  1. Unit injectors are pressurized by the engine's camshaft,if the unit injectors are receiving diesel and not starting, either there is a problem with the injectors,or there are not actuated by the ecu or not being pressurized by the camshaft. Sine your engine has been rebuild, why don't you show it to the agent and get their advice, may be you have installed the pump duse camshaft (unit injector camshaft wrongly). Also get your unit injectors checked and serviced by D*MO Bosch service center.
  2. Our one comes with the electronic throttle control but there may be yaris sedans with throttle cables.
  3. Hmm I think so,The clutch control of our 64- diesel wagon is so much easier, compared our yaris manual. When doing clutch balancing of the yaris, the engine needs to reved much more than the diesel wagon.
  4. It seems like that clutch control of a diesel car is much more easier than a petrol one.Specially on hills,I would like to have comments from others
  5. I rage has given a clear explanation,It makes much more easier to overtake with the s mode, especially on the highway. But when driving in the city you may find the car diffult to control as it tries to runaway.Unlike in a manual car the cvt takes some time to respond in the d mode. This can be observed when you floor the accelerator, the car takes a little time to respond. The s mode will give more reponsive drivability in lower speeds but the car revs like mad after about 80 Kmph. This is the experience I gained from a 2013 axio, still I would prefer to have a 3 pedal car.

    Lancer Cb8

Lancer cb 8 is a durable car.Don't know about the petrol version, but the diesels seems to be smooth with the two balance shafts.Remeber one of our relatives bought a diesel cb 8 from a permit in 1994 and the car was nealy 10 lacks.
  7. Our axio 2013 does 8.5-9.5 kmpl in normal traffic,18 kmpl in the highway.Brother's yaris manual does 10kmpl in city.So your fuel consumption figures are normal
  8. Well i would agree with Don.But still we may able to produce parts such as rubber beadings, tyres, pastics even metal castings, gear wheels etc in Sri Lanka May be producing low cost cars (Cars such as Toyota Etios) with standard options and retiring old vehicles (may be more than 15 yrs old ),further reducing car imports would be a good way of making a local market. Dont know whether it would make a enough production volume,if not we may be able to export cars,as Suzuki india is trying to set up an assemble plant in Sri Lanka. I dont thick there would be a problem of finding skilled technicans as lots of qualified techicans pass out from instititues such as German tech,Japan tech etc. But it should be fair on consumers side as other members stated.
  9. Hmm, as harshansenadhir said the technician must have over advanced /wrongly calibrated the injector pump. The injector pump may be advanced by slightly turning when fixing to the engine or by making the adjustment in the advancing cylinder inside the pump. Before blaming about the advancement make sure that your technician has calibrated the pump correctly using the injector pump test bench. Then make sure that he has not wrongly adjusted timing cylinder or he has fixed it in the wrong direction. Also check whether your injectors were serviced properly and the injector do open at the pop up pressure. To re calibrate the injector pump,it has to be removed from the vehicle and fixed to a test bench. Then has to be calibrated with correct data sheet.I thick your car is having an electronic injector pump.So better to take it place where electronic injector pump can be tested. Good luck.
  10. I can remember changing engine mount of our corolla ce 96 in 2002 at the toyxxx lxnxx which cost us nearly RS 25000. last service of our Toyota yaris cost RS 13000 which RS 6000 alone for the labours. The service consisted of changing oil, filter and plugs. The labour cost seems to be high. One of my cousins told me that their diesel Volkswagen jetta is scheduled to serviced at 15000 km intervals and cost them about RS 20000 at the Senxx. That seems to be cheap and low hassle compared to 5000km service of vvt I cars A mechanic at the unixxx moxxxx said me that toyota agency was done by a person called kemaren samarasinghe during the early 90s and late 80s and toxxta Japan had started their know agency due to rising number of compains of the earlier dealer. Is it true ,Can some one recall this story.
