When silencer repair man removed the silencer, he asked me to replace the barrel and the pipe ends till muffler!!! as I've seen, there were no holes or damages on the barrel. But the pipe till muffler had been welded on couple of places.. so I asked him why you're suggesting me to replace these things hence they were in good condition. Then he said Sir, you cant get better fuel economy with these things (He mentioned my pipe from barrel to muffler was narrowed from some places). Finally I asked him to not to replace anything and just do the repair. Actually he repaired it well and now the big sound from engine has gone away. Dear friends, kindly tell me what he said was correct?, is it affecting fuel economy? But everything is ok now and engine sounds good, still is their any chance for that? Thanks..

Don't you'll think that it can be an electric problem? I mean putting plugs in wrong order? Running engine with less cylinders also vibrate the engine..

Dear All, I got it fixed today.. That Silicone is a back color one with "None Acetic" (Acetic might cause rust!) I brought it from a place called Wimal Motors at Morathuwa. A single big tube cost me Rs. 450/- and I got two for my both front and rear windscreens. Thanks, LancerL

A mechanic told me that the normal white silicon is bad for windscreen leaks, hence it can make rust on places where it applies, like windscreen area in the long run. Is it true? If true, what's the best alternative and how much it will cost? Also is front windscreen gaps are the only place where water can leak under dashboard of a car? Ideas please!!! Regards, LancerL

Dear all, My silencer conduit has broken from the barrel on muffler side, (I mean where the smoke goes out). Kindly advice me that do I have to definitely go to a silencer workshop for this or just a welder person can welding this? if so is their any big mechanism on the silencer where normal welder cannot troubleshoot. How much will be cost for this job. Thanks..

Dear Sylvi, Thank you for your quick response. 1. This has run nearly 234000 kilometers, also the previous owner has done a full engine repair too. (not sure how many Kms after repair) 2. Yes this hasn't serviced 8-9 months from last service, but hasn't reach the next service due meter reading. (Meter is working) 3. Had small engine-miss but now its ok. Thanks Mahesh

Hi, I have a Lancer A73 L light car 9 Sri (1976 module) brought a week back. This hasn't serviced nearly 8 months and planing to do on next weekend. Can anyone advice me about the best engine oil grade for this by your experience. Also do I have to replace the gear oil and differential oil too or just filling is enough?? Thanks in advance Mahesh
