemption is A*W. They don't do modifications. Just replace the complete part if it's faulty and it works as new. It costs you more but at the end of the day you are happy that everything works as brand new.
  9. Since you mentioned about the AC compressor I have a feeling that it is permanently engaged or( not cutting off ). because when I set the climate control to any position there isn't any noticable difference in temperature. Sometimes have to reduce the blower when it's too cold. Also I can't here the clicking sound when it is cutting in and out. The previous owner has spent nearly 120k within a year for the AC repairs alone according to maintenance records. He has changed the condenser, evaporator , expansion valve, suction control valve and also the controller has been dismantled during the repair. Don't know what exactly they have done but may be they have messed up the controls/wiring etc..? @ajnluv, I contacted your guy but looks like he's busy. I will take the car to Euro motors directly.
  10. Did full tank to full tank method once and also checked twice the normal way.( Until fuel warning light appear). I can't compare it with the trip computer as still the odometer is flashing and I'm unable to get trip B data on the MFD. I'm getting 10km/l from the Panda and 7 km/l from the Korando with the same conditions. I don't drive very short distances. At least 7km one way and about 20km a day.
  11. So today got the emission test done for my Punto and according to that the engine is in perfect tune. It shows fuel wastage at idle 0.72 Rs/ltr and at 2500 rpm 0.87 Rs/ltr.Also HC 73ppm and CO 0.079% at 2500rpm. But I'm getting fuel economy of only 8km/l. I know for a non hybrid car 8km/l in city traffic is perfectly ok but I read some members here claiming far better economy from the Punto. Can it be something else like the transmission system or it's just that the emission report is wrong?Or am I overlooking something here...
  12. Thanks ajnluv69, harry, and vvti for your valuable comments. I still have few more issues to be sorted out like the rear door locks which are difficult to open from outside, and fuel consumption issue which is hovering around 8 km/l at the moment. I got the door locks tempororily fixed from a guy at Nugegoda today and he says due to wear the complete unit must be replaced. I will try to get them through ebay together with the stereo system front panel where all the button's markings are erased probably due to climate and poor material. I saw the same issue in another Punto recently. Also one of the rear speakers is broken and will try to get it fixed locally. It's a bit of a dissapointment that the bluetooth is not working as this function is important for me. Don't know if Indika can upgrade the software. But apart from all this I'm enjoying my ride. It's a nice comfy ride and the light steering makes it ideal for city driving. I'm planning to take the car to Indika for a full check up next week, and thanks guys once again for the help.
  13. Hi all, Bringing back this old thread to get some advise on my 2007 Punto. The odometer reading on the MFD keeps on flashing since I bought the vehicle few days ago. Also the "Blue &me" bluetooth function is not working. I searched a few Fiat forums elsewhere and according to them it needs a software update. Will Indika be able to do this or is there any other Fiat dealer in SL?. Been once to Indika's workshop and I'm not 100% satisfied with the way they fixed a door lock problem. Also one time the gears refused to change when I tried to start in the morning and after disconnecting/reconnecting battery terminal it was sorted out. Should I be concerned? Experts please advice. Cheers!
  14. Congratulations Sampath!!
  15. Didn't know that some models are without this option. Anyway I think any reputed shop like Pet#o, Advance,or Sunlanka can do a decent upgrade to your stereo system.
  16. You don't have to remove anything. Did you open the link that I provided?. The center console box is the one which is located between the two front seats, used also as a armrest. Just pull open it and you will find the 12v aux.power socket and the auxiliary audio input socket inside.
  17. You never got what I meant don't ya? Are you high?
  18. I would'nt do that with my car. Unless the garage is next door. It seems that you have a problem leting go of the past. Just let it go machang. Live and let live!
  19. As a user of a prius 2nd gen car for the last three years I would say go for the Aqua. You will not regret it. It's a very reliable car. The only time it let me down was when the inverter coolant pump failed. But thats the 2nd gen Prius. Toyota Hybrids has evolved much since then. If your sole intention is fuel saving then going for a lease is not advisable. Also as someone suggested you can go for a older diesel jap like the ce110. But remember you are buying a 12-14 year old car and no matter how cheap the spare parts are, from time to time you will have to waste a considerable amount of time in the garage. Also finding a properly maintained car of that age is not that easy. When I bought my Prius 3 years ago I bought it not only because it's fuel efficient but also of it's reliability. I am away from the country most of the time and I have peace of mind knowing that my wife will not be spending time in garages or spare parts shops or get stranded in the middle of the road. So don't think too much about the rumours and just go for it. Good luck.
  20. For hybrid vehicles, Hybrid motors 011 2696246 24 hrs towing hotline 0773 233332 These numbers are usefull especially for the Prius drivers as the front wheels will remain locked unless the power supply is restored. This happened to my wife once when the ICP packed up.The car carrier was useless at this time and she called the above hotline. After that two technicians came, replaced a blown fuse and drove the car to their garage for the repair.
  21. Last week I was looking for one too. There's one at Kelaniya. Although mechanically it looks ok the interior was not in very good condition. But definitely worth checking out.And there's a diesel GP. The owner is asking 2.2m for it. Also worth paying a visit. And finally after all this had to settle with a Panda. Hmm... still in doubt if I made the right choice.
  22. Did you check for the aux.port located inside the center console box?. https://db.tt/xckarhHd
  23. Thanks for the keen response. Today I checked my vehicle like you told and apparently there is a dp transmitter at the same location you described. See the photo. I tried to trace the lines but they disappear somewhere behind the turbocharger. Also I noticed heavy white smoke for about 10 minutes on two occations while travelling more than 50km/h. Even the manual describes about the DPF and how the regeneration takes place. Then why the sales guy said that it is not there. He should know the vehicle inside out right? May be the manual is common for all models. Any way I will call him again today. https://db.tt/Q5bEIToc
  24. Does your Korando has a DPF? I'm 90% sure that my vehicle has it but when I asked from the sales guy at Ideal when taking the delivery he said it's only for euro models. Also did you recieve conditions of warranty from the agents? The guy promised to email me the conditions of warranty but even after several reminders still no any action. Did you face any problems with the vehicle so far and any thing else that I should know about?
