If you know someone in the cop shed try talking to him and change that to a spot fine.I know one friend who did that. Recently I was charged for driving with the mobile phone in hand and was given a court date.On the day of the courts I forgot to report to the cop shed before appearing in the courts. I had to sit in that hell hole from 9.00am to 4.30pm and my case was not called. later when I checked with their records I found that my case was not filed. So I came back to the cop shed(Kottawa)and explained it to the cop at the desk. I said I can't waste another day in courts so if possible to issue a spot fine instead. The cop was very polite and gave me a spot fine for Rs 500. So finally it was the hassle sitting in the court whole day which was the hardest part.
I have already counteracted those myths many times. If you STILL haven't managed to read them, well, it certainly casts your comprehension skills in doubt. Which doesn't really reflect well on you.

p.s Sorry for copy pasting some of your words.
Just happen to notice that all the cars in this list except for the Serena are compact or smaller sized cars. I guess it's something to do with the tax concessions that the Japanese government is offering. Even in real life I'v hardly seen any SUV's or larger cars on Japanese roads.
I don't think that anyone has yet bought the Aqua, although have seen a couple of Prius V's in Colombo. Toyota has recieved orders for more than 10 times the actual production output so there is a long backlog for orders in Japan. Since it's launch in Dec 26th upto Jan 31st they have recieved 120,000 orders. So it will take few more months until we see them here.
Toyota claims it's fuel efficiency is 35km/l. Being a regular traveller between Colombo and kandy on a 2nd gen prius I was getting 25km/l. So I can say with confidence that the Aqua will do atleast 30km/l or more. And I'm sure we are going to see lots and lots of Aquas on our roads by the end of the year.
Yeah well don't think that everyone who bought these 1st gen prii long before the tax cuts are environmentally concious people. Most of these people knew very little about that technology during a time when the hybrid technology was just becoming mainstream in other devoloped countries. They thought that they could save a fortune by buying a prius even after paying a premium price. I highly doubt if there's hardly any TRUE tree huggers in a country like Sri Lanka. If there is someone then my respect. It's the nature of us humans to be selfish. So paying an extra 3-4 million bucks just to conserve the environment ....well I don't think so.
Hybrid technology was in the devolopment phase for many years and it became mainstream about 15 years back. So what we are actually arguing is about a proven and tested technology. So is the full EV's. There's going to be many years until we see these EV's on our roads.
And 'hybrid cars are a stop gap' was not a statement made by me, I was just quoting it.
Damn right. But you have been posting this same statement over and over again, and you think AL community is stupid or what? and it just don't make any sense to the topic.
Now whose hiken puna wenne malli !!!!
Aiyo malli, which part of it made you wobble? The hybrid part or the V8 thingy.
btw I see you havn't cast your vote yet. You smart bugger. I think you are the smartest out of the lot.
The rupee will come back to where it was, according to CB chaps. When CB stops intervention of curruncy regulation there will be a overshoot of the dollar but it's temporary. Yesterday it was 118, today is 117, so it's already started to go down.
afaik if you keep the AC running the engine will not stop since the ac compressor is engine driven in honda insight and civic models. whereas the prius has a electric driven ac compressor.
The HV battery. But there's no starter motor. The traction motor will turn the engine for starting.

In this instance I didn't bribe him. But there were couple of incidences where cops were caught for taking bribes by using cctv footage.
I was thinking the same thing lately. Accusing a cop without concrete evidence might even backfire. Next time will record the conversation.
