BJ5P comes with different variants, 1. with ZL-VE (SVT) engine ,130hp (2nd highest demand in srilanka among familias, 1st is its BJ5W) (in here also we can see lot of variants , ex: auto ,triptronic,4 disk etc...) 2.with ZL-DE (JDM produce 110bhp) (again several variants ...) other than BJ5P s , it is common to have BJ6P 323s, ZM-DE engine ,105hp. one advantage of this engine is smooth and good torque distribution from 1k to 5K RPM. that means upto 5000 RMP , this engine has more power than ZL-VE and ZL-DE. fuel consumption is somewhat equal in these 3 models (for same transmission type).

100% true, if a person thinks that Blue color is better than Green ,since it is a personal preference no one can challenge that. so Sank,still my advice is to go fro a Honda without considering the number. now RMV offers English numbers for already registered vehicles.

i noticed that, but i thought that is also outdated with following motivation: In ur comment it says that "Only things I needed was the ID, and the blood donors card with the blood type was enough for the blood type". I called to 0112518950(tel no in RMV) and the person who answered said that it is not necessary to produce any document related to Blood Group. Then you might be thinking that why I was unable to get all the information from that number. I am not going to the same mistake again. I did this kind of query about “new number plates”. What they told is “bring the vehicle book and id copy, that’s it”. But once I was there they asked me to bring old number plates. Then I went back and brought it. Oops! start from simplest, TEST 1: get ur car to a silent road.speedup to 60kmph. i bet now the car is on 4th gear. now stop gas and wait until the car get down its RPM nearly 1500 rev/min. now foot on the accelerator (full throttle position) Note: in this test don't expect for a quick acceleration. only thing you should worry about car jerk (misfires) TEST 2: speedup the car again to 60kmph . shift to 3rd gear to rise up the RMP to 3000 and foot on the accelerator (full throttle position). please update the forum with the result. Motivation: engine misfire problems related to "ignition electrical path" are noticeable in low RPM.in fact it is there in the high RMP, but difficult to be noticed

It is really difficult to shares some experience using words. just find two friends who has this two models, ask them , no one will know about the other car. EG8 is better in "several perspective" *. Better handling * .Better power *. this butterfly model has build quality problems in some areas (Door latches, winders). but still Mazda butterfly model will be ahead in some areas (Newer car, low mileage than EG8,etc...), conclusion can be made based on the weight you are going to give for each and every factor. anyway I love Mazda!

Yes, that was one of my first option, Nissan pulser SR16VE or 20VE 4 door. but those are difficult to be found. and i have no idea about the fuel consumption. if i am right i think swift sports do 9-10kmpl in city.

i am not going to suggest a make and model for u. but ........ among these options if you are going to select a lancer or AE100, dont get a 1.3 (CK1 is 1.3 and most of AE101 are 1.3, but in clasified they will be named as AE100)

hi kelum_wj, Thnaks for the reply , EK3 Vtec also takes 13-14 sec to reach 0-100kmpl and Lancer GLX 1.6 ,EK3 1.6 and this has somewhat identical spec values. for this vehicle also in sites which contains specifications says it will reach upto 100kmpl within 11.2 sec. but practically without a proper launching it will add +3 secs. two door is not an option. appriciate your suggestion. extremely sorry , in my reply , this model = mazda butterfly 1.5, not the 2000 1.6. i just mentioned about 2000 model because even though i am a Mazda lover , with my experience i know that EG8 is the better option.

Thank you all for the valuable comments: I am sorry that i haven't mentioned my real requirement here. currently i own a mazda(not a swift) bj6p 323 (1600cc), YOM:2000, it does 10kmpl in city when i am driving it in normal pattern and i am using it as a daily runner. It is a good car but it takes 13-14 sec to reach 100kmph from 0(starts with 0 RPM, tested in southern highway several times ). so basically i need more bhp like 140 bhp for 1000kg. STI ands evos are not an option because still i need at least 9kmpl in city when i am driving it with light foot. I think that explains my real requirement, my budget = current car + 0.5M Thanks.

Yes, thats right!................. My vote for EG8 , currently i am using a mazda familia 2000 1600cc model, but i knw that eg8 is better than this familia model in several perspective....
