  1. Thanks dude..! mine didn't have any tint. highly appreciate if somebody could mention few places by name particularly in K'gala/Kandy.( guess it won't violate forum rules). Wish to hear from anyone out there who recently replaced winker mirrors
  2. I had kind of a bad vesak day yesterday, the road was full of traffic and one motorbiker smashed into my right side winker mirror and just escaped .! The mirror (the glass) got shattered but, the mechanical and electrical parts working well. (power mirror and winker light are good). Looking for a shop to buy a recon winker mirror preferably around kandy/Kurunegala. (Highly doubt that I would be able to find the mirror part alone without having to buy the entire unit. :sad-smiley-066: ) If you know such a place or happened to have a recon VitZ 2008 right side winker mirror please comment...! Highly appreciate an early response. Thanks! in advance.
  3. Thanks mate, there's no noticeable difference when taking bends. When maintaining a particular speed, it's like stays the same but, it definitely worsens when accelerating/ or decelerating. I recently got the fan belts tightened so It's unlikely them making the noise. Didn't go to the garage yet machan. But when I do, I'll keep that in mind. Thought of narrowing down the possibilities with the help of more experienced AL members here before taking the car to garage so that I will have some idea as to what to do and where to go for. Thanks!
  4. It is definitely louder when shutters closed. But, I'm pretty much sure it's not the rattling of plastic inside the cabin. I 've tried that also machan.
  5. I'm experiencing a soft noise/ rattle in the driving side of my vitz but, strangely it becomes more evident on a carpet road (when there's no other interferences). The intensity of the rattle does not increase with poor road conditions or in bends but is clearly audible. Is it a common issue with vitz?? Thought somebody could shed some light on this matter as well. Thanks!
  6. Highly appreciate your inputs. Thank you!
  7. I'm also experiencing a similar soft noise/ rattle in the driving side of my vitz but, strangely it becomes more evident on a carpet road (when there's no other interferences). The intensity of the rattle does not increase with poor road conditions but is clearly audible. Thought this could be related to the problem in question and somebody could shed some light on this matter as well. Thanks!
  8. Sorry for the late reply....! Its a 2008 toyota vitz, 1000cc to be exact. And I'm from Matale. Are they, I mean Willies, good at it ??
  9. I heard that they are undertaking mechanical repairs also. Any experience with their mechanical / running repairs??. BTW I'm looking for a reliable place for the maintainace other than this K_ndasale A_to W_rks.
  10. Guys, been to Priyantha auto electricals today. They did an engine tune up. Scan didn't yield any error codes. Spark plugs good. Didn't notice any problem on the way back home, so far so good! Hopefully they did a good job!
  11. Thanks all for quick replies.........Any good garage that you recommend around kandy please...
  12. I bought this about 2 months back from a car salesman. Got to speak to the salesman he must be having previous owner's contact details. I did not change them since I bought it. Anyway I'll get a mech to inspect the plugs.
  13. Hey guys, since very recently I realised my car is iddling pretty bad and I could hear missing beats when flooring with the gear shifted to "Neutral" (was much better before), check engine light flashes when I insert the key and accelerates pretty bad when climbing a hill. I'm nearing my next full service but the air filter isn't too bad. Please help with this problem. In the meantime I'm thinking of getting the car scanned so, please recommend me a place (other than "M_g C_ty") around Kandy who does a decent job.
  14. If I were you I would look for something in the range of 4.5 mil and keep the rest for registration+ insurance+ maintainance. As the resale value is a top priority in your case, you can go for a 4-5 year old second hand vehicle of your choosing so that the initial depreciation has already taken place and you'll loose less at the time of resale. As far as brand/model is concerned, it's up to you to decide. Good luck with your buy.
  15. I would add these new releases.......to the list . All decent movies with good acting... 1.) Prisoners [2013] Trailer: 2.) The Frozen Ground 2013 Trailer: 3.) Oblivion (2013) Trailer: 4.) The Woman in Black trailer: 5.) Elysium Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNxhqoKT1oc 6.) The Hobbit Trailer: Hope you'll like them....

  17. Just googled for types of hybrid technologies out of curiosity and ended up here....http://auto.howstuffworks.com/different-types-of-hybrid-cars.htm The stuff they talk about though multiple pages supports what Don has already explained..!
  18. Hey, I'm no expert in hybrids or whatever, but what i feel is it's better that you let your hybrids few more years in sri lankan conditions to prove themselves, then all of us will be in a better position to comment on them... until then, they will be all arguments rather than facts..!
  19. If your source of information is reliable, then, of course, it's a good move..
  20. Now that the CHOGM is over, nobody seems to bother about what you have on your W/S. I see people still have various stickers in their vehicles. Surely no issues for Doc car pass.
  21. Ok, Guys, apparently most of you discouraged deviation from the stock tyre size. Thanks a lot all you guys for taking the trouble to explain things. All your comments are highly appreciated. It seems I got to live with whatever the specifics the toyota has decided in my car as switching to a SUV is not an feasible option to me.
  22. Please explain more as to how to it could be done. Will a normal garage be able to do such thing or should I take it to the agents? Thanks.
  23. Thanks for your suggestions. I also feel 175/70/14 would be a better option (as opposed to 185/60/15) as it doesn't increase the width and therefore no undue stress on engine. (correct me if I'm wrong) Further, I would like to hear from anybody who went through the same process of plus sizing of tyres, just to see whether they've experienced the feeling of "lack of power"
  24. Thanks Rumesh for the clarification.
