  1. Hi Tiv, Thanks. It was an import from a known source from Japan, reached here 6 months after manufacturing. There were no indications of mileage tempering. This is an Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Driving style is not aggressive, and well maintained throughout with genuine filters and valvoline oil. Used mainly for short trips during last 4 years, as per the mileage indicates. Services done in 6 month intervals always. Yes, its consumption from HIgh-Low level of the dipstick during the service interval. But, the consumption intensity became high as oil gets older (last 1000 km), what we noticed was the latter 250-300 ml went off in 1000 km. Anyways, we are monitoring that aspect too. 0W20 is the recommendation by the Agent. According to UM, this problem has been reported in number of JDM ECs but not in local imports as per the UM. However, UM has not worked in detail to find reasons for this problem. Thanks
  2. Dear All, A vehicle of one of my colleague done 32000 km burns oil (Turbo 1500). Its 700 ml for 4000 km (6 months), oil used 0W20 fully synthetic. This has been a well maintained vehicle. There are no any hallmarks of burning oil 1. No blue smoke 2. No carbon build up in the tip of the muffler. 3. The agent is clueless about the reason 4. Spark plugs also (two removed and checked) did not show any signs of oil burning-see the figure below 5. Turbo exhaust was checked, but not much oil on turbo exhaust line towards the intercooler 5. The engine runs very smoothly but only indication for a quarry is "clicking noise on high acceleration when climbing" The agent suspects its due to low octane number of fuel The agent's recommendation is to monitor it for another 1000 km..... What could be the issue here?
  3. My case too, the problem will be resetting the controls of pioneer stereo. Anyways, I am planning to connect a UPS battery as a back up during charging!!!!! Looks it would be safer to remove the negative terminal and do the charging. I got a variable current charger got from Dxxz. By the way, would it make issues if a car left without starting for long time?
  4. Guys, Fuel crisis lead most of us to leave the car in the Garage for an extended period of time. It would be good to charge the battery as today's price of a car battery is barely affordable!!! Could an expert shed your thoughts on DIY steps of charging the battery when it is still on the car. Two things especially 1. The need of disconnecting battery terminals before charging, to avoid any possible damages to the ECU 2. Leaving the car batter disconnected: is it okay for an extended time. 3. What is the voltage we should keep the battery. (e.g. something as below) 4. If we need to remove terminals, how to avoid loss of memory. I am mentioning about modern cars here!!!!!
  5. After some research, note what i found brembo parts for EC. This is a very good option for highly inflated priced pads sold by UM. Please text me if you need a help to find a garage (kandy area) who got the tool to release parking brake to service mode.
  6. I am not sure about the engine option. Poor maintenance would be the reason.
  7. It looks the civic 2018 suffers oil burning issue. I noted the 2nd Civic with the same problem received by the garage I go. In one, the turbo unit has also busted!!!!
  8. Unit#d Mot#rs fellows are so strict on fixing parts bring from out side!! I wanted to replace brake pads imported for my EC, they refused to fix it (kandy) though I wanted to get it done from them since the electronic parking brake release needed to be done. I am wondering how sustainable their approach would be especially during the recession time of the country. Anyways, I got it done outside as the relevant scanner was available....
  9. Hunting for brake pads......no luck in Kandy. Anyone can help me to get it. We are going through a terrible time, most auto shops hide the stock expecting high prices. Really fed up with the life in SL!!!:(
  10. Agreed, D*r*z has been trustworthy for me. By the way, I didn't know that they deal with vehicle spares!!!
  11. I agree. They never pick the phone given in the website. Often the phone is switched off or not picked up. Can imagine the nightmare that someone has to go through if the payment is done. As a general advice, better to avoid this Monkey place :)
  12. Guys, please do consider this as a precaution. I ordered tyres from the so called online shop Greaxxx Monkey, but did not pay. I wanted to contact them before doing a bank transfer. To my surprise, I could not contact them for last four days. My gut feeling is guys are waiting to transfer money so that they can play with it. Please be careful when dealing with these fellows. Overall, our online shops are rarely trust worthy.
  13. Great. I may try that option too. What is the Brembo part number. How the electronic parking brake was released by your machanic.
  14. Did you get done the Brake Work from the TL? or out side. If so, were you able to find out genuine parts.
  15. Now we have clocked 62000 in our Ch-R. Oct 92 throughout, no issues up until now... Almost time to change brake pads. Just to tell you, brake pads of Ch-R held for 62000 but Eclipse cross brake pads lasted just only for 30000 km!!!
  16. Good work. Where the garage you got the work done? Is it in Kandy area?
  17. Nope, had to collect it from the FPC of the Post Office. Tax paid was very minimal. Professional approach towards the officials helped it
  18. Genuine brake pads arrived from amayama!!! Cost is same as the counterfeit stuff sold by venders in Sri Lanka. You can imagine the profit those cheap venders in Sri Lanka getting (Approx : Rs. 32,000. Unit#d Mot#rs price nearly Rs. 70,000 +) . I feel sorry about customers who don't have any idea..
  19. Guys, anyone of you have an idea of how to retract electronic parking brake. I tried couple of tricks on the web but did not work. Do we need "Mitsubishi Scanner" to do it or any other scanner would do?
  20. A new Caliper guide pin boot for the one ruined by UM. Amayama was so quick in delivery, it came from Japan and took one half week.
  21. Crossover repair is not a big deal. Its strange to hear about the rattle, normally the removal of the woofer is sufficient to do the crossover job. Cabinet doesn't need to be opened.
  22. My Yamaha, Denon combination
  23. That will be great...
  24. Hey K9, Glad to know you are on the same boat.... Bad to hear about Overtures, might have been a dry joints in the Crossover unit. Its a such a nice speaker someone should not easily get rid of. Denon PMA737 is a classic amp it seems.
  25. But, Amayama it costs nearly 40 Dollers with shipping. I am not sure the Agent price.
