May be would have bought a JDM hatchback for that price range? Vitz 1000 CC. IDk.. I may be wrong.

LoL everytime I come here expecting a "Cool Gadget" and end up reading about "Light Bulbs"
-
Thanks I stand corrected

Isn't the Belta assembled in Thailand? Not JDM I suppose.

With that budget you gonna stuck with entry levell phones. Such as Samsung Galaxy Y. If you can stretch your budget to 30K then you can get your hands on mid range phones. I recently bought Galaxy A3 for my wife (approx 33K as I remember). It a solid phone with dual sim. Works just fine. She's been using it for about 4 months now without any issues. Another option would be HTC phones. Most of the HTC's new arrivals are good in quality and much more robust. I've been using HTC M7 for about an year without any issues. There is a popular 5 inches screen model at shops these days. I can't remember the model number. Visit the stores at MC you can figure out the price and products. Also Huawei honor 4C worth consideration too.

I agree with what most of the people say here. Don't go for Hybrid if you are not a daily runner. My friend's battery died within 6 months as he was driving only during weekends. Go with petrol vehicle. 3.1 Budget you can get a good used Sedan (Blue Sylphy, Corolla ) or brand new hatchback - 2012 models (FIT GP1, Vitz, Demio, Swift Jeep Model).

I better get it changed at Agents then.
-
Do you really think I need to go to agents for it? Couldn't places like Auto Miraj won't handle it?
-
Actually I got the car approximately 3 weeks back. There is no service records of CVT oil change form previous owner's service records. So planning to do it by end of this month.
-
I've done a service at Auto Miraj recently for my Vitz 2007. Changed Oil (Toyota 5W30), Air Filter, Oil Filter, Coolant Topup & usual diagnose & cleaning stuff. It costed me approx 16K. I was asked to change the ATF too as I've passed 80,000 KM. I decided to do it next month as I'm tight on budget this month.

Appreciate the hard work mate. Really useful analysis.
-
Exactly my point too. People should not take law in their hands.

Thanks mate. I'm a total noob in terms of the car as this is my first car. I'm sure I'll mess up the paint and leave it with more dents So I'd take my time to gradually improve my DIY skills. Thanks for the reply I thought so. Quality comes with a price. Thanks for clarifying it. Since there are more con artists, taking a precaution. I think I'll get it done at Sun Lanka coming weeks. Thanks again.

Sorry for reviving an old thread. Has anyone done this reverse sensor installation recently? Any recommendations. Checked with Sun Lanka and Pet#o there is a slight price difference between them. Just wondering if there are any more places ?

They do post them too.

Things To Check(Look Into) When Buying A 10-15 Old Car

Exactly I'm gonna do it too, when I sell my car. I'll be genuine and open about everything. So I'll explain what happened. Buying and not buying is their choice -
Things To Check(Look Into) When Buying A 10-15 Old Car
Seeker LK replied to ravindasenarath's question in Car Buying Information
//Its not that milk lady Vitz by any chance is it? // That I don't know for sure since I got it on open papers from a guy around Nugegoda. Well, about open papers dilelama.... and my story goes as follows.. Writing here so it'll help other new people seeking information So first I came across this car in a popular classified site. Called the guy and went there with a mechanic as I don’t know much about the cars (this is my first car). While the mechanic asked about the CR book, the guy told us that he is keeping it in open book. Mechanic checked the car and told me; car is taken good care of. Since this guy is doing car sales from home, he asked me to bargain on the price. I couldn’t bring the price down much. Only 20K after talking hours and hours Later when I went to leasing companies & banks, the hell broke down. Combank – They don’t want to lease a vehicle, which is made before 2010 CDB / LOLC – Interest rate is very high HNB – The manager asked me whether I could afford the rental etc. He was talking all the time as if he is the only rich man in the country, others can’t afford a shit He even asked me to go for joined leasing with my wife. In addition to this drama, the banks were not happy with providing leasing for a car on open papers. Also they insisted that we do the double transfer on the same day (which I’ll have to incur extra 10,000 LKR). Finally the guy who had the car told me, he has a card of an NDB guy. So called him and told him the story and he agreed to set up the leasing. Interestingly he gave me the lowest rate compared to other banks and leasing companies. I was asked to bring some documents, which proves stuffs like the company I work for, salary, bankbook photocopy, salary slip etc. Also I got my wife and father in law to sign as guarantors. Finally within 3 days leasing was passed, I signed the documents and got the car from the guy. Even if you have your car on open papers, you can transfer them to your name without any problem. But the guy who is keeping the car on open papers will also listed in the CR book as past owner. Disadvantage is that number of previous owners will go up. This is bad for a typical Sri Lankan mindset. But I don’t give a damn as long as car is doing fine. My first service is due next Saturday. I hope I wouldn’t run into any mechanical trouble with the car. -

I don't have any pics yet, except the one taken from AL classified. I'm posting them here, hoping that it wont' be a problem. -
I hope probably places like TL, AutoM**aj people know how to do it. Otherwise we are all fished up big time.
-
Just curious.. did the GB change helped you?

Finally got one which can be plugged into cigarette lighter. It has a built in FM modulator, we need to set the same frequency on the device and the vehicle's audio set. Later I can plugin a pen drive or play songs form phone via bluetooth. Works just fine and audio quality isn't that bad at all. I got something like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Car-Kit-MP3-Bluetooth-Player-FM-Transmitter-Modulator-SD-USB-Remote-M0BG-/131587593098?hash=item1ea33b538a

Thanks for the info guys. Anyway I ordered one and when I get to test it, I'll give you the update here

I recently bought a Vitz and the audio system's touch isn't working. Also the FM range is usual JDM vehicle's range. So can't tune most of the Sri Lankan channels. Wondering if I could buy and use one of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wireless-3-5mm-In-Car-LCD-FM-Transmitter-Handsfree-for-iPhone-4S-5S-4-5-6-iPod-/310665458067?hash=item48551ab193 They are small and simply can plugin to my phone and play the song. Has anyone used this type of gadget before? Thanks in advance
