Don't go for the 1.3Ltr its too sluggish...
  4. Why don't you try looking for polyurethane bushes... for example : http://www.powerflexonline.com/ if your careful with the bushes like not spray oil on it; it should last longer than the car.. The ride feels much stiffer with them on, Plus i got it with a life time warranty.... I'm using "Prothane" bushings...

  7. The only reason im looking to use the none water base coolant is because it reduces the stress on the cooling system; specially on the joints for example according to Ed China you could run the car for hours and simply open the radiator cap and it wont burst out. That shows the amount of stress and pressure within the engine. My vdub even though it shows 90 of the thermo; the diagnostics shows a values of 110 which is above boiling... I am not sure how fuel is effected "not relevant coz the vehical would anyway bring the engine to its normal running temp but less stress if this product is in. Plus the added advantage of rust free internals...
  8. jdnet is correct... i wish we had products like these in SL...
  9. Hi Guys, I would like to known if anyone has tried the waterless engine coolant. I started looking at it after seeing Ed China from Wheeler Dealers using it in one of the vehicals he was working on, and after reading the specs of such a product "Evans" I found that the boiling point has been pushed upto 180c which in turn reduces stress on the horses in the cooling system. So I looked it up on ebay and found that 5liters is around 12-13 thousand.. Is there any dealers for such products here in SL... ???
  10. Not at all surprised!!! Do it outside and file the bills...

Hi, Being a VW owner i would recommend you find a manual gearbox. The VAG auto gearboxes are problematic. Ruwan is planning to start his own gearbox repair workshop very soon, he is waiting for the equipment to arrive. but its better if u have a manual. Cheers
  14. Its a good car. if you need parts contact Shantha, Rohantha and then eBay, a guy to maintain it speak to Ruwan. In my case, iv own my vdub for almost 2 years... spent almost the same price i bought it for... but still loving every moment with it.... recently did a trip from colombo to Arugambay and Arugambay to Pasikuda, back again to colombo on 1 full tank with 3 passengers and luggage... covered 768.5Km ##
  15. Yea thats the one...
  16. What about a Passat 2012 TSI with the direct shift gearbox a.k.a DSG...
  17. SOOOO TRUE!!!!..LOL
  18. You could use battery water, in that case u might as well us coolant with battery water cos its gonna cost you big anyway. In VW's we use G12 it actually helps the engine retain heat not the other way around.... this actually helps the car come to its running temp very fast... If you do come across some G12... try this out.. make sure its in a plastic bottle and put in some water and see what happens.. it heats up.. u could even see some smoke
  19. Dont trust agents.. There was this fellow in Sri Lankan Insurance who ripped people off with their insurance premium and provided them with fake documents, I known coz i was 1na them victims. Finally no premium nothing and the insurance company wants me to keep the vehical at home until the case is settled. So i had to open a new cover last december. The case is still going on.
  20. It was a 1500 manual (HR-4521) now the car is wasted, i saw it recently with a broken timingbelt and the body looks so sad, something between 8 to 9 city outstation it did around 10 to 11 once down to una.
  21. I used a KIA RIO 2001.... for 4 years leather seats and all... in general the car was good.... but i had major issues with the plug wires..coz every time i go outstation my engine check light comes up and i keep resetting it... but i did change the wires at car plan..."which i should say.. back then was good for nothing" RIO's have a common issue known as a cold startup (where the engine keeps missing until its hot).. which can be fixed with a ECU update which is available on the net.. but back then car plan didnt have the equipement to update the ECU, the engine is mostly MAZDA so parts are not a major issue now and even then... I can remember submitting the link StreetKIAs to AU back then also... If i did have a choice i would go for the spectra of the same year.. due to the fact that the spectra is more modifiable and has more grunt than the RIO.... fuel well nothing that would make you go wow...8 to 9... 1.5Ltr is wat u need to have. 1 more thing i didnt like the gearshift it was very clumsy... u need to get a short shifter in... mazda's are a direct fit...
  22. How about a Kelisa? not sure how much it would cost secondhand...
  23. machan you havent even bought the vehical yet.... ur planning on how to sell it already..!!!
  24. I would say a VIVA would be a better buy...
